Talk about a saving through.
I'm not giving up on anything until I see legit, commentated gameplay, but I highly doubt the final product will be all that more improved. Unless they can eliminate all the sliding jerky animations and we really see what this locomotion stuff got.

That video for example...
They say they are not allowed under NDA to disclose anything about the game, but they sure as heck will jump in the fire with both feet to defend something that is released that other players dont agree with.
There has not been one year yet that the community day people have been upfront and genuine about the game, and I dont expect this year to buck the trend.

And once again regardless of the motivation of the guys attending CD it is still something that happens. I rarely hear about the flaws in the retail version when we hear information coming from CD.

Each year its the same song and dance.
I guess if everyone wants to get all offended around here, I guess I could get offended by being flat out lied to every year by some of these people who are " in the know " . I choose not to though because after several years, I have learned my lesson.
I can pull up posts from many community day people over the years that have either flat out lied, given " mis-information or whatever you call it so it doesnt sound offensive, or changed their stories once everyone got the game and called them out on it.... Only thing stopping me from doing it is that I enjoy OS and have enjoyed it for the past 6 years and dont feel like getting banned because some people will get their feelings hurt, or " offended " as you put it.
It's not that we don't want to talk about what we saw, but the NDA prevents me from saying anything about the game other than discussing the features they release...
it's not like i can give you a review and break down everything i saw and what needed to be improved on. I can only speak to things like lighting, locomotion and the other bits and pieces they keep releasing.
This was my first community day, im not sure what happened in the past, but im not shilling for anyone, i'm just stating my experiences with the features as they release info about them and trying to answer specific questions that relate to those features.

Ryno - sounds like the way EA sets you guys up then is that you have not choice but to be their mouthpieces. And that's just plain wrong. If they can't let the community day be what it is intended to be then they should just quit having them IMO.

but now it's evolved into a 3 day event held much earlier in the development cycle that is intended to provide feedback to the development team about the game, new features and what needs to be worked on or improved before they start finalizing their work...
i don't think it's a marketing deal anymore, in fact, they really discourage us from telling people were going, and then after, yea, they don't want us talking about things we worked with them on until after they release info on the features... who knows, things could be totally different now from when i saw them... heck i play 3 builds in 3 days while i was there, each one different.
Anyone who feels like a company (or their "mouthpieces") has lied to them or misrepresented their product, should really take a stand and never purchase a product from that company ever again. Period. It should be about principle.
If you let a company "dupe" or "swindle" you over and over again because you need to have your "football fix" then you're just a... {Insert over the top internet hyperbolic statement here.}

jfsolo, I know you're probably not speaking directly to me but rather in general but I have not felt like, in most cases anyways, that EA has ever swindled me in regards to NCAA. The game is not where I want it to be. However with any big company it's definitely buyer beware and as many have pointed out in this thread, they will manipulate any advantage they can. That doesn't necessarily mean they are lying. It just means they are manipulating the situation to their advantage. I think that's what "community day" has become.
Ryno - You make a good point. It's not really community day anymore. It's beta tester day. A community day implies that you are a liason between the developers and the community. That is not what you or others are with all of the NDA stuff. You are basically a beta tester with input. They should quit calling it community day starting next year IMO.

As for the rest I'll just say that your post is a perfect example of why I wouldn't go to a CD event if you paid me. Imo it's an utterly thankless task.
I'll go to a "Community Day" and say whatever EA wants me to say. I'm comfortable being a shill for insider and advanced knowledge. Not saying the CD guys now are, just saying *I* WOULD be :P
