NBA Elite 11 News Post

OS'ers jtdribbles25, 23 and Jano have posted their impressions of NBA Elite 11, from their hands-on time with the game at the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Event.

23 has posted a ton of video from the game on his Youtube channel. I just wanted to gather all of the videos together on one page, to make it easier to find and view.

We appreciate all the work 23, as well as the impressions, all 3 of you have given us.

To view the rest of them (17 in total), head over to 23's Youtube Channel, right here.

Jano is right tho, if the overall look of the animations deter you from playing it's not gonna work at all for you. Some of that will not obviously change.

Props to dre for posting all these vids. If I had not been able to go I would've been really eager to see them. I would probably be over reactin too! lol.
Thank you for being honest. I do have to admit that I am fluid animations type and that when I watch the NBA 2k11 videos, I geek out like a nerdy little girl. I don't have that same feeling when I watch the vids of NBA Elite 11 though, but I do feel that EA Sports is finally on the right track with their NBA series.

Let's all hope that the videos are just that and the demo and the final build are on point.

From the vids no one seems to understand how the game even works and yet they are commenting on how bad it is. The only part i hated to see really was the boozer dunk.

Oh and is there anyway to make player stays appear on the fly or is it scrolling still?
Yea I think its fair to say its not accurate representation of the game. Things like the dribble moves, RTP, and the on ball defense couldn't even be appreciated in the vids.

With a more in control player you guys will be able to see some of the bright spots. I honestly liked playing D in my short time with the game, it was good to see no canned animations.

I saw one instance where one user was all up in the offensive players grill and he was able to guide him from the basket. That animation has been in bball games for years but the fact that it was all user controlled was cool to see.

Really going to give players a lot of satisfaction when you lock a guy up with defenders like Artest. And you know it was all you no animations helping you out at all. Blocks will probably feel the same way too.

Some people are saying its the camera work that makes the game look bad but if you check out the videos that the EA devs release as well you can see that its pretty much the same. I know EA doesnt want an animation arms race but theres no way this stands up to what 2k has shown in their videos.

unbiased, just speaking the truth

I actually get the Live 2000-01 references in terms of the movement (the way theyre leaning and what not)....which is funny...and not necessarily bad in some ways..

You go into 2k forums and live forums and post the same thing. That's usually called trolling. BTW, I see you joined three days ago, coincidently right around the time these videos came out. Hmmmm.

I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin.

one thing I like is that stealing/deflecting the ball seems much more responsive than 10. still going to give the demo a good look. but like people have said, hoping now that they've laid a foundation that they look to improve animations.

im not trying to bash the game just for heck of it but i dont care how the game feels because the players are not doing things rite from a physical stand point.

Then this will not be the game for you because even with the best users its going to have some funky things happening.

Its a good thing we have options isn't it?

shooting is pretty bad

doesnt seem signature shots are in because they all have the same robotic movement.

Elite reminds me of NBA 09: The Inside

=/

It's clearly obvious from these videos bringing in Littman was a hail mary for the franchise...Beluba went back home and apparently took all that was " sim" with him

I am just floored at how bad these looked.I just went from "2k or EA" this year to " 2k on ps3 or PC".

You have a three year plan? Well how about charging less than 60 bucks until year 3 when the game is done? These videos indicate a title that is in no way shape or form worth full price

Right. Meanwhile people who have played the game say it's more sim than Live 10. Maybe you should chill with the proclamations.

Yes and it was just terrible to see. Turk had a similar dunk to that and everyone was like WTF!! he would never do that lol!

I'm going to assume that isn't the norm...

Until they have real guys in the game, the game is still animated. Elite took out two player animations for collisions.
