I was Rua an rampage had me clinched against cage. It was a pure struggle but I was able to turn him up agaimnst the cage after about a minute of clinch work.
I must say expert level is no joke. I never got my butt kicked this many times on last year's demo, good lord. EVERYTHING is hard to get on this level. You really have to pay attention or your butt is toast very quick.
Ok I lost like 8 straight against Machida as Shogun on expert. It was my first time fighting against him. He dodges shots to his head like the matrix. I beat him just once by a TKO because I was focusing on bruising his ribs and legs. It took 6 tries to try to finish him after being rocked and falling to the ground. Occasionally, I threw in a head kick or a left hook to catch him off guard.
Yeah if Machida is like the Matrix on expert, then Anderson Silva must be a god. I am dreading facing Brock and Shane Carwin on expert now LOL. Heck I am dreading facing GSP too.
Man i'm lovin t demo so far. I've been playing on Expert all day and have been winning most of my matches. I managed to beat Machida, Shad, and Rampage with Shogun on Expert.
The only way i could beat Rampage was to take it to the ground and mount him. I caught Rashad and Machida with some clean shots and KO'd them in the stand up.
I really love the SWAY system, the striking is just unbelievable. And i LOVE how its harder to posture up in the Mount. Now when i play online it wont be such a cakewalk just by getting the mount everytime.
WOW you can sway on the ground too !!!!!!! I was mounted by Rashad and I just swayed left and right blocking all his shots LOL. He threw 20 strikes, none landed, he got tired and I simply pushed him off with my legs. that is awesome
I played the hell out of 2009 but never seen this, so i dont know if its new or not.......
I notice when i land a few good strikes the opponent gets rocked a bit...but its not the usual rock where the screen turns gray and crap. Its just slighty, they stumble and they start to back off...and thats the point where you go for the kill.
Its like the point when you smell blood(best way to explain it)....and just rush in to end it.

I did notice this. Your description was perfect. They start backing away... then you can just swarm them! Awesome feeling.
Been really enjoying this demo. I've already played it way more than last year's demo, which I thought was great, as well, but it didn't hold my attention for long. This one has me trying to figure out my ground game since I've gotten my upright game tight.
No reversals except from slams in the clinch
If you mistime your sway, you will be punished.
It feels like transition blocking is on auto or something and it's a race to see whoever gets three transition attempts. When I'm on the ground this year, I don't hold the RS back and I'm still transition blocking.
Right now, I'm playing on experienced. I'm gonna have to change up my game for this year. Last year, I dominated on the ground by winning the guessing game and reversing guys all over the place until I got to mount.
You can still reverse the ground game. I dominated Rampage and Rashad by just reversing everything they did on expert. The problem now is, I can't beat Machida as I can never hit the ground with him. He stuffs all my transitions and kills me in the stand up. When I do manage to take him down, I can only go as far as mount down. He'll reverse my attempt to posture up. He always goes for the takedown and gets it most of the time, but I don't wait to try to reverse it. I try to get back up since I'm down on the score card. It's not going to look good to the judges if I'm on my back the entire time trying to time the reversal. The reversal windows is really small for Machida.
If the game is really this challenging on expert and it's just not me getting adjusted to this game, this will be a blast on career mode. I agree with Anderson Silva must be a terror..... B.J. Penn and GSP will just dominate too as they are near impossible to take to the ground with outstanding stand up game.
What do you mean cage walk? Push them toward the cage? I'm not sure if you have to gain the advantageous position, but push the left stick toward the cage.
No..........if you mounted on the ground near the cage, you can walk up the cage using your back. Machida does it to me all the time when I take him down near the cage.

I have a feeling this isn't in this year. Sucks because I was hoping it would be.
