MLB 11 The Show News Post

What you’ll see is around 10 minutes of gameplay at Miller Park (which has actually been changed since this video was shot.) This is as close to direct-feed that we could get, so the quality is a bit less than perfect. Also, the audio was removed completely as all you could hear was us idiots talking in the background. This is NOT FINAL CODE, and was actually changing throughout the week that we were there. Some things to focus on are the updated player models (no more T-Rex) and the analog controls.

(The team has given permission for me to post this video)

I think the fielding animation had to do with the runner obstructing Reyes a little... kind of like having to relocate the ball (I've seen a 2 or 3 occurrences of this causing errors in MLB 10), but yeah the spin probably wasn't necessary LOL.

I know this is miniscule, but I've noticed this the past few years: in a replay of a homerun or a hit near the warning track, the camera can sometimes lose sight of the ball as it travels downwards. You can see it occur in the video on the ball hit to the warning track in left field (Beltran's triple at the 7:05 mark).

Thanks
According to mlb.com rosters, Ike Davis is listed as # 29.

i also really like pagans stance. i hope the stances are good this year, does any1 know if there were any good upgrades in stances this year?

Nice to see some updated stances as well as the pre swing motion (when you press X) for Rickie Weeks especially. This year it looks like it's more fluid and one single motion. I remember last year's game which it looked like two separate motions for this.

Did anyone else notice that when David Wright walks up to the plate , 1:42 he approaches it from the first base side, after he strikes out 2:10 he heads for the other dugout on the third base side

I hope so because some people notice and care about them

I hope they fix some of those Met stances. David Wright looks the same as always, which is bad. Also Jason Bay's is way off and so is Ike Davis'. As a Mets fan I'm begging for these to be fixed.

Yeah that was 4 years ago. If you've seem him recently its completely different. No more foot motion and a lot less movement.

Oh....when you said ALWAYS....I though you meant always. Silly me.
Yes...David has indeed changed his stance...several times.

When you say "way off" it gets us nowhere. If I were to post a Jason Bay video right now, nobody would agree with that. Exaggerated? Fine. If he came up to bat with no name and no face you and a number of mets fans(maybe not knight, ahem) would know its him.

Jason Bay's Stance is quite off though. He doesn't wiggle the bat like a madman and he is open. So way off isn't exaggerated, its dead on. He bats nothing like he does in the show. Therefore, if he came up with no name and no face in the Show, I would have no clue who he was supposed to be.

I'm not trying to start any arguments here or anything, but as someone who watches the Mets every game, literally, I know what their stances look like.

Jason Bay - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jf0Pk5D5u7M

David Wright - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=My7MC...eature=related

I meant his stance is exaggerated(the bat wiggling) but in the end takes nothing away from being able to pick him out. He does have an open stance, but I wouldn't call him "way off".

To the OP: did i hear you correctly when you said you have more videos to post?

From the videos I've seen so far, it looks like many players were simply assigned another player's stance, or their unchanged stance from years past. However, some players have been given new stances, and they all look great (except Aubrey Huff and Elvis Andrus). I would assume that the ones that were changed were because they no longer worked with the new player models. At least there won't be an over-population of Generic 1 since SCEA is assigning pretty much everyone a stance now-- either their own or another player's.

You can not go by the videos you have seen. They were still working on, adjusting and adding stances while we were there, after these videos were recorded, and well after we have left.

You will have to wait till the game is final in order to fully know.
