NCAA Football 11 News Post

The NCAA Football 11 patch #3 is available now for the PS3. Will update this post when it is available for the 360.

*UPDATE: The Live Tuning Pack 3 has released for PS3, will update when it is available for the 360.

Here are the details, for those of you that don't know what is included.

Quote:
Title Update 3 (TU3)

* The pump fake exploit was resolved. The entire defense will no longer rush the QB after a pump fake.
* Resolved an issue with setting SS/ FS to QB Spy and then blitzing, virtually unblocked.
* Increased the Overall rating for incoming freshman. This resulted in one and two star freshman coming in at a higher overall rating.
* In Season Progression is back! Players once again have the ability to get a slight boost to their ratings during the season.
* There was an issue with Hawaii's home schedule causing conflicts with particular teams. This has been resolved. In particular, teams in the Pac 10 and the WAC will now have the correct number of conference games.
* Resolved an issue with the Rush Defense slider where they were only impacting defensive line special moves. They have been adjusted to also impact win/loss chances for blocking.

Live Tuning Pack 3 (LTP3)

* Kick Power/Kick Accuracy progression for Kickers and Punters was adjusted to be in line with the new incoming freshmen. Kickers and punters will now progress in line with other players, but will start with a higher average overall due to the improved recruit ratings in the patch.
* Increased Awareness progression for all positions.
* Increased progression slightly for Elusiveness, Spin Move, and Juke Move for Wide Receivers.
* Increased progression of the Tackle rating for Corner Backs to be in line with WR skill ratings (Juke, Spin, and Elusiveness).
* Reduced the frequency of defenders successfully jumping the snap. Also adjusted how frequently they would jump early when the offense performed a fake snap.
* Tuned Man Coverage so defenders will not jump in front of routes so early. They will still jump the route, but not as early, or frequently, as before.
* Adjusted in season progression to be in line with higher rated incoming freshmen.
* Tuned Incoming freshman to better match the spread on the default rosters.
* Tuned team prestige progression to be in line with the changes to incoming freshmen.

I mean just because it is there, doesn't mean you have to use it. The other issue I had with the patch is, that it caused the running game for the CPU to go kaput. Other than that, dirty uniforms and beautiful gameplay from other aspects of the game. I think it is safe to say you will enjoy the changes.
Thank you very much I just downloaded the tuners. I was on AA difficulty with pass coverage at 45 for both sides before I ever had tuners (I feel silly thinking I had them the whole time lol). The 'psychic' ability of the DB's was never an issue at that setting. I see a huge difference in man coverage now it's very soft. This combined with the super accuracy of the QB's is gonna be an issue. You're right SEC I'm waiting patiently on your new slider tweaks hope you make some soon.

I don't see any players on any team that received +1 attributes during the season. I'm in Week 15.

Cough up a spreadsheet. Until then it sounds like speculation and guesswork. Did you check position-specific ratings for all players on a few teams? Did you try running an entire season and then checking? To me, "I simmed four weeks and didn't see anything different" sounds a lot like "I barely checked and am jumping to the worst possible conclusion." This place is a crowded theater - let's stop shouting "FIRE," eh?

That's not true. The second patch broke some things and the cpu couldn't run the ball at all against me on AA post patch #2 no matter what sliders I used (cpu run block 100, human run defense 0). The fact EA said they fixed the rush defense slider leads me to believe I was right. For some of us, the second patch ruined All American.

I don't want to get into second patch issues again but your statement is short sighted and only relative to your experience.

There shouldn't even be a week 15. There should only be 14. That goes for most every year. Arizona State and Stanford still play 6 conference road games and only 3 home. San Jose State and Wisconsin still only have 11 unless you go fix it manually.

The only changes to the schedule seem to be adding USC-Wazzu and Nevada-Boise, and the 1 other WAC game that was missing. It took away USC-Hawaii, and invented a game for West Virginia that they're not playing. I'm sure if I sim into season 2, I'll see that conference games still don't rotate, so this did very little to fix the problem, just took it from horrible to slightly less horrible.
Conference games don't rotate? they did in my Michigan dynasty. In year one, I did not play Minnesota, and I did play them in year 2

How about PA pass? Any better or still sack action?

How about special teams? Any easier to gain yardage??

I just found out that if you bought the game used and are not signed up with EA's Online Pass you will not see any progression or receive tuner packs. I just found out the hard way. I notice a lot of ppl saying they don't see progression and some saying they do. For the ppl who don't see it, is your game used, and if not, did you redeem the online code for Online Pass in the instruction booklet? A user named Rebel10 posted about this a few pages back.

So you're pissed off about a feature that may or may not be working that was JUST added and was not in the original game?

In the past EA only calculated in-season progression 1-2 times during the year. Have you simulated to Week 7 or 8 to see the results yet? Maybe they don't give anybody boosts through 4 weeks.

Sundown i hate to tell you it only happen to you cause your a knicks fan..lol but its a smart move by ea if people want to play a used game something should be missing , most people play online so it was genius. I'm not sure if its for all their games though.

That is a fact. I hope these updates will correct this issue and bring AA back up for a challenge again as it was perfect before the last update (or close...). Let me know what you see when you try it out tonight Rudy.

This feature wasn't even in the last few years games, were they also "broken"? God I am getting so tired of that word. The pump fake glitch is actually broken. The CPU run slider was borderline broken. In-season progression being minimal or non-existent is at worst a slight inconvenience - a window-dressing feature that has little bearing on how the game plays. Even at its peak in the PS2 years, players never progressed more than a couple points overall during the season.

Anyway: play a season and cough up a spreadsheet, or I'm just going to shrug this off. When the head developer at EA says it only affects a few players per team and only up to 1 point OVR for the entire season, that tells me that the differences are going to be minimal and hard to spot. I don't know how I can trust someone telling me that they just sorta looked and nothing changed.

I do agree the CPU running game to a bit of hit and I have never made an argument against that, but ruined... c'mon man.
All American was absolutely ruined for me with the second patch. I have had fun on Heisman with slider adjustments but for me AA was ruined. I'm not exagerating either. When I can put cpu run block at 100, human rush defense at 0 (and cpu RBA at 65) and have the best run defense in the country by over 300 yards at the end of the year with no LB rated higher than an 83 in a 3-4 defense, there was a major problem FOR ME.

Again, if you found the cpu running game fine then good for you. But for me it was ruined and there were quite a few others that felt the same way. We may have been in the minority but don't put words in our mouths.

We both felt the same way. I'll test the cpu running game out tonight on both AA and Heisman.

I bought my game new but my online code did not work. So I bought the online pass. I have the tuner pack. This is the second tuner pack I believe. In my last dynasty it did have progression after the season in training results.

This new patch or tuner was suppose to add in season progression. I don't see it. Maybe a ps3 issue? I will wait to see what the 360 guys say.

if the patch doesn't drop today (doesn't look likely) do we really have to wait another week?
