After playing a few games, overall i really like it, but I'm agitated by two things that have agitated me for years.

1. Like it's been said already, pyschic DB's.

2. LB's with ridiculous verticals and reaction times.

how did they screw this up again?

I'm playing on AA. Might try it on Varsity to see if these 2 issues are as prevalent.

Just encountered a weird glitch. As Oregon I was up 21-10 on Texas going into the 4th quarter. The College Gameday graphic popped up at end of the 3rd then the screen froze, however the game was still going on in the background. I was able to blindly quit the game then everything returned to normal.

The things I really, really hope get tuned for the demo....

CPU shotgun running. I have watched my roommate play 4 games now and two of them were against Oregon on heisman. He shut them out both games. IT was bad man, 3 dedenders in the backfield before the RB was even breaking toward the line of scrimmage.

Can we get zone defenders or defenders in general to stay inside of that skinny post route in 4 vert? its still popping open a lot

Games does look great on the 360, weve got HDMI on a solid LCD and its a fine looking game

The kick return game seems to be a little out of wack. In my first game on the demo there were 3 kick return touchdowns in the first half. This was on All-American difficulty.

Wasn't sure how the new tackles would play without suction but I am VERY impressed, the game looks a bit odd at first because its just so different from what I'm used to from NCAA but that is a good thing. I've seen so many realistic looking tackles/broken tackles that were never seen before in this game.

edit: just got my first successful screen pass in NCAA in what feels like 2 years, pass rush came in and a simple lob over their heads led to 6 for FSU

Wow! I was playing against Oregon and on the last play of the game they threw a hail mary. It looked like I was for sure going to get a game ending sack, but the CPU QB sprinted up into the pocket and launched a pass down field. It wasn't completed, but I liked to see the QB moving around the pocket

Just ran a WR option with Oregon for a td because Texas' cornerback sat there and did nothing when he clearly had me tackled. He literally sat there and did not move. FFS

I have noticed the CPU QB be a bit more mobile than in NCAA 11 as well. I would like it to be a notch or two more active when its an actual scrambling QB but its definitely an improvement already

Still hate that there isn't a lot of control as far as ball trajectory. When I was playing there was a DT from Texas who dropped back into coverage (as fast as a DB I might add) and jumped as high as an athletic LB and knocked down a pass, so there were obviously a lot of things wrong on that sequence...

Another thing is the QBs shuffle awfully quick. Dude from Texas shuffled forward, never sprinted and was able to get a first down (granted it was 2nd and short, but still... way too quick.

I had a play where the Oregon's QB ended up doing the slide animation in the backfield on an option play. He did it immediately after faking the handoff. That's how quick my guys were back there.

Played one game on AA level as texas, won 29-0. Three penalties all holding 2 on cpu, 1 on my team. For me looks like AA is to easy and Hiesman too hard I will have to fiddle with sliders, if I get the game.
Game seems to feel a little different, not sure if its a $60 difference though.
Team entrances mean nothing to me, already skipped it. I didn't see any stat overlays if they came up I sure didn't see them. Couple of replays not to many though. The announcing is what makes the game feel stale and boring IMO, puts me to me sleep.
Didn't notice any suction but sure saw alot of ice skating! Was the X button supposed to do something different or is that madden ? Seemed to work the same to me
.
Graphics are good but not that much better than last year even with all that new lighting crap. I did notice some stuttering and I'm not to happy with it. Fans look the same, I don't care about having a cow on the field so no biggie there for me. Someone mentioned about the controller rumble when you break the huddle, yeah what's the purpose of that?
Overall IMO there is not that much different than 11 if you liked 11 you'll like 12. I guess the big thing this year is CC if your into that then its a no brainer purchase for you. I'm still on the fence not because its bad but I'm just not sure its a $60 upgrade. Online Dynasty is probably why I'll get the game, we'll see.

Running the spread is AWESOME! I've never been big in the spread on NCAA games because it wasn't realistic but I'm thinking my coach in coaching carousel will be using the spread. So much fun when you read the DE correctly and it works.

anyone else think the dreads just look awful?

# 195 DGuinta1 @ 06/28/11 01:31 PM
Fumbles on punts are still annoying!

the 3d grass looks great when you can actually see it, just another thing that should've been added once more gameplay issues were addressed.

From the little half a quarter I played before I had to go to work, I really like the new tackling system. Was able to break tackles ANY RB in America could break in their sleep, and the ones you should be wrapped up on I was. So it's more realistic.

Also I ran a 4 Verticles where the TE cuts across the field. And the LB was just sitting there in the zone. But once I threw it he turned around and started running towards my TE.

Now we all know in NCAA 11 the LB would have jumped 20ft in the air and tip the ball, when his back is to it and has no idea where it is. But that didn't happen, once I caught it the LB and S ran into each other and gave me some open running room.

hmm no one metion nothing about Overthrows or under throws. Passes hitting the grass without any kind of interaction between by the Defense or offense.

Does the CPU and Human overthrows passes as Madden 2011 did or the Game is exactly as NCAA 2011?

So far i have seen many videos and i havent seen more than 2 overthrows in the entire videos i have seen.

how about the demo?

Was gonna use Air Raid offense, now i know i'm definatley running the spread offense, it feels great running the ball now and not so lucky and clunky.

Loving the enhanced zone defense and lack of warping by the receivers. It's just so much smoother than 2011. Nice work
