Oh just dont... i played 20~ games with this new patch in madden and i have not seen a thing like you are talking about.
And dont get me wrong , im not madden fan boy , neither ***** of ncaa or w/e , i dont even care about ncaa tbh,but i have not seen a thing in madden like that though its still has some issues on defense.
And about balls going through hands... yeah i saw it 2times, both plays were against me and ball went through my defenders hands. But its what, 2times in 100 + games ? I mean really ? Does it bother you so much ?

I'll be giving it a try later today. As for Ncaa, I sold mine after I played it post patch#3 and after all the tunings. I was not impressed at all. The Pass defense in Ncaa is terrible.(defenders can intercept the ball without even looking at it and the defenders still run the routes better than the receivers) No thanks. I just like to play online and in leagues so I'm not into all that slider stuff.

i cant get the cpu to use the gameplans i set for them after the new patch. i go to the opponent first select their gameplan back out then move to my team select my gameplan and press a to continue but my gameplan loads but the cpu automatically go back to their default gameplan, what do i do?

I love this game post-patch. Played my first game with new patch last night, and had a nice battle with the Giants. Stats turned out realistic, my zone defense worked perfectly, I got 3 sacks on Eli, and I was able to get some offense going. I racked up 79 yards rushing with Marion barber on 24 carries...all games before this, I was averaging almost 200 yds per game. So much more realistic now. I love the atmosphere on this game, and I feel like the gameplay caught up to it after this patch. NOW, if Ian will just step up and fix the dirty uniforms/scratched up helmets, and the pre-game analysis errors, I will be one happy camper. Kudos, EA.

Madden has made some great improvements, but I hate the fact that even after the patch, all-pro is too easy and all-madden does not give you realistic gameplay. I also hate that if you don't implement sliders, the game at times is impossible to enjoy. I'm really debating on selling my copy of madden. Online seems to be the only realistic gameplay that you get....but even online has its faults.
I think this is one of the most ******** points for saying Madden sucks this year. are you freaking serious? I think people with this line of the thinking has never tried sliders and found out just how much this actually makes the game play badass. Every game I play in, it plays very realistic with slider adjustments. I've been playing my football games with sliders since the day they were introduced. hell, nfl2k5 had sliders, and I could NOT play the game without slider adjustments. There are sliders implemented for a reason. The all pro and madden and rookie and all that jazz is for people that either really suck/so good the cpu has to cheat to win, or for people who play online or play vs. a friend. Sliders ftw!

I haven't seen this yet, the biggest CPU field goal I have had made on me is a 53 yarder. They usually kick a tad too soft and drops just before cross bar, or they miss it wide left/right. I put everything I had into a kick last night into the wind, and squeaked inside the up-right and it was 52 yards.

Whats the deal with splitting RB carries? I set my franchise coaching scheme to 50/50 or 60/40. Very little effect.

I also tried setting the auto sub for the RB at 97 and that doesn't do much either.

I have two good backs that I want to share the workload

The way i do it is i just pause the game and for example for 1quarter i change my depth chart #1 RB , after quarter i change it back .

As for pass defense... I don't know where to start except to say you really come off like you never played NCAA because the broken pass defense in Madden was clear and apparent the moment I picked up a controller, but I have a solid, challenging passing game out of the box in NCAA.
Really? No. Maddens Franchise isnt terrible, its just stale. NCAA Dyansty is the best? No. I sent you a PM.

I played a game after patch 3 and its definately better that it was after 2. It felt like game speed was back to normal.

Pass defense in Madden is much better than NCAA. Of course if you sit there and call the cheese plays that work everytime, yeah then you will burn every defense. Its the same way in NCAA.

I'm going to have to agree with JVM. I would like to know what sliders are you using? If I'm paying $60 for a game, why does sliders always have to be the solution. Why can't I get a quality game right out of the box. We all know that every year, Madden devs are already working on a patch even before the game comes out because they know they are shipping out an unpolish product. And its not fair when every year we go through the same process of who has the best sliders, or we have to change aspect of the game that at times change the dynamics of the game. We have the same problems just a different year. I'm not totally against Madden 11 but its just that it gets frustrating when you are playing the com and they break 3 or 4 tackles to score touchdowns or me playing with the Ravens against the saints and Reggie Bush trucks Ray Lewis in a game. That is not realistic! Not to mention how recievers has this amazing break away speed while you are playing defense(Not to mention that I'm playing zone defense most of the time). Playing defense if very frustrating this year. 2k5 was the most realistic football game that ever came out and if you needed slider adjustments, it was very minimal. We all know the routine. Buy Madden Aug. 10th every year and wait a month or so for the 1st patch so the game can be at least playable.

It's been a long, long time since I played NFL2K5, heck my PS2 has probably been disconnected for almost five years, but I don't remember this great and awesomely realistic gameplay. I remember sacks and interceptions being ridiculously easy to pull off, regardless of sliders. I remember a game that completely blew me away early on... but just like every other football game ever made... it didn't take long for the warts to show in regards to realism, balance and difficulty.

Don't get me wrong, I think NFL2k5 easily had more potential than anything EA has done on the current gen consoles, and it was very high in the "fun" factor, but I just don't remember it being this opus to football gaming perfection.

As far as the Madden patch, I've played about eight games I think. My impressions is that the pass defense is slightly improved, but I haven't noticed any major differences in the run defense. I'm not a hardcore player by any means, so maybe I've just been getting better the more I play and I've offset the gains made with the patch... Not really sure... but running / stopping the run doesn't seem to be much different.

I think because the game is different based on your playing ability. Now they make it tweakable so it appeals to more people.

I see what you all are saying. I guess my issue is that the devs played the same game that we have played out of the box. They are football fans just like us and for them to put out a game with so many flaws year in and year out is not a good thing. There are many aspects of the game that is definitely a step in the right direction but you can't tell me they are not aware of the issues because if they were not they would not have work on a patch before the game was even release..but Nunyerbiz, you bring up alot of good points. 2k5 had a great engine to start off with. there is know telling where we would be if that game would have been here.

I have to agree about the pass defense being better in Madden than NCAA. NCAA was good pre-patch but after the patches/tuners, zone defense isn't very effective. Man coverage is better, though. Madden you can play effective zone defense and also man-to-man.

I'm loving Madden 11 post-patch 1.03. Getting great games and a lot more realistic scores/stats than before.

There were no forums to congregate in and share ideas with the developers for updates. This is a privlege and one hell of a customer focused initiative if you ask me. Better yet.....go outside and throw a football around if you want "realism".
I'm speechless. Maybe this post needs to go into every complaining thread

Defense is better for me. Plus, the game seems alot more fluid with this patch. Almost up too NCAA standards. Good update.

A few more impressions post patch:

Settings:
All-Pro
7 minutes 15 second run-off (previously 5 minutes)
GameFlow
Speed Normal
Threshold 50 (previously 100)

I have not scored more than 21 points in a game. I have lost 2 or 3 of my last 4 games.

Cowboys vs Texans (me), Barber was running hard and they were just working there offense well. Schaub and Johnson were hot as well, I pulled a OT victory 17-14 I believe.

Jets vs Dolphins (me), rematch, there D' put it on me. I couldn't get anything going they beat easily.

Packers vs Bears (me), my D' was kicking there butt and causing several turnovers which I only mustered 6 points, which is not good. The second half Rodgers and there D' got hot and shut me down. Lost 10-6.

Overall loving the feel of this patch and if I continue to get good games from the A.I. won't have to deal with the headache of online; but I am itching to get on and try my luck.

interesting, seems like the only people who enjoy or see a difference are offline franchise players. really wish i could enjoy that part of the game, but theres simply no competition.

online franchise is how i get my sim fix but post-patch have yielded worse buzz zone coverage as the defenders are positioining themselves too close to one another with 0 awareness.

the cpu doesn't expose this offline, so no you won't notice it...but online you definitely will as people make what should be risky throws seem relatively harmless.

i thought defense was great last year...what they did for grab and go gamers or offline players with very limited skill is just another saddening blow to my once beloved franchise.

the graphics and lighting are better than NCAA? i havent downloaded this recent patch but did it actually change the graphics because if not NCAA KILLS madden in the graphics department. Id like to know was there a graphics update in this patch

I think the game plays good. Although, i had good sliders before..so I've always liked Madden 10 offline. Online, I think all pro is just too easy even user v user. My last game I held my opponent to 10 pts even after he dominated TOP. I'll have to get some more time to see if my defensive strategy can make online a bit more bearable vs random players.

I think some of my issues are playcalling and the other is that all pro allows a bit too much separation on passing plays. I'll just have to keep some help in 'popular' areas on the field. I don't mind ppl scoring b/c they will have success, call the right plays, and make good decisions....

i only get aggravated when they use a bit more cheesier methods b/c i give up pts before I can grasp the their tendencies...may need to use scouting reports...but i'm still a bit tentative about playing online. Overall, I like madden this year...like it better with the patches.
