The only reason we can do things like these missed dribbles, deflections and all the other times the ball pops loose into physics is because we completely re-implemented the pickup system.

I'm glad that hard work is appreciated here. The guy who worked on that feature will be pleased to hear it.
Not only does the pick-up look much better, but it seems player run to the ball and have urgency to get it. No more jogging to the ball. That's a major plus. Hopefully we can manually dive to the ball also.

Reanimator... Have you ever seen a three-man collision in the game?

Videos were great.

Please take out Ron Artest dunking from 1-step in from the FT line though

If the ball is "live" ala Fifa, you guys are heading in great directions. If you can take out that "Tip the Rebound to myself" canned rebounding animation from Live 10 and you can get some good rebounding battles in the paint, it's going to be incredible. The swat off the glass gave me hope.

I'm not sure if this part of the game is your responsibility but take a look at the 7 Lakers on the Lakers bench and the crowd behind them after this "collision" and successful dunk.

Can you point this out to someone on your team? HUGE play, at home & no reaction.

That rebound anim is long gone.

I really like the new physics direction that elite is taking. It will really make for a great game.

Lol. As a man of the old skool, I can appreciate such vocabulary as the slang for the word "FRESH"...and that word definitely fits what I was thinking. Actually, the slang "DOPE!" initially came to mind but it's all the same and from the same era. Haaa...

rEAnimator - I am loving how this game is shaping up. The early vids were a nice little taste of what to look forward to. The more polished 5 on 5 vids look really good even though the quality of the vids is low. I can't wait to have this game on my new LED 42" 1080p-er...although, unfortunately, most games on the PS3 only go up to 720p but still.

Keep up the good work. I is-a excited-a.

Couldn't stand that Artest dunk but the idea behind is great though, just had to pretend that LBJ not Ron lol. And its nice to see that take off and defensive positioning will play a role this year.

Liked the way Bynum was chasing the ball after he lost it. Generally, I'm impressed.

ROTF@Sheed That Kinda Brought Back Live 95 Memories When You Dunk On Somebody And They Point At You And Bynum Losing The Rock Was Nice And The Block Animation Was Real Nice....Seriously Thinking About Buying Both.....

Artest dunking like Kobe overshadows the in air collision.

re: Artest dunking over Sheed.

First up, not only should the dunking style/distance be different, but so should the jumping height. If you look at any of the clips of Artest dunking last year, you'll see that he barely get's the ball above the rim. Sure he can dunk, and strong too, but he gets not lift.

Now, to the physics. I know it's been mentioned that Artest doesn't alter his shot, but ideally, not only should it be possible that Artest is bumped into an altered shot/ circus shot, but IMO another possibility should be an altered dunk.

Basically, the collision of bodies has the same or similar affect on Sheed, but also causes Artsests hips/ torso to get bumped in an appropriate direction while his arm continues the dunk.

All I'm saying is that altered dunks should still be able to result in a dunk finish, not an adjusted layup.

Reanimator, Is there anyway to fix the dunk by Artest and anybody else who dunks like that but shouldnt? Is there enough time?

In terms of distance from the hoop, or in terms of the style of animation?

# 75 Hulkules @ 08/07/10 12:32 AM
More the distance.. Thanks for the reply.

I'm guessing both

Distance, absolutely. That's something that's easy to tune (assuming the ratings are consistent across all players that is).

The animation side is a little more restrictive. I have no idea if his dunk package has been assigned or not. If it has been assigned then it's likely to stay as is.

But the distance he can dunk from is definitely still open for tuning (and could likely continue to be tuned post ship).

# 78 bigball12 @ 08/07/10 12:42 AM
rEAnimator, you guys still did not add assistant coaches on the bench? These benches need to be filled out more, and maybe even have a second row like in real life!

# 79 bigball12 @ 08/07/10 12:45 AM
And please, get rid of those long dunks! Nobody in the game except for the Elite dunkers (Bron, Derozan, Amar'e etc.) should be doing those dunks from that length!

Thanks for the response reanimator, the dunk packages can be more signatured next year but hopefully you guys can tune the distance just right... That dunk was Lebron like..
