NCAA Football 11 News Post


The NCAA Football 11 patch #3 is available now for the PS3. Will update this post when it is available for the 360.

*UPDATE: The Live Tuning Pack 3 has released for PS3, will update when it is available for the 360.

Here are the details, for those of you that don't know what is included.

Title Update 3 (TU3)

* The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.
* Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.
* Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.
* In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.
* There was an issue with Hawaii's home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.
* Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.

Live Tuning Pack 3 (LTP3)

* Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.
* Increased Awareness progression for all positions.
* Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.
* Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).
* Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.
* Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.
* Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.
* Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.
* Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

He is serious. You will have to pay to have online. It's called the online pass. For you buying it used that means an extra $14 I think. If that is the case you may as well take the used copy back get your money and buy it new. This is what EA is doing to make some of the money they lose on used game sales.

I think you have to buy an EA season pass for the game for $10.

I am not sure how that works because I bought new, but that was the big controversy this year. If you buy used, better count on tacking on $10 to that used prices.

This is some Bullcrap man! Had I known this I would have coughed up the extra 7 bucks with no hesitation. Now I've had this game more than 7 days and the vultures at Gamestop will probably only give me 15 dollars for a trade towards a brand new NCAA. Thanks for answering but I guess my NCAA experience was too good to be true. This was the first year next gen that I was actually enjoying the game. I had no intentions of trading it in as I did with the titles before. Man this really sucks and I know I'm not the only one who bought a used copy. It's not like any of us knew this would be an issue.

And before this turns into a big "thing," it SHOULD be minor. If not they'd have to seriously scale back the off-season progression, and if they didn't do THAT right we'd all be in here complaining. In-season progression is nice but I don't want them to risk screwing up all of dynasty mode just so my pet receiver can gain 3 OVR points in a few weeks.

Quick question Russ (or anyone with this knowledge), if you have read this whole thread, you will see where I've had some issues with recruiting pitches. I'm wondering if this happened because I downloaded the patch and loaded my dynasty (but didn't save it) before I downloaded the tuner update? If so, will this correct itself of should I start over???

I don't think the ROBO QB is around anymore. He's throwing wild all over the place, outside of one miracle jumpball catch deep by the WR.

Still Navy passes too much. meh. anyway i'm off until i'm out of work.

Agreed, I will be near the front of the line "complaining", if this progression model goes haywire, i.e. progression too much and too rapid........

Thanks Lam. So basically without EA online pass on my console, I can only fix half of the game's problems?(I can get updates but not tuner packs?). This stinks.............

I agree. In-season progression should not be a huge part of the overall progression for recruits, only as a small reward for some players.

Thanks man I'm doing that now. I was wondering why ppl were complaining about the Robo QB and a lack of overthrows by the CPU when I was seeing this all the time. I'm not sure if this was an issue after a patch or a tuner pack, but I would see the CPU throw deep and overthrow all the time. Now I'm wondering if I buy this thing and get these tuners if I will even like the game afterwards. *Sigh*

C'mon Fifa 11 rescue me from this because that is a true sports gaming experience. Alright let's see what happens.

Man coverage needs a boost now with the sliders, easy to run post routes. I enjoyed the cpu having a run game it really made the game seem worth the $60, that is if everything else still works.
This is what i hate about EA " Man coverage needs a boost now with the sliders".

When they need to fix something they go the other way arround...
593yds and 334 passing yds?
