NCAA Football 11 News Post


The NCAA Football 11 patch #3 is available now for the PS3. Will update this post when it is available for the 360.

*UPDATE: The Live Tuning Pack 3 has released for PS3, will update when it is available for the 360.

Here are the details, for those of you that don't know what is included.

Title Update 3 (TU3)

* The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.
* Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.
* Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.
* In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.
* There was an issue with Hawaii's home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.
* Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.

Live Tuning Pack 3 (LTP3)

* Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.
* Increased Awareness progression for all positions.
* Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.
* Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).
* Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.
* Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.
* Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.
* Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.
* Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

Greaton, do us all a favor and sell the game back and don't buy it next year.

If 1 point of in season progression tts you this riled up, just give up at this point

We both felt the same way. I'll test the cpu running game out tonight on both AA and Heisman.
I completely agree, patch 2 did ruin AA and even Varsity. I was using PM's sliders, which were giving me good games, with realistic results, but once patch 2 came, PM's sliders were unplayable, not by his fault, but because of how nerfed the CPU Offense became. The running game went out the window and there were at least 5 Turnovers for the CPU every game. So i had to switch to SN's Heisman sliders, which are working out great, but it shouldn't have been necessary to switch.

Yes there was in season progression last year. This patch is suppose to make it more subtle. I have to see it for myself. Not to say I dont believe you about this years, but I gotta see it.

It's genious if you are talking extras(teambuilder, pro-comabt unis, etc.) IMO it is not smart or ethical if by not having it people have a half-working game. We aren't talking extras here. We are talking about a game that should be fully functional for everyone that buys it.

Man,I bet ya that the Pump-Fake Glitchers for the 360 are loving this delay,they can do the glitch online for maybe a few more hours(or a few more days,lets hope thats not the case) and then their F***ed.

I go to read about how the game plays for the PS3 guys who have the patch/tuner pack and all I see is one giant flame war. Why am I not surprised?

I don't mind waiting for the patch, considering I've got a pretty big paper to write lol.
But come on, guys, can we just get some impressions on how it plays instead of arguing. It gets old real fast.

Online is gonna really suck... all these folks that cried that coverage was too hard are now gonna screaam when they realize how horrible it is now, they are gonna wish it was the way it was, all they needed to do was fix pumpfake and progression. If these. Offline guys had issues with cvrg then use sliders. Now us online guys are screwed. One thing i wish they would make it harder to throw accurrately from 20 yards back, id rather that than pass icons going away the farther back you are

This real sucks.

Impressions please! I am bummed its not out for the 360 yet either but there is NOTHING any of us can do about it.

I just simmed throu 1 season as ND, I looked 4 times during the season for player progression but never seen the +1 on any attributes. That doesn't mean that numbers didn't change due to the fact that I don't know off hand what they strted at, but in yers past they always showed +1 or +2 and I never seen that.

I just played a game in my OD (NCSU vs. North Carolina, Rivalry game at NC). I had been breezing along, but not today. The zone actually DOES work better now. Defenders in the zone stay with the WRs. Man is pretty loose. I got beat on a couple of long balls by NC when I blitzed which I liked to see. The running game was TOUGH. I usually average 90-100 yards on the ground. I know NC State's O-Line isn't great, and I know NC's D line is sick but I couldn't get ANYTHING. It's not that I couldn't get anything on the ground it's how I was getting blown up. Defenders would just rush by my O-Line and slam me. I think I went 13att for 36 yards. I got stood up 3 times on the one yard line and I couldn't get it in. I eventually won 28-25 but I had to hold on. The CPU played very well imo.

Great to hear, btw what difficulty were you playing on and what sliders, if any, were you using?

Those are my OD's settings. Another dude in my OD also played and he was getting stuffed in the run as well so we're probably going to have to up the blocking for those.

I am in year 6 of my FSU dynasty on the PS3. After my first game post patch/tuner, I had my Fr QB awareness got up "+ 1". So it looks like the patch does indeed work with in-progress dynasties.

Thanks for the info, Did you happen to see how much awareness increased for players in off season training?
