To achieve this goal, the main focus for us this year has been to completely re-write the underlying logic that drives the mode, along with adding new systems that will help the AI to make the smartest decisions possible at all times. Every time the CPU makes a move, they are making it for a very precise reason. It may not be completely evident to you at first as they often think two, three, even four steps ahead, but they are always thinking, always assessing. Don't know if it's been addressed in the thread but I hope and wonder if there will by dynamic commentary this year. Meaning the commentators may say "Atlanta Hawks last year NBA Champions" in the season say of 2015. Also, say things like "last years rookie of the year, mvp", etc..

I noticed that in association mode, the intro commentator/announcer would still refer to as the Lakers as "Champions" when they did not when it the previous year. It's not that big of a deal, but it would be a nice category to the little things to make the game that much more realistic.

These changes all sound great but they don't address the biggest issue with the association for me. The past two years have offered a terrible offline five on five experience out of the box. Insane pip tendencies and percentages, horrible teammate AI and gross shooting percentages were must the tip of the iceberg of what added up to a very inrealistic and arcadey experience in offline play. If these issues aren't fixed the only reason I'll play association OS to familiarize myself with my OS Vets Rockets team.

I hope these things are fixed, but as excited as I am for My Player, online league and the Jordan stuff, I have to mention that the offline game AI has been on a slolam since 2k8.

The only thing missing are new banners hanging from the rafters after every championship we've won...I want the association to recognize my accomplishments in a tangible way.if I was racking up championships and the banners kept being added then I wouldn't ever stop till the rafters were full,no joke.even after kobe retires and goes to the hall,gasol too!

There's no way I'm the only one who wouldn't flip if this was added...and its not that what they've added isn't great,its the best yet,but add this and id be hard pressed to think of much more you can do to make improvements besides detailing/polishing existing modes..

Anyone agree?

Isn't that stuff more gameplay related than Association related?

I'm kinda disappointed because we still dont have a CPU thats scouts us and presents unique gameplans. The major problem is that every game feels like an Exhibition game. I could care less about the trade stuff because I make all the changes to mimic the real NBA myself.

If you simulate every game it doesn't affect you. Otherwise this aspect of the gameplay is the core of the association experience: offline five on five. I'm bringing it up before we even start the reattach that is the first patch list

2 more weeks!!!

No info on customizable D League, a Coaching Carousel like the college game, Draft Combine and The Summer league in Association Mode.

Guess we'll have those next year.

Gameplay and AI looks good from the demo and the many vids we've seen thus far

Nobody knew it would be barely playable until the retail dropped for 2k9 and 2k10. Not saying it will be as bad this year. Just that I remember that the draft combine played one way and then the retail version jumped out of the box with a butcher knife and hockey mask and killed our offline sim.

- Player Progression Tracking: At the end of every season, you will now be presented with a menu that will you show you how much your players have progressed/regressed since the last offseason. You�ll be able to see both the before and after for every rating, for every player in the league. This is a very handy feature that will definitively tell who is in the up-and-up, and who is on their last legs.

for those that play deep into association like myself, the hall of fame gives association real meaning. It gives you a chance to see how your players stack up to the all time greats in the sport. I already play association way after the season ends in real life (more than 1000 games). These additions are going to make me even more of a hermit lol. 2k is one of the many joys in my life year after year.
