tried running nothing but vertical routes. 1 for 14 in a game with Florida vs Florida St.
--------
The running game still impresses me each time I play the game. I'm loving the blocking and how rewarding it feels to follow blockers, find a hole, "get skinny", and take off for a long run.
Eager for this game to drop.

Really enjoying playing the demo right now. I think this is the must Ive played a demo ever. The graphics seem to be alot better, love the intros to the games and the ESPN presentation.
Come on July 13!!!

Demo just froze 4 straight times for me. I hope my 360 isn't dying. Again.

The short zone issues happen regardless, even if the player has 100 Awareness, because the game has the drop zones coded incorrectly.
Further, if you have to give every single defender a 90+ Awareness rating to get decent AI (and I don't concede that it would be decent), then doesn't awareness as a rating become irrelevant in the sense of differentiating between players? So if you do that, then you basically turn every defense into the same team, more or less. So now what separates teams like OU and Texas from Missouri and Clemson, in terms of team defense? Very little.
And what do you do when these super aware players are reacting unrealistically well to situations that are not impacted by these particular AI problems? Imagine a game where defenders virtually never bite on play action, or where misdirection plays never work. Wouldn't that game be just as broken as the current version of the demo?
Finally, even though EA has this tuner thing, it's highly unlikely that they are going to implement such a drastic "fix" for online play, which makes any attribute editing pointless for those people who are like me and don't primarily play offline against the computer, but instead play online.
I am very certain that this will require a patch -- probably a massive one at that. And until I see hard evidence that EA has successfully implemented such a patch, then I see no reason to think that the final product will be that much better than the demo. Past history suggests that any changes between the demo and final code will be minimal, and that subsequent gameplay patches will also tend to be minimal and fail to address major AI issues. There's no reason to think that things will be different this time.

i've played 2 games of the demo, and so far i'm having more fun with this game than i've had in years of video game football. the animations, tackles, graphics, and overall game play are simply superb, imo.
i searched in this thread but couldn't find anything about it, i was lined up to kick the game winning FG with 4 seconds left, the CPU calls time out to ice me, so i line up again, they call time out again. I noticed this happened in last years game, the CPU would burn all of their time outs right in a row in this situation. Anyone else notice this? it gets annoying especially if they have all 3 time outs left.
I wonder if the players will take off their helemets in real version. It seems weird to see the players sitting on the bench or in post game celebrations with their helmet still on.

Played about half a dozen games on the demo this week. Idk, the game was just ok to me. I really wasn't feeling the locomotion all that much, if anything I felt it was worse than Madden 10. With the improved blocking I was averaging about 8-10 yards a carry on AA. On defense, the cpu was killing me as well. I don't think I saw a punt in any game.
Presentation was really good. One thing I didn't like tho was the cut scenes of the fans. When I used Clemson, alot of the fans were wearing red #11 shirts. Come on EA, I know some of that was taken from Madden 10 but could you at least change the jersey number from Fitz's...or at least put them in Clemson orange?
Overall, I probably won't be getting the game. I can't figure out exactly what it was missing, it's better than either of last years titles, but I still just wasn't feeling it.

After playing many more games in the demo tonight, I'm incredibly excited to get this game already. One of the most exciting parts for me is that I'm enjoying playing defense again! No more super-sim'ing defense all the time. I couldn't stop playing with Clemson tonight simply because of their LE. What a beast!
Also, there are so many little touches that are awesome. And to me, the game feels much better than '10 did (the addition of locomotion makes such a huge difference here). Overall, I simply can't wait until this game comes out. It couldn't be soon enough!

there is a glitch in the demo that causes it to crash. It has been fixed for the retail version.

Anyone know if there is an option in the final game to turn off all cutscenes and/or replays?
I have to say....While ignoring all of the minor glitches, this may be one of the best football gameplay sims ever. I have gotten used to the movements and it no longer feels like players are "skating."
What kind of camera angle options are we getting this year? Broadcast perhaps? ANy allowance for cpu v cpu?

my goodness there are some vicious hits in this game. I just laid the wood to a receiver stretching out to make a catch for Ohio State. He stretch and I popped him with a LB. He didn't get up.

I find that reblitzing the DL is the way to go to get them to take a good hard charge up field.
Ive put the demo to bed though..I know what the game is going to be, and what I am going to have to do on the defensive side of the ball, so I dont see the point of playing it anymore.
Looking forward to hearing user vs user feedback,

Just saw a cutscene of players on the sideline doing the Gator Chomp as I moved down the field. Not bad.
I'm no EA Sports *****, but it seems to me that in the NCAA Football series in the last few years, EA has the right idea but wrong implementation. It's like whenever they recognize a flaw in something, they overcompensate when fixing it, which creates another flaw and the cycle continues. I don't think there will ever exist a 'perfect video game'. But why do I get the feeling that the Madden developers invest a little more time and attention (I'm not a Madden head, so feel free to correct me if you disagree)???
For example, what the heck is the deal with the Quarterback Sneak play? I thought this would be fixed this year. There is no reason why on 3rd or 4th and inches the QB would take the ball and fall flat down on his belly for no gain or a slight loss. At any level of football, the QB gets behind the line, lowers his head, and drives his feet until he can't move anymore, or finds a crease and quickly lunges forward! I don't see what's so hard about creating such an animation.
Previously the play was abused because of poor animation (QB running a straight-up sprint through the line as soon as the ball was snapped). Then in 2010 to offset that, they made this 'fall on your belly' animation. Totally sucks. It's 2011! Let's get it right EA!
