I like the way Varsity is playing right now with my slider edits, but if I see some silly late game AI from the CPU, I will not hesitate to switch back to All-Conference.

CPU had a big foul disparity, shot more 3's, still need to experiment.

It's not all bad. I'm a little more positive than my previous post from earlier. I just played an enjoyable double overtime game against Oklahoma State on the road. All the while I kept playing, I kept saying to myself "Almost there, this game is almost there". It really does have a lot of potential and overall it is fun. I'm just a little miffed that the sliders don't seem to be as effective as they should. I should preface by saying I'm playing on Varsity, and perhaps moving up to All Conference will at least strengthen the CPU's intelligence. It's just annoying to see them shoot every time they throw it in to the post. It doesn't matter if they are double teamed.
Watched some CPU-CPU action and no matter the level the CPU never ever passes out of the post. Takes away from the great offensive structure in the game as teams don't really run an offense all the time as if it gets to the post, the possession ends with a shot.

It's definitely not as well in the case of NBA Live where the general consensus here was that PRo played better with slider settings which was NOT the case...

Once Dynamic Update actually works, I think this game will be there...almost.
As everyone else is saying, once the big man down low gets the ball, he simply turns around, and does a little jump shot. I have blocked this shot 80% of the time it happens. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
Presentation is amazing, I love the CBS Sports option. There are plenty of glitches in this game that I know can be fixed with a simple patch. So until dynamic update works, and the glitches are fixed, I will be playing CH2k8 as it seems to never fail.

So then what is the consensus? I hear people going back and forth between Varsity and All-Conference. After all the slider tweaks have been said and done, does varsity or AC give you the best, most realistic, most enjoyable college bball experience?

Finally caved in and bought it, had to get my hoops fix.
I'm the kind of guy that played 2k8 religiously, loved it, so I was wary about trying this game out. I'm super happy with it though, through 3 games I've had a blast playing.
Couple vids:
Rautins shakin' and bakin' then hitting the toilet shot, and frosh Kris Joseph with a LeBron-esque block at the other end.
Frosh Brandon Triche with the ankle breaker and the open three.

All of you guys that are posting positive things about this game, do you just play quick games? Or have you played the dynasty mode? Personally, dynasty mode is what I look for in games, and well this dynasty mode sucks. It's flat out terrible. Recruiting isn't hard, if there is a 5* recruit that is interested in your school as "highest" you could offer him a scholarship and you'd have him. The schedules are random, yes I know dynamic update isn't out yet, so when it is out I hope schedules are fixed.

Honestly Dynasty isn't worth touching until the authentic schedules are out, for now! It's just play now and tournament modes. Oh! and Online!

1) Yes - recruiting can be [too] simple if a recruit is highly interested in your school. That being said - they have scaled back the number of 5 star recruits and if you are at a school that sucks - it does take some effort [and valuable points] to land a big recruit.
2) Truth be told - I find the recruiting in games like NCAA football and CH2K8[especially] VERY tedious. I like the simplified approach.
3) My biggest complaint about dynasty is how it is organized [or lack theroff]. While it's not hard to find the stuff yo want - surely they could tie it in together so it's much more user friendly. That being said - all the info you want is there.
4) The rankings -compared to last year (which were a complete joke) it's much improved and somewhat logical.
5) The schedules..game came out last tuesday and 7 days later the correct schedule wll be in place. I dunno - I can't penalize a game based on that. It's inconvenient and annoying - but I can't trash the whole dynasty wbased on that as a factor.
