I can't argue with the fact that it looks the same, it does, well kinda (I think it still looks better), but you gotta look at the plays man, it plays a lot better even in this early build. A LOT better

First things first, the good. The graphics are beautiful. The lighting is awesome and the grass looks great. I love that they brought in the ESPN style themes in the pre-game and during quarter changes. The running looked a little smoother as did the tackling. As a FSU fan, I'm pretty sure I'll always play the Osceola/Renegade spear plant when there is a big game (rivals or top 10 opponent) because it really does kind of get me pumped.

But that's as far as I can praise. While it's nice to get some presentation upgrades with the ESPN graphics, it still isn't very broadcast-like because the replays themselves are not broadcast style. When they decided to add those unrealistic replays last year, I hated it because I knew it killed any chance that replays would ever feel like a broadcast. That's the area in presentation where the 2K franchise shines in basketball, as it really does feel like watching a TV broadcast replay. But having cameras near the players feet, looks silly IMO and really just makes me want to skip all replays. Even more, they cut from one angle to another angle right as the play ends. That's what you would find in a trailer of a video game, not a broadcast style replay. I don't get why they are trying to add arcade replays while at the same time going for sim presentation. You ruin the sim with the arcade replays.

The gaps between commentary are head-scratchingly huge, but that's been the case for awhile now. I would have traded the pre-game introductions for all new-seamless commentary. It's really the same old boring, non-dynamic, hardly aware commentary system of the past decade. I'm pretty confident now that, like physics, it won't ever change this gen for EA.

The dreads are weak and the crowd didn't sound anymore aware of what is going on than they have in past games. I guess I can wait until the demo to fully test out the crowd awareness, but it wasn't an improvement from what I saw. Really, it seems like the same game from last year, gameplay/presentation wise with a few improvements that are noticeable while in game. No stat overlays. No stat comparisons. Not commentary on the stats. No matchup analysis, or rivalry analysis, or anything like that. It still doesn't play like a broadcast game (and we all know its possible for video games to play like one). I just wish they would go to youtube, and copy everything they see from a ESPN game, from the replays to the stats to the player introductions (introducing the lineups by showing player faces, hometown, class, and size) on that teams first offensive/defensive drive. Running still looks robotic as does the player interactions and celebrations. Oh well.

Looking forward to offline dynasty announcements. I spend 95% of my time there. I'll still buy the game because I love college football and need my fix but I don't really feel all that excited about the purchase. I guess I have just accepted that this is about what I should expect nowadays on this gen when it comes to football games.
100% cosign

Yes, I was mostly referring to presentation, but the gameplay didn't seem that different from 11, either. Sure there are some improvements, but nothing that made me jump up and say 'wow'.

I expected this place would meltdown and over react bc yall always do. I just didnt think it would happen this early. I think that might be a new record.

I think this is the game that some of yall need to go buy

I love posts like this. Once it comes out, people like this will buy it. Same thing every year!

You nailed it on the head.

Guys, maybe I am crazy, but I thought the gameplay improvements looked pretty great

^^^^^ @ Imagine Fashion Idol. Ha!

Outstanding. Overreaction Sports at its finest.

I understand some of the gripes, but I still think the game looks great and improves on an already solid NCAA 11. There is still more info to come which I am also looking forward to.

What ever happened to stat banners? Seems like they've completely disappeared this console generation.

I agree one THOUSAND percent.

I miss the stat overlays right after a play from the old games.

I can agree with this, but the AI did look much smarter from what I could see, which to me is more important than a lot of the presentation gripes.

I am surprised that no Mizzou fans have chimed in yet with how bad their secondary is! lol, I can't wait to see their ratings but based on that vid they have some unaware corners (getting beat on that double move) and sloooooooow safeties (just getting burned on that post in video 3)

I don't get it when people are complaining about NCAA looking like it pays similar to last years game. I think that's a great thing. I thought last year was an execellent game besides zone and man defense, playaction, super jumping lineman and bad CPU AI. By the look of things they fixed all the issues from last year so what is the complaint here? You do know NBA 2K11 plays very similar to the previous versions of it's self and so does MLB the Show but no one cries about that.

I'm very happy with what I saw. I love all the defense improvements and the game plays really good even being 2 months for the release. They still have time to tweak the game so will everyone please just stop all the crying it's getting pretty annoying.

ai still needs work...the play where the ball goes right by the linebacker, and the play in the first video on UF's field goal drive where the running back couldve taken outside for more yards or possible 6

Agreed I think 11 was the best on next gen. Miles ahead of 10. Although I don't think all of those issues have been addressed completely, I don't think 11 was that "unplayable". With a few tweaks 12 could be very enjoyable. Sure there is a lot I want added that isn't and stuff that is still evidently not fixed, but I am very pleased with the progressions the game is making.

My Biggest Gripe is what people expect on a year-to-year basis. EA has acknowledged the flaws in their current-gen engine and have conceded that in the next cycle of consoles, they will use real-time physics... and will try to get them in this-gen. So just go with it. Each year, they will try their best to improve on what they have. They can't just radically change the entire engine in one gaming cycle.

Regardless... the zone coverage looks good. That skinny post play is what SHOULD happen. The florida LB, even in real life, would rarely, if ever make that play. The problem I had with previous version of NCAA was that the coverage was so broken, that in order to stop the user from completing 80% of their passes, they had to make the CPU AI warp into unrealistic plays. So the fact that the guy was legitimately open and was rewarded for being open by the defense not making some super-human play is awesome.

I didn't see any of the leaping LBs and DEs from previous versions, which was one of my biggest pet peeves. It was almost a game-killer for me bc I was so sick of making the right reads and having the LB come out of nowhere or make a play he would never make.

I just hope the CPU AI is improved and there are broadcast cams. The dreads don't look good, but I could care less. Just play as realistic a game of football as you possibly can. I can't wait to run out of the pistol and see if the zone read is actually a viable and deadly play this year like it is for Oregon and so many other teams in real-life.

Just my .02.

I like how the guy was like "our roster guy is a full time gig working year around" when we have guys on here like Luvtotha9s who can make an incredible roster in 2 weeks

I agree with everything you said EXCEPT the skinny post thing. I am sorry but WATCH THE ZONE DEFENSE VIDEO that EA put out themselves, that route is supposed to be stopped this year. I don't know if you are one of those guys that just abuses that play online and thats why you are defending it now but, in the video (begnning of part 2) that LB should have defending that pass attempt. It went a foot away from his head.
