"The long awaited Augusta National Golf Club is now available in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR® 12: The Masters demo on Xbox® 360 and PlayStation® 3! Approach the tee box of the famous closing hole during the tournament’s final round in your quest to become the Masters champion and don the Green Jacket. In the “Play Now” setting, live that **** moment and have the first opportunity to play Augusta National’s par-4 18th.

See the distinct Masters experience and hear the iconic voice of long-time Masters announcer, Jim Nantz, throughout the demo. Nantz sets the stage as Tiger Woods charges up the leaderboard in chase of his fifth Green Jacket. Take control of Tiger Woods on the final hole and attempt to be crowned Masters champion, while the all-new commentary team of Nantz, and the always entertaining David Feherty, call the action.

In “Road to the Masters” mode, play holes 1-5 at TPC San Antonio Oaks Course - an all-new course to the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR franchise. Complete the five holes in the demo and jumpstart your career in the full retail version* by bypassing the EA SPORTS™ Amateur Tour and proceeding straight to the Nationwide Tour.

The PlayStation 3 version of the demo will support the PlayStation Move controller to fully replicate an authentic golf swing. Looking for an even more immersive golf interaction? The demo can also be played in True View mode – a first-person vantage point that is new to the PlayStation 3 with the Move controller. Additional information about the Masters Tournament, the all-new career mode, Caddie/Course Mastery, new golfers and courses, and a host of other new features are detailed in the demo. Share the demo with friends to earn additional experience points (XP)."

So you judge an entire game by the demo? Um, okay...

The bad part? No idea how far each club goes. I couldnt find the wind either. Its aggravating to say the least. Of course, they generally pull the right club, but found it aggravating. You just step up with no thought other than left sick back, left stick through. Meh
I'm sitting here pondering whether to pick this game up or not. I've had every tiger woods since inception but after playing this demo I kinda got the same feeling of , "listen to the caddy, press A, pull back stick, play next shot. Is this the case or is the game actually more free thinking than that?

I don't really see the big deal about the caddie. Check my impressions in the impression thread for full game.

i played 2 games last night for the first time...

One of them, TW, i had a blast playing simultaneous stroke with my buddies for 3 rounds... no issues (technically) and the game was solid and fun (TOUR Pro level). Scoring was a bit easy for being the first day with a new game, but we can mess with conditions and even go up to Tournament mode if necessary. Solid opening day launch.

The other, NTG 2011 was the most frustrating experience i've ever had with a game online. As soon as you load (if you load) you are sent tumbling end over end and everyone is crashing during the pace lap...lol. What a nightmare.

So I'm liking my TW.. i don't take it's stability online for granted either.

Quick question...in order to hit a fade/draw do you just move the right stick to the appropriate place in the circle and then just pull the swing stick straight back and straight forward? Doesn't that seem to easy to put sidespin on the ball?

Not necessarily...but would it be that unreasonable if someone did? Otherwise, why put out a demo?

Seeing as how before yesterday, the demo is all anyone had to judge anything by, coupled with the fact that this is indeed the demo impressions thread, the comment was fair game (albeit a bit pithy and off-handed). Notice I didn't put my comment in the full game impressions thread.

Can't blame you. The demo came close to derailing me from getting the game, but I'm sure glad I got the game now.

Good to know - I've been perusing the full game impressions thread, and seems like people are enjoying the game. I'll keep an open mind.
