NCAA Football 11 News Post

The NCAA Football 11 patch #3 is available now for the PS3. Will update this post when it is available for the 360.

*UPDATE: The Live Tuning Pack 3 has released for PS3, will update when it is available for the 360.

Here are the details, for those of you that don't know what is included.

Quote:
Title Update 3 (TU3)

* The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.
* Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.
* Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.
* In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.
* There was an issue with Hawaii's home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.
* Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.

Live Tuning Pack 3 (LTP3)

* Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.
* Increased Awareness progression for all positions.
* Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.
* Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).
* Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.
* Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.
* Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.
* Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.
* Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

Well I got the game this morning, and when I put it in it updated to the latest patch but I wasn't receiving any prompts to download any of the tuner sets. So I found them on here, got the first tuner set, downloaded it to a USB, put it onto the PS3 and copied it over. Then when I went into the game I got the prompt to update it, so then I had the second tuner set installed.

Did they fix the issue where ankle braces change colors from black to white when you play on grass fields???......small issue but very annoying to see.

Why would you think it won't be for another week?

Because MS usually only releases patches on Tuesdays.

The white ankle braces are still there for the most part.

If that is how they did it I am not sure I like it. Players shouldn't have to have monster seasons to progress. Alot of younger players just by getting game experience should get better as the year goes on as well.

In my opinion these following things make apretty good difference

1. Zone coverage seems viable now as i've seen players react to people in their zone. plus Man coverage doesn't have immediate jumping of the routes. I clearly threw a pick to a DB in zone coverage who read the out rout and broke on the ball as it was passed.

2. Pass blocking seems to have been tweaked. In my game a pocket was forming on both sides quite regularly, and in addition the CPU QB took off on me 4 times. He didn't get much but i'd like to play Shoelace or Pryor and see what happens.

3. the run d slider works. Nuff said.

Overall the game feels tighter now after one game played. I'm sure others will see things slightly different (example J unit and his Oregon/Pitt game), but for me i like it.

oh and one more thing....why did cowboy stadium field turf get torn up like a grass field and both sides unis got dirty?? lol. Not an issue for me just odd looking.

Later gonna check out the dynasty changes since i'm starting over....AGAIN. Anyway. All just one man's opinion and view.

EDIT: Also noticed LB's making more tackles than DB's. My game had LB's lead in tackles on both sides.

Went back to check on it. I had a 3 team dynasty going with UGA, Houston, and SDSU. I decided to make it a 12 team dynasty for recruiting purposes to see what it was like to recruit with a wide range of schools for a few weeks while waiting on this patch. While going though the teams, I first noticed this with ND and USC. I thought that their pitches were lowered during the season and they lost their pipelines because they were having bad years (I hate these schools so I couldn't resist ruining their lives!!!) but OU is ranked 7th and dominating. I was getting my proper pitches for UGA and Houston but even SDSU has their pitches f####d up. Some have went up and some have went down when I'm recruiting, but the pitches are still the same when I check the my school screen???? This has me upset because I don't want to start over Houston has the current #3 class with 10 4* recruits all from TX and LA (finished #2 in final polls with the Coogs last year and jumped on a bunch of kids this year who UT and LSU ignored until it was too late).

I would be very suprised if we got the patch yet this week. Next Tuesday looks like a solid bet.

Absolutely not true. Thursdays have been major patch release dates in the past also. Not sure of other days, but this is just flat out wrong information.

We are pretty much seeing the same things. I noticed improved O-Line play straightaway. Beautiful pocket formations easy to step up and make throws. It's also easier to scramble up the middle for HUM and CPU. Also the other marked differences are the CPU run game and the improved Zone coverage. EA didn't mention that being in this patch/tuner set but it's there I'd bet my life on it.

Anybody simmed ahead a year or two to see if the changes corrected the depth chart issue?

the OSU QB passed for 60% in my game. Too early to really say. I'd need to play a bad QB to really say so.
