NFL 2K13 News Post

Go Fanboy is reporting that 2K Sports has already approached the NFL about a licensing deal. Will it happen? Will we see NFL 2K13?

Quote:
"It looks like everything we had been hearing over the last year and half has turned out to be true as word is now coming out that Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of 2K Sports, has approached the NFL about a licensing deal for the 2013 NFL season. It was rumored last month that the NFLPA, the official association representing players of the National Football League, were already in preliminary talks.

While nothing solid has been worked out, all the pieces are falling into place. Take-Two has sold of several major assets - including their mega-distributor JOAG in Cincinnati, Ohio in order to raise capital. We'll keep you updated as the details emerge."

I just want a choice in all sports games. Having an exclusive deal is just your way of saying the other company's game is superior. IMO.

Even if we don't get an NFL 2K game, I'd just want a generic 2K football game with a deep franchise mode. I use to love playing Madden's franchise mode on ps1/2 now I get bored don't get past 2 seasons. EA's superstar mode is pathetic, 2K's My Player Mode is legit.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I would welcome another 2k football game. Madden has rested on thier laurels for to long.

It seems everyone would like a generic football game with a deep franchise. 2K can't make a franchise mode that mirrors the NFL without the license so it would be nothing like 2K5 probably more similar to BackBreakers. Franchise mode is huge to me so I am gonna need the license.

TTWO share price is at a year high and they look like they could reach their end of year target where as EA share price hasn't rebounded much. Even though they are a much smaller company they are healthy enough to make the investment it would need for the license. I fully expect them to bid but the NFL loves the Madden brand.

I think the NFL would be making a horrible business decision if they stuck with the exclusive license. Madden sales decrease every year. With more than one football game they would make 2ce as much money at least.

NFL 2K5 was to me one of the best football games ever. I really hope they are able to get the license because madden just keeps getting worse and worse.

I absolutely drool at the thought of an NFL2K game on the PC considering what's done with the NBA/MLB games on PC.

Please, please let it happen.

If 2k approached the NFL, then I'm assuming they went in there with some ammo - a laid out plan and vision for the game to present to the league.....possibly even some type of playable demo or prototype build with a list of marketable features. And, obviously, they displayed NBA 2k11 as proof they know what they're doing. If thats the case then I really like the chances of nfl2k 12/13 becoming a reality.

I hope this happens with the college as well, they would make a toon of money.. with Ea agreement with the clc over last week, this would make a great chance to make a college game and prepare for the NFL 2012/13.

Please keep EA's graphics away from this Football game lol.

Polygon count count is a part of graphics and this is an area that Madden has in abundance. However, what they do with all those polygons, isn't all that impressive in my opinion.

The player models are just... not good lol.

Agreed No ea Graphics on any game but there own. LOOL. 2k is just as frustrating with the lack of ambition. no communication about some of there games with the fans.. Ea Beat them in that Dept. But I just wish they would see what fans want and that is a lisceced football game, we tried all pro with the legends, alot of people liked it, but I did not., and now they have a chance to make college liscenced products again, and right now they are not being pro active while ea does not have an exclusive agreement in place.

Yeah this would be a nice move showing what they have done for the NBA..assure them that the same people will be working on it. I really hope there is another NFL2k football and College basketball game. I would be in sports game heaven

Surely someone in marketing will realize that the NCAA agreement has expired. and 2k games can come in and make a move, but they move like a snail sometimes.
