MLB 11 The Show News Post

What you’ll see is around 10 minutes of gameplay at Miller Park (which has actually been changed since this video was shot.) This is as close to direct-feed that we could get, so the quality is a bit less than perfect. Also, the audio was removed completely as all you could hear was us idiots talking in the background. This is NOT FINAL CODE, and was actually changing throughout the week that we were there. Some things to focus on are the updated player models (no more T-Rex) and the analog controls.

(The team has given permission for me to post this video)

They also don't have a Ramone. (Give the guy some credit!)

Most recently the Madden team has asked for feedback on how to handle their last roster update this year. Check out the forum.

I was complimenting the SCEA team on their dedication to us and taking our **** 365 days a year and staying proactive.

Spoiler

That's very true. I still don't understand how they put up with so much. I think they are gluttons for punishment (and they'll smile as they read this knowing that's the case....)

Haha...very true.
...and you know I give Russ all the credit in the universe.
In the short time I've known him(and the guys at SCEA for that matter)...I think the world of him.
Top notch.

The more I think about it, the more what shakedown said fit the bill.

They really DO take a lot of our ****... and keep coming back for more.

I will say that sort of abuse is certainly an admirable trait of theirs. I just personally wish it wasn't that way.

If you really think about it, a team that interacts with us more has to deal with more junk. It shouldn't be that way. We should be a welcoming community and not come off as a bunch of "friggin' ingrates."

Just rambling at this point.

That's a good point that it is two way. It's just presented in a very bad manner at times on our part...

But that's what sport video game aficionados do I guess.

Yep. and to think that it all started with one or two developers from six or so years ago.

They sure have a lot of patience given with what happens post-release and with some of the posts that come by here. Even I get disappointed when I see a "why wasn't this in the game?" or "why was it included just now?" posts.

As for the bolded part, I always get a kick when a cover-athlete does their own stance and later on it's called way off. In three years, I bet someone will say Joe Mauer's stance is off.

One a side not Corey Perry on the Ducks. Said the show was his favorite video game. That is cool. Even though I hate the guy.
You nailed it right there. When I was complaining about Wrigley, it wasn't that I was bashing on the game. The show is so good we just want to make it even better. Do you think any other sports game gets specifically picked at as much as The Show? No, because no other sports game has been able to portray a sport so accurately. The people here are so passionate for this game, that it gets an enormous amount of attention. Don't get me wrong, we appreciate all the work SCEA put into the game. But, because it is so good, some (like me) expect it to be close to perfect. Do you think the other baseball game is getting questions about whether the dalmation can tomahawk chop? Heck no, because the other game isn't close to the authenticity the show has.

In sports gaming this is no longer the case. Your 20 years has no bearance on the past 4 here at OS, where what I'm saying applies.
If you want to know the answer to that question, you can PM me.

I have been around here at OS for a few, so regardless of my work experience, I still stand by my statement.

So, just so I have it straight, it's most game developers. Wait, most sports game developers. No, most sport game developers that post at OS. Wait, it's EA... :-)

Anyway, I get your point. That SCEA is not the only team that interacts with their fans, but I don't think anyone ever contended otherwise.

I believe that they both have their own stances now...

I know the OP said Miller Park has changed since this footage, which makes me happy.

What I'm really hoping is that the new scoreboard is in. It's almost fully installed in the park. This is what it looks like right now:

I know Posey does, from the videos from CES it is not good. I have read Heyward does too, but I am not positive.

It sure is in...

Pretty much all the MLB HD boards going in the parks this year are in. They were sent the plans and layouts of the graphics from the MLB (now said layouts may alter in the real stadiums, so they had to go off of what they were sent)

Yeah Posey did have his own stance and it was wrong too. Hope it changes. Maybe a ROY and a World Series will make them rework that.

I gotta say that I've never experienced a baseball experience on a PlayStation 3. Playing a demo of 08, I really wanted to get my hands on The Show, but with not having enough money, I couldn't get the game in my hands. I do have 07 & 09 for PSP, but it wasn't the full experience. Hopefully this year, I get to experience arguably the best baseball video game of all-time on a Blu-ray PlayStation 3 system. Or I ca wait for the NGP & get MLB 12. Thank you for all the effort you guys put into this & also past games.

Aw man, MLB 11 can't come soon enough - it will defiantly the best baseball game to date - SCEA >
