Madden NFL 11 News Post

I recentely sat down for a talk with FBGRatings.com's Dan Berens to discuss his site's vision and what's going on over there today. The site is currently working on getting accurate ratings for every player using real hard data converted into the Madden ratings universe. Dan claims that when these numbers are plugged into the game, it plays much better and much closer to real life. Check out the interview below and also check out Dan's website to see what he's got going on!

During the season, we update weekly. 25000 players with updated information every week. We do not have time to make rosters. We are not in the roster creation business.

I applied for a position with EA back in the summer of 2011. I had a phone interview with 6 of the devs, including Donny Moore. I told them what I could do for them with the data I have. They seemed interested. The interview was going well until Donny asked me if I was willing to compromise "correct" ratings at the behest of the upper management and marketing teams.

Needless to say my lack of employment by EA at this time tells you what my answer was.

Sounds like they didn't want the ratings as low you have them. Isn't this a problem with their formula which makes it appear so low and not your ratings? Wouldn't changing their formula up a little make the overalls appear higher even though you input the same numbers?

If thats the case seems like they really don't want to put any effort into making the rosters accurate

Just by using the eye test,I don't think Brady is a 99 overall and Rodgers a 98 with your individual attributes.I don't see where they end up that much higher than Peyton or Brees would comparatively.I'll input them when I get a chance.

I addressed this a couple pages ago - the attributes do not match the OVRs yet because I am waiting to get the new calculations once the game drops.

good luck with that since their not doing a roster u have to change all the stuff by hand your gonna have tons of hrs of work since every team takes between 2-3 hrs to rerate. also your overall ratings will be different then fbg's.

I did this 2 years ago! It took forever! Lol! But who cares about overalls? It's about players playing like themselves. Game played amazing with all the edits I can say!!!

That's not true. The OVRs will match the attributes once the OVR calculations are cracked.

This year I plan to start at the beginning of the season. If you are releasing an update every week, with updates to players already complete, I will never get the roster finished. It seems to me, it makes more sense to do a start and end season update. I guess what i am saying is... If we can't get them implemented into the game, what is the point of these?
We do not do roster production. Not enough time for it. We are dedicated to weekly updates during the season. I cannot change that fact. Our subscribers require more regular updates.

As I said earlier, I don't care what people do with them...the site is merely a reference for anyone to do as they wish so long as they give credit and do not profit from our efforts.

anyone have an idea of whether or not a roster share file will be compatible for both xbox 360 and xbox one? in other words, if we create a roster with fbgratings for 360, would it also be there for xbox one when it releases?

DCEBB2001, i know that player's overall ratings drops if they are currently injured, was just wondering if their attribute ratings drop as well? was interested because some of us are attempting to edit the madden 25 rosters will FBGratings data and we want to make sure that all player ratings are on par as we input the data. thanks a million!

I just started with the roster the game came with actually. I have added players in when needed. I have the pats and jets than I'm done with the AFC East. Now I have never worked on a roster together so not sure how to transfer or save the rosters together. I normally do them alone lol

No. I have to analyze and crack the OVR formulas. I will do this when I get some time during the season.

Do attributes affect the OVR rating? Yes, the attributes will also change when players are injured...unless you think that RGIII ran a 4.40 40 right after his surgery.

I did volunteer, as did some others, I figure one of them would coordinate. Still it's probably best not to have too many cooks in the kitchen - makes for better consistency - and better pie. Mmmmm, pie.
