Madden NFL 11 News Post

I recentely sat down for a talk with FBGRatings.com's Dan Berens to discuss his site's vision and what's going on over there today. The site is currently working on getting accurate ratings for every player using real hard data converted into the Madden ratings universe. Dan claims that when these numbers are plugged into the game, it plays much better and much closer to real life. Check out the interview below and also check out Dan's website to see what he's got going on!

haven't tried a game yet but I got half the offense done on browns im through the te's and so far the highest rated players are Brandon Weeden @ 69 and Brandon Jackson @ 69 also.

Trent Richardson comes in at a 65 overall.

I gotta feel sorry for anybody who wants try update a whole roster file with these ratings I've started on these at like 6:30 and its going on 8 here and im not even through whole offense yet and I still have 49 players to edit lol.

No. We do not do anything with rosters or roster production. All we do is rate players.

Ratings in Madden are pretty ridiculous. Donny Moore?!?!?! What a joke.

I actually think, if you get the ratings spot on then you play a completely different game. Almost all the well known plays are 80+ in Maddens system.

These guys, FBGRatings, actually sounds quite interesting.

It's just a shame they won't create their own roster updates. Looks like I'll be using somebody elses rosters. I'm deffo not using Donny Moore's though!

While playing Madden 12 & 13 at college extensively I did plug in the FBG ratings for madden 2012. I would work roughly 2-4 hours a day on the roster, I did ratings and some equipment changes and it took me 17 days to get through 23 teams. So yea it is a huge workload as one person but honestly with Madden Share set up it will be so easy just assign on person per team to do the proper edits. & Set up a time schedule and the rosters easily could be done in around 3-4 days.

Person "Bears" do edits -- Upload to share (Next team & person in schedule ) Download latest completed team version and add edits then upload.. ect

For M13 I only completed 19 teams but I will admit the gameplay is more wide open felt more like a battle. Positioning and realism seemed to be more key but only to an extent because madden didnt have a lot (or enough of) players recognizing their position and assignments on the field. I think Madden 25 brings a big upgrade as far as making the game better from the dline & oline enhancements across the board, players need to float around different assignments in zone and the WR/DB interaction we all know needs work.

IE 2.0 is what is needed to make the players physical edits stand out even more mix that with the new fatigue will nodoubtedly improve the effects of these edits.

I believe these are key to more balanced unpredicatable out comes within the game. We can only hope the ratings play a visible and controllable effect on the game the way the should. As for Browns QB's and the legacy our QB's should be in the 60's 50's & rare 70's because Browns have been historically bad with the QB position. Willing to bet 85% of the quarterbacks we've had since 99' never seen any regular season playing time again after falling out with the browns. Meaning (they are below avg dang near on a scale of NFL talent n players (50's-60 would represent well. )

I will definitely use the edits again for M25 im not sure If I am going to scoop both current gen and next gen or next gen only. This does open the CPU gameplay up a great deal

Lol, I remade the Browns on PS3, and it takes a long time. Especially since no gameplay comes out of it for a while. You have to update the depth charts, so the right QB is starting and at other positions as well. It's quite the investment.

I like your rating style. I have two questions. When will the updated ratings be ready for Madden 25 and by the data you have humor me and tell me what would you rate Barry Sanders.

You answered your own question here. It takes SO MUCH TIME just to rate 25,000 players, that we cannot create our own roster files.

I wouldn't call re-rating over 25,000 NFL players and free agents while not having the shear time to create a roster file "a shame".

If you only knew the level of work involved I think you would choose better words. I think that ignorance to the depth of this project is "a shame".

Ratings are current as of the day listed at the bottom of each player's profile page. The only thing I am waiting on is M25 so I can get the OVR formulas for each position and tweak the attributes.

Barry Sanders now or Barry Sanders 1997? I don't have 1997 data, so I can't tell you what he was, but I'm sure it was pegging 90. It really depends on how he graded out as a blocker and receiver. Look at Adrian Peterson. He almost broke Dickerson's record and he is only an 81 or so. Why? Because to be a complete RB, you need to do more than just run the ball...you have to be able to block and catch...and DP doesn't block all that well according to the data. If he did, he would be pushing 95+ I'm sure.

Keep in mind that blocking is part of the OVR calculation for a RB...

I don't expect anything. I do it because I love it. So long as nobody does anything without giving credit or tries to profit off of the site, they can do whatever they please.

I have one quick question how updated are these because if I have the time I'll attempt to copy them and put them on Madden Share.

Look on the date at the bottom of a player's profile page.

But...

The site has Marshal Yanda rated at a 71. Tom Brady a 99 and The Sheriff an 86. My level of confusion is extremely high here.

That's only because you are used to EA's ratings...everyone over 80. Read this thread and you will be less confused. Jumping into the conversation at the most recent moment would confuse anyone.

DCEBB do you think that at any point in the future you may reach out to EA and see about joining forces to do rosters for not only madden but all games or has any dialogue between the two parties already happened?

Persoally I think the FBG ratings will benefit the next gen more than current gen if things like this :

All-new Player Sense unlocks the human element in Madden NFL. For the first time, players scan the field, anticipate situations before they happen, and maneuver with instincts and awareness. The ability to make up to 50x as many contextual calculations brings intelligent ballcarriers and defenders to life, as they sense obstacles and react on the fly. Ballcarriers leap over fallen players, blitzing linebackers slide past teammates on their way to the QB, and so much more, combining the physical aspects of football with the mental.

Players now have the ability to foot-plant, cut, and shift momentum in an authentic way unlocking the agility and explosiveness of the NFL athlete. IGNITE run-time physics calculate at twice the rate allowing for the most organic, user-driven outcomes in franchise history. Combined with the precision modifier’s vast combination of ballcarrier moves, Madden has never felt this good
