I'm with Jukeman on this one...I'm just not feeling this demo. I still have '09, and may just hang on to it for my UFC fix. Going to re-read the previews and such to get an idea of what changes to career mode were made.

I've seen a video on Gamespot where they were playing the actual game, and yes the clock does run that fast in the actual game.

It doesnt really bother me, I just hope the speed of subs are turned down when the game comes out.

I was really hoping they put Bruce Buffer's over-excited announcment voice in the game this year.

"FIGHTTINNNGGGGG, out of the blue corner......."

yeah. 2010 REALLY messed up the standup. I want 09's gameplay standing with 2010's career mode.

They really messed it worse that I thought. I can win whenever I want by using garbage tactics. Jabs and straights are 100% worthless, it's an LB fest. Why does a left hook have more reach than a jab? ugh. I was so pumped until I played it a lot and now I'm honesty considering not getting it.

I'm going to post on the community forums a bunch to give them my feedback because I hope in the future they don't stick with this standup. It's totally deflated my anticipation for the game. So disappointed. I'll probably buy it and beat the career on an easier difficulty so that I can mount believable offences. I'll only keep the game if online is better (which I doubt because throwing bombs is the only way to win)

I don't know guys. 2010 is better in just about everyway from what I am seeing. KOs are slightly over done. Which like stated I believe will be tweaked. They did it last year and I am sure this version will be no different.

Game is deeper, more variety, nice fluid striking, balanced pro/con system. Just in about every way I see this a improvement on last years.

but you can't mount a believable offence and win - that's the problem. For some reason they slowed down the jabs and straights AND made you have to fully complete the punch before throwing the next one. If you jab, the punch must return to the ready position before you can throw a straight unlike last year where you would throw them like a real person - beginning the next punch as you're pulling back the previous one. Jabs and crosses are also slower in general. this means that a left or right hook is pretty much just as fast meaning why throw a jab at all when there are openings?
Another thing about them being slow is that you can connect but be hit by a power shot even after landing a punch. What I mean by this is, that I could jab you and after you see your character being hit you could throw a hook and hit me because of the time it takes to retract the punch and cover up. Last year you could also change the trajectory of their power punches by landing 1-2's...i haven't really seen that this year.

Power punches are also overpowered for the game imo. Rampages lb punches are more powerful than Shogun's head kicks. I know this because I hit him 8 times in a row with them and was ko'd by his hook many times.

Elbows are also too common. Last year you had to be right up in the other guy's personal space for the game to initiate them, now the distance is larger and I find myself throwing them when I don't want to.

The biggest and best improvements are the cage interaction, posture system, and new muay thai plum system. The striking on the feet in general is much worse than '09 mainly because it forces you to be offensive or counter in pretty silly ways a lot of the time.

Try this insanely common real-world combination 1,2, leg kick. If you do this in 2010 you will get murdered. If you still have '09 or the '09 demo try the same thing and it's pretty bang-on. Or 1,2,3 (hook) or anything that works off the jab or straight. it's FUNDAMENTAL. I have no idea why the decided to ruin it; but they did because they would have actively had to change things. It's a very big deal to me and kills the experience to a large degree.

Thank god for red dead redemption lol

I agree with what you are saying 100%. but I don't think it distracts from the ONLINE portion of it for me. Both parties have to adjust to the differences and compete. You can still create real world styles. It is just the combos are not as smooth. Instead they put more emphasis on counters.

So yea, I understand from a X/O's stand point it is not 100 accurate. But from a competitive online game for me. it is pretty darn excellent.

I don't know if this has been brought up already but, has anybody tried playing the tournament mode in the demo??? It has an option to play in sim mode or arcade. I've been playing on sim mode and noticed that flash KO's don't happen that often or quick. I have also had a good amount of fights go to decision. I personally think that the exhibition mode is set to arcade in the demo, and thats why these random KO's happen and people can't seem to make it past the second round.

To put in the sway system they kill how the combos work last year,In short run it sucks a little but long run the stand up game will improve because of this and you can't spam LB + power punches/Kicks against a human because they either sway or catch your kicks all day.

The only thing i don't like is Machida special leg trip which is over done,It won't be a big deal for me because i favor bjj and judo guys but for pure wrestlers it is.

Interesting. I'll have to try this out.

Would love to hear others' experiences with this, as well.

That's the only mode I have been playing lately. Seen a lot more TKO's in Sim mode also

No the only difference between Sim mode and arcade mode is this.

Sim mode = Only 1 of each fighter can be used

Arcade mode = You can have any fighter multiple times on a tournament bracket so you can have Rua vs Rua. That is the difference I have tried it out.

Not all bjj fighters do the rubber guard,So shogun and machida who have never used a rubber guard in fight in mma don't have the rubber guard. The rubber guard should be in game still

You are right. I just played it on arcade mode and seen what you are talking about. I just know that I have better fights in Tournament mode than in exhibition. Maybe I'm just getting better. Either way I don't think the retail game will play like the demo's exhibition mode.
