NCAA Football 11 News Post

The NCAA Football 11 patch #3 is available now for the PS3. Will update this post when it is available for the 360.

*UPDATE: The Live Tuning Pack 3 has released for PS3, will update when it is available for the 360.

Here are the details, for those of you that don't know what is included.

Quote:
Title Update 3 (TU3)

* The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.
* Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.
* Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.
* In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.
* There was an issue with Hawaii's home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.
* Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.

Live Tuning Pack 3 (LTP3)

* Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.
* Increased Awareness progression for all positions.
* Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.
* Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).
* Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.
* Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.
* Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.
* Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.
* Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

Pass coverage definitely needs to be adjusted for the CPU. I just destroyed Pitt through the air with Oregon.

Possibly, but i'm playing TCU/Oregon St. and i'm not dominating through the passing game. In fact its pretty close 17 - 17 heading to OT. 8 Min Q everythign default AA besides my run D slider at 20

The cpu busted 2 80 yard runs on me in the first half, I never give up that many yards in 5 games. When they see a hole they're gone now, no stupid cover the ball animation. It is sprint the whole way. Man coverage almost seems to lose now. I'm playing on AA default sliders.

After 2 1/2 QTRs against Nebraska, here are my stats with Blaine Gabbert while running nothing but the money pass plays that usually worked against the CPU everytime(default Heisman):

16-31, 288 yards, 2 TDs, 5 INTs

Losing 24-14 and Nebraska has the all on my 17 (after INT #5)

If I had dropped the QB ACC down to compensate for the beefed up accuracy since Patch #1, it'd probably have been even worse. I also think I noticed defenders in zone doing a better job of shadowing receivers coming into their zone. I watched one dimeback do it against me and it took me a while to realize the CPU wasn't actually playing man.

No I can't help you because I've been having trouble with downloading the Tuner Sets, that's how I know its possible because I downloaded the last one from the computer.

Anybody notice changes to the wr recruits ratings in terms of elusiveness and juking ratings? Also do the kicking recruits look better?

Man coverage is a bit too loose on AA, but I didn't touch any sliders so take that for what it's worth.

This is all I've tested so far, and I haven't tested much, but so far my biggest complaint appears to have been addressed. CPU is much smarter on D now.
This sounds great. Keep us updated - particularly on the 3rd down blitzes since I know that annoyed you.

That's really good to hear about zone coverage. I was hoping that was improved with the patch because after Patch #2, it was almost pointless to call zone.

Default All American Run D slider dropped to 20.

Jaquizz's final stats for the CPU:
18 Att. 111 Yds 1 TD long of 33.

Of note the final was 24 - 23 me in OT. Both teams had LB's lead in tackles with 11 and 9 respectively.

I've only played enough for one full game, and it could be the placebo effect, but it's seemed much improved so far. 3 of the INTs I threw were on 3rd down and on plays that I would typically run on 3rd since they would beat the CPU's blitz. The CPU will still send defenders on the blitz and I was able to complete a huge 50 yard pass against a zone blitz out of nickel, it was far less infrequent and felt more like I was just beating the rush by getting blocking and making a good playcall rather than simply exploiting the huge gaps caused by the CPUs predictable playcalling.

Obviously I'll need to play more to be sure it's legit, but so far so good.

To anyone who has the updates:

How's the play action pass? Will the DEs still easily beat the tackles too often?

Good post. Overall it seems the game plays better. I've noticed better running from the CPU and better pass blocking on both sides of the ball. I can step up into the pocket with confidence now. I'm playing with Arizona against Cal and Shane Vereen has 4 carries for 34 yrds (8.5ypc) and I'm still in the second quarter. The CPU is def a threat in the running game now.

My Rush D and their Run Block and RB Ability at default. AA difficulty.

I'd like to test it more before I declare zone to be perfectly fixed, but 2 of the INTs that I threw were definitely by a LB/CB in zone over the middle of the field. I don't know if it works perfectly as it should, but it was good enough to get the best of me at least twice.
