"For this update transactions are up to date as of January 24, 2010 (NHL, AHL, Elitserien, SM-Liiga, NLA).

One new player has been added to the game: G Jarosloav Janus (Norfolk Admirals).

Along with that, ratings have been updated."

What's in Tuner Set 1.03?

For online the duration of the post-whistle time has been reduced, and a few gameplay exploits have been reduced.

For offline play once you have the update it will be applied automatically if you still have the Tuning Set option set to Latest (which is the default). Otherwise you can set it to Latest or V1.03. If don't like the changes or prefer to finish your current Dynasties/Be A Pro with a previous tuning version you can also change it (under Gameplay Settings/General). V1.02 is what you'd be using right now if you have the previous update and are set to Latest.

For online play everyone uses the latest tuning update.

There are quite a few changes involved in this update so we'll be watching closely to see how things play out and make any adjustments that are necessary.

More detailed notes on the changes should be posted on the NHL forums/blogs tomorrow. I'll make sure they end up here too."

What they should fix is the lame cheese board play, and self boarding, itīs warping suction into the boards.
Also the insane amount of pokechecks, which only result in penalties if you deke, which is lame.
Also, pre emtive sticklifts gotta result in penalties more.
And come on , the insane amount of people laying all over the ice to cover ice, and in front of the net is crazy. Make diving pokes result in penalties 50% of the time if you do it in the offensive zone. Tripping.
You're not kidding. I played a guy last night whose main idea of playing defense was to have his guys flop all over the ice in all zones. You'd be laughed out of the NHL if you did that in real life. There should be more negative consequences for diving down too often. Perhaps program the game so it takes a lot longer for you man to get back into the play if you dive down at an inappropriate time.

while I agree to some extent on both the poke check and stick lift being a bit too effective (my idea for the stick lift is that the attacker should be able to 'brace' himself for a stick lift, that is, if they press a button down (say the right analog on 360) and time it with the stick lift attempt, the attempt will fail?)

for poke checks, i'm not sure what needs to be done. they feel good but they are over used. they should be 100% control to make them require more skill, but that is probably an NHL 11 idea.

the one thing EA has to be careful about is taking too many (effective) tools away from defense so we end up only having the body check as our only weapon (remember previous years before NHL 08 / 07? terrible!)

I agree. Checkfests (NHL 2005 comes to mind) are even worse than excessive poke checks.

How can I get the update for Xbox? And will the stat changes apply to people in Be a GM? Because I've got some of them on my team.

You have to have either Live Gold or Silver, and it should just say there is a Update for you to Download when you start the Game Up...

And I believe it has no Stat changes on a Current GM Mode you would have to restart (with those Rosters you Downloaded)... I think
