Sounds mouth watering.

Just a couple questions, when you say you've got 400 new batting stances and pitching deliveries, how many of those stances include practice swings and post pitch routines? Cuz some superstar players have generic batting routines that take them completely out of their unique stances Evan Longoria, Upton, and Carlos Pena come to mind (I watch a lot of Rays games).

And will there be more generic faces to create a player from?

Russell basically said collision detection was NOT fixed, however they did add more animations so that hopefully we'll see fewer of these.

Loving tweaks to ball physics. Always a good thing.

Loving the new camera addition....still wishing for TONS of camera choices or a user-defined one, but I'll take what they give.

Loving new stadiums...especially the classics. I hope they add a few more as downloadable...Tiger stadium would be cool.

Loving HR derby...I hope it does record-keeping just to make things interesting.

Interesting. I always used pitching/outfield view when pitching so which is the real chart? My franchise ERA was around 3.70 so I guess it didn't effect me. Anyways, I just read about the progressive commentary, could this be similar to what 2K has been doing in their games lately?

I was hoping for analog pitching & hitting but you cant have it all. Maybe next year.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Russ said that Collision Detection is impossible for this game, because if they turned it on, it would need to be on all the time, which means players bumping into each other all over the place.

Both the outfield view and pitcher view charts do not flip. No matter what view you are using you have to imagine you are the catcher (with the batter facing the pitcher.) It's confusing though because when you use the pitcher/outfield view you are seeing incorrect info. I heard it was that way in 2008 and surprisingly was not addressed in 09. If it's not fixed alot of noobs will be pitching to hot zones they think are cold zones.

Oh well, at least I know the truth, just trying to help.

If online works as promised, I don't know how I'm going to find the time to eat, sleep, or work. I've been DYING for a fully-functional, smooth baseball game online. This could be the year!

This sounds amazing. Just amazing. Plus I'm sure there are many more features, tweaks, etc. left to reveal in the coming weeks.

The only problem is how bad this makes the other sports games look. I wish I could lock the EA NCAA Football dev team in a room and force them to play The Show for a week straight. "See, this is what you should be doing!!!"

Looking forward to March to say the least, Russell, Have you guys changed the scrolling ad's in the background in stadiums such as the Giants and Marlins, it truly makes it impossible to hit using the outfield view due to the ad's that are dominated with white. The upper deck ad and a couple more have so much white in them that the ball blends into the ad. As for leftys there's no chance to pick up the ball against them, in those stadiums. The game just looks too good on that view and in 09 most stadiums it was no problem to pick up the ball as in Atlanta, and New York, I just hope you guys used darker ad's in those stadiums were there we scrolling ad's on the back wall. Just wanted to say thanks though, being a baseball junkie who was a Giants draft pick it would be nice to play as my favorite team in a franchise and not have to struggle to play games at home. Overall Great '09 game and '10 looks unreal.

all these addtions are nice, but not worth 60$. 40$ at most. If you can SCEA try to run MLB 10 through a patch.

uh, they say it is fixed every year, and it's the same mess. lag , choppyness and delays. i'm not gonna believe online is fixed until the game gets reviewed by some trust worthy people.

As like 99.9% of us, I cannot wait for this game to drop in March. Annual leave time.

Is someone a litttle cwankey?? lol. I suggest you read the LONG list of new features and then look at games like Madden, that just insert new tackling animations then charge 60$ every year. Thats what your talking about I think

# 136 skeem @ 01/05/10 01:53 AM
I dont think there is collision detection, just better animation and player placement so you dont see the players go through eachother.

# 137 jsg @ 01/05/10 01:53 AM
another $60 to spend in March. this game looks amazing

The weather is very disappointing. Doubleheaders/rescheduling is a big part of roster strategy.

Opening/closing roofs would be nice too. In addition to them always being open, when you started a night game, it was really dark because the lights were for whatever reason, not on full strength for the first 2 innings of the game or so (even though they always would be on full force no matter what). Perhaps variable game times...not just 1 and 7? Perhaps we can pick (this would save Cubs Nation from having a heart attack over not enough day games at Wrigley)

Someone else said it, but I'll ask as well...would an extra inning day game turn into night time? Last year it couldn't, which was a little weird.

DL problems...if I remember correctly, if you have 5 people on the DL, then the AA team is 5 players short? This is especially frustrating if you're in AA on RTTS...as a relief pitcher, I was pitching like 10 games in a row because we didn't have enough pitchers...which brings me to....Single A? Eh? Eh?

With Roster Control on...no injuries...very uncool...I guess I sort of see the logic in why, but I am fine getting 18 popups that say I need to go fix the rosters due to injury before I advance the day, it's better than there being no injuries just because I want to make sure the lineups and rotations are right.

Then I'm not 100%, but I felt like the camera angle affected some things. With the strike zone on no mistakes, I would get a full length of the baseball off the plate on the left side, and could throw the ball just about entirely in the zone on the right and it would be called a ball. Since the camera is slightly to the right like it is for most major league broadcasts, it seems to me that the camera threw it off. I also think it was a major problem for Left Fielders. My RF could fire home with no problem, but if my LF would usually throw closer to 1st base than home from the same distance. If my theory is wrong, maybe someone can correct all that for me.

The catchers calling pitches is the coolest thing in the history of ever...

I'm with ya!!

...I wish they would have WEATHER...ugh, it is such an intrical part of the game (football moreso, but baseball as well...the beginning AND end of the season it gets coolllld, so I wish they would do something about it) - doubleheaders are a MUST!!!!

...agreed, I wish they'd fix the actual start times of the games (NOT JUST 1:05 pm & 7:05 games) - I play as the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field "day games" MAKE the Cubs.

...and yes, I hope if a day game going into extra innings eventually turns into a night game...I hope so.
