While the new gameplay features sound great, I'm disappointed there wasn't more mention of the upgrades to franchise mode since that is all I play. I also hate that weather didn't make it in again. Right now I'm leaning toward saving $60 and keeping 09 for another year.

Ramone from SCEA mentioned there were quite a few upgrades for franchise and I am sure we will see them in a developer blog.

Year in and year out SCEA not only steps up to the plate but knocks it out of here! Just unbelievable!

Every game you produce shows your knowledge and love for baseball...

We are the beneficiaries. So thanks SCEA and everyone involved in polishing this beautiful (baseball) diamond.

scooter...

If I recall correctly I think you can still play on manual fielding and not have the meter displayed as well.

Man read all 20 pages. Everything looks awsome. The only problem now is that I have about 2 months to play/finish the many games I have in rotation because they will all be sitting, collecting dust when this one drops.

While this might benefit those that enjoy a "realistic" season, those of us that enjoy multiple seasons in "our" team don't get excited. With the way that SCEA works I am sure there will be tweaks that make this feel fresh..

Possibly more stats and stat tracking..better budgets....FA/trade logic.......would all be welcome to us Franchise users who would welcome the tweaks.

Yes, if you dig around in the Sounds of the Game thread you'll find sound clips of chants, yells, and other crowd interactions. Being able to add these to individual players (and to specific situations) would add a lot to improving the stadium atmosphere.

Russell, is this for games in real life, or does this apply to games happening in my franchise? Didn't seem clear to me.
I'd really like to know the answer to this question, it's been two years now there are live scoreboards in the stadia, yet a score bar with around the league updates is strongly needed imo.

awesome fact sheet anyways......

This is what I'm looking for. Something to make me want to stop my current Cards franchise and put down $60 to start a new Cards franchise. So far I haven't seen enough to make me want to do that.

That was a pricing mistake that was cancelled by Amazon. I dont' think anyone is actually getting it at that price.

I thought they reneged on that offer. They said it was a mistake.

I don't think they're going to honor that price.

Well, if it's implemented like I hope it is, it should work pretty closely to a camera relative to that which you see on TV when you're watching an actual baseball broadcast. That is, the camera is positioned and stationed (immobile) at one location near about the upper deck, and it only swivels and zooms to track the ball. It won't pan and swing about, and instead will follow much more closely to an actual broadcast.

I only hope that they really perfected the algorithms, and that for things like deeper fly balls they have a system where the camera may slightly zoom out to get both the ball and the fielder in the same shot, and close in on them as the ball begins to fall. I hope it's not just tied to the fielder per se, or the "shadow" of the ball (the ground directly below its path). It would also be nice to see what no-doubter home runs look like in this view, as in how the camera tracks the ball.

It should be exciting, and a breath of fresh air for the series that has had the same camera angle for over six years now.

Custom Music, Fan Yells, and Chants – New to The Show this year, users can now assign music or a recording to an entire team, not just a player. Edit tracks to assign batter walk-up music and assign it to play for the team or player during the situation of your choice.
I'm so happy for this. Assigning HR music for each individual player was a @%#^*

Great post.. this is what I am hoping also. What you said abut the camera zooming out to get the fielder and deep fly ball at the same time has been an issue with me.. along with how the camera tracks HRs.. (i.e. Fenway all you got was a zoom in of the monster wall instead of seeing the trajectory of the ball going over the wall)

I'd like to know this as well. I really hope it's for games within your franchise.
