NBA Elite 11 News Post

OS'ers jtdribbles25, 23 and Jano have posted their impressions of NBA Elite 11, from their hands-on time with the game at the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event.

23 has posted a ton of video from the game on his Youtube channel. I just wanted to gather all of the videos together on one page, to make it easier to find and view.

We appreciate all the work 23, as well as the impressions, all 3 of you have given us.

To view the rest of them (17 in total), head over to 23's Youtube Channel, right here.

Help me out people please..... Am I missing something? This game looks just as good as 2K and seems to flow better. But maybe it's just me.

Very dissapointed with the videos. A lot of good comments posted above. I too am a bit dissapointed with this. I guess I'm paying $60 for NBA Jam, and getting this for free.

Yeah, lets not be ridiculous and count the game out before the demo....I have my doubts, concerns, issues etc, but until I get the feel of the game in my hands....I have to reserve judgement....this could end up being a great bball sim!

On the other extreme....can the excuses stop for that Boozer dunk? its ridiculous and should be ridiculed accordingly...hopefully the devs can catch this and address it before release..

Wait, I can't tell if you're serious or just trying to be funny.

If you want to try something new in the basketball genre I think you will like it. In past years I would say Live was an option to 2K, but now its more like an alternative.

Two completely different ways to play the game of basketball.

will def be trying both. though judging by ya'lls impressions of the controls, it's going to be even more of a chore going back and forth between the two than last year

Yea thats for damn sure haha

I try them both every year. The demo with Dwight and company was wonderful. I didn't buy the game new, but I did get it used. It was the first time I bought a live game since the early 2000's. This year, I really had planned on buying it new, because I knew it had to get better. I really can't wait to try out this demo.

Its crazy. I'm going to try both demos but for very different reasons.

I'm definitely buying FIFA 11 and NBA 2k11, now Live and Pro Evo will have to duke it out for that last $ 60 bucks. They'd better be lucky there's no more College Hoops.

I hope it is as well, because everyones jump shot looked the same. I didn't see boozer or fish shoot the ball over their head like they do in real life, and Pau's jump shot looked just like Nash'.

Nvm, just re-watched the first video and you see that Ray Allen has his signature jump shot.

Fisher's shot is still in there I shot with him it looks about the same as last year. Which was a pretty good one imo..

People are saying the build is like 2-3 weeks old. With the demo dropping in like 2 weeks there is not much they can do. They gotta get it sent to Sony and Microsoft for approval.

Was the vid where boozer dunked from the free throw line removed or something, or am I just blind?

In any case, overall I am not impressed. Visuals are below average, foot planting is nearly non existent, and player specific shots(some of which were perfect in live 10)are off. I'll wait for the demo to make a more in depth judgment.

Wow can't believe that Boozer almost warped and dunked from the FT line. Was the game speed increased? Also, the players were jumping too high. I think I'll wait for the demo.

Wow, when I first saw it I had to lol. I just played live 07 a couple of days ago, and I thought the dunks in that game were unrealistic. Beyond the obvious unrealistic distance of the dunk I see a couple other things that need to be improved imo:

1. Momentum. Nobody can take two short steps and fly like that, not MJ, not VC, not Nique...not anybody.

2. It didn't look like a jump, it looked like he elevated awkwardly, warped through the air until he got the basket, dunked, and then fell back to the ground. Players should go up gradually, dunk, then go down gradually.

3. Collisions don't look like collisions. It looks like one person jumping in the air, and moving the person they are attacking backwards in a straight line. Simply put, watch a couple some posterized vids on youtube.

If this is what real time physics translates to, then I feel live 10 had a better foundation. Prove me wrong EA!

i still like the looks of some of the guys jumpshots. not real sure on the movement of the players when they're handling the ball though. looks...weird to me. even though the videos were 'spastic' at times, nobody can get a good sense of how the game plays until they play it.

But that's the issue, the Elite staff could quell all of this nonsense by just releasing 1-4 minute snippets of game play by the developers who are familiar with the control schemes. You've got guys like Czar/Pared/Playmaker etc, who will give you guys open and honest feedback. Use the community.

I don't think anyone is opposed to the direction that Elite is taking. Its just that Elite's game play alone is going to have to justify a full purchase price for this year's iteration. That's a heavy hat to hang.

the video was taken from a cell phone, right?
anyways, the player movement doesnt look fluid, I dont know what top make of this?
