Have we got any solid Dynasty impressions in this thread yet?

How is the recruiting? Big names schools normally get big name recruits? Top 25 look correct with no 15-20 in rankings like on the demo? How does it stack up against 2K8's Legacy mode (which I know is hard to do)?

I also set the slider low post strength to 100. My bet is we will see an update with this issue soon.

I don't know about you but my zones get crushed on rebounds. AI eats me up on o boards in zones. I run a lot of mans and thats where I see the pop outs.

Are you running original rosters? Because if you are not, forget about the pop out!
Thanks, I will try that. Also hoping that some sort of fix would be part of an update. I haven't used a team that plays zone, but I will be on the lookout for the offensive rebounds once I use one of those teams. I will also remove the update once I fire it up in a second.

You know what is interesting is that there are complaints about the rosters and ratings but with default rosters, I'm getting really close stats for all of my players. I don't need a foul update because with practice I'm making moves that generate contact. If they could somehow make the pop out better would be golden. I'm already playing in dynasty and love it.

The dynasty is deep for me. I always got caught up in the mega options that 2k gave us for dynasty but honestly I got lazy and didn't use half of it. I like the way your AD emails you and tells you what players are interested in the program. The customization of schedule is cool in that schools can decline to play you. I was sweating out with no redshirt options but I found that as well. Honestly, these options are all I need. I just hope that a lot of people give this game a shot because we will have some fun online as well.

I simmed a season last night.

My first impressions of recruiting(I did all the recruiting for Wright State). Honestly, if the player was the highest interest in my team it was really easy to get him and it seems no other team really had a chance since I didn't fail to sign anyone.

I signed 7 guys. Five 3* and two 2* players. This is basically right for Wright State because the incoming freshman were right around or below the average rating on my team. The two star players were rated worst on my team. Also, none of the players I signed were getting real interest from major schools, so that might have been why it was easy for me.

Toughest places to play change year by year thankfully. Xavier was 5-24() and they dropped out of the top twenty places to play.

You can't see past the top 25 in RPI standings which is pretty annoying, and I can't find anyway to check my team(hopefully it's possible).

The yearbooks, which show the team leaders and recruits you got last year, seem to be off. It does not include seniors for some reason, because in my first year two of my seniors led a couple categories for my team, but are not listed as the leader for that year.

I was invited to the MAC after the first year(18-12 no tourny), I accepted just for the heck of it.

I'm simming the second year right now. After the first month, top 25 is really nice, no terrible teams rated high.

After second month most everything looked fine, but Duke was #1 at 18-5 and there was a 19-2 Texas team ranked 4th. It looks like Duke was #3 before the #1 and #2 teams lost, so they just dropped one spot each and Duke jumped to #1. Also, Wake Forest was ranked 25th at 12-11 That was the only questionable record in the top 25.

3rd month, everything looked fine basically. Texas was getting screwed still IMO, as they were 25-2 and ranked #2 and UK was 24-4 ranked #1. Not that big a deal to me. No bad records in the top 25.

If you look at Bracketology, you can see the RPI rating(although not RPI ranking) of the teams that are automatic bids, best of the rest, and on the bubble.

For tourney selection, there was one that I thought was wrong. West Virginia(17-14) made it in over Creighton(22-6) and UNLV(22-8), who both had better RPI's than WVU.

Like Vechi said, I like how the AD will email you to tell you that a certain player is interested. Your game will get picked up by espn if you go on a winning streak, and you AD will inform you of it. Not sure what it's like for majors or low majors, but for mid majors it seems if you win 6 in a row or 9 in a row your game will be picked up for tv.

Compared to 2k8, I'm not really sure. You only get to recruit seniors, so 2k has it beat there. I felt it wasn't much of a challenge to sign players, but it was only players who had the highest interest in me with no majors involved. I think it's more of a challenge in 2k8. No weekly highlight show, or preseason show. Tourny selection is just voiceovers(I've never watched it myself, but CB and a few others have mentioned this). I'd say 2k's is still far better, but this is a decent dynasty mode IMO.

I forgot to check the top recruits, but based off of looking off the all american nomination list, I'd say the top players go to the top schools. There were probably 4 or 5 freshman who were standouts, and they were all with big schools. I'll try and look tomorrow for this.

If there is anything else specific you want to know, I'll check it out, but it probably won't be till sometime tomorrow because I'll be gone tonight.

They jus need to adjust some body types of some players whom are too bulky.

Nope. I wish there was an option for it though. I like options.

Free throws can be a son of a gun in this game sometimes.

Zones do usually get outrebounded because it makes it harder for you to box the offense out. I mean, you will obviously get some boards, but it just limits your defensive rebounding so unless you just absolutely can't get a defensive board when playing a zone, this is actually realistic. Also, I have never been more stoked about the varying ways the net rips on this game. I've always wanted a BBall game that had the different ways the net moves depending on the shot, and I finally got it.

Guys I'm going to attempt to do a roster set for the 360. My goal is to do one or two conferences per day (Will probably squeeze in a few more than that when I have the extra time). I've managed to get all of the SEC done and only have 5 conferences worth of coaches left to complete (I edited ALL coaching images to try and mimic the real life coaches).

UK's team has been edited as detailed as possible in terms of look and accessories (no ratings touched on any players). I also did a few UT players as well such as Tyler Smith, Wayne Chism, and Bobby Maze. Other than those, the rest of the players on all the SEC teams have been updated with just names and their hometowns. Unfortunately the only foreign country listed is Canada, so any foreign player is automatically given that as their hometown.

Honestly I've been so immersed in updating these rosters and coaches, while also throwing in some playing time, that I haven't checked if EA has a way for us to share our rosters like 2K? I haven't bought a EA college basketball game since PS2 (being the huge College Hoops 2K fan boy that I am ), so any insight on that would be great. I'd love to be able to share what I've done thus far, and hope to complete, with anyone who's interested.

Is anyone seeing the CPU fastbreak? Be specific about level of difficulty too. I haven't seen the CPU fastbreak much on both Varsity and All-Conf much. Even against a team like UNC.

Also, are you able to fastbreak vs. the CPU?

Can you send me a message when you are done? My gamertag is Skihawks...

You can upload your completed roster file to the EA Locker for everyone to use....
Appreciate it.

yeah, just played a few hours ago on AC playing 15 min. halves. they did run 2 or 3 fastbreaks i think, they're a Balanced team.

and yes i can run fastbreaks on CPU too, but 1 out of 4 times i think the CPU defense got back already so it cuts me off. Last game I played i had 12 fastbreaks points. he he he. hope that helps.

# 813 yokiisthename @ 11/21/09 05:16 AM
oh here's the thing though, i think i never saw the CPU run a break after a rebound. It's always after a steal.

# 814 yokiisthename @ 11/21/09 05:20 AM
I think the "foul out" bug from last year is still in the game. LOL. I had a player fouling out but is still in the court. Try to subbed him but nothing happened. He finished with 12 fouls. ha ha

not really. I've seen them, but they are more the exception than the rule. Transistion game is easily the weakest part of the gameplay this year. Shame too. Because with the fluidity of the freestyle passing, I could see people pulling off some very sick plays this year.

yes the sliders are capable of producing this...

game def has pluses and minuses the sliders do work and are numbered this time around. first time ive seen that for next gen easports basketball games. that alone is cool if not nostalgic. It's like "ohh they they of me..." type of thing LOL.

But anyway yeah this games fun. haven't said that in awhule about a EAsports game since NFL Street 1. BUT I mean that as a compliment.

Either way some things can be really fixed to be playing better with sliders (and gosh forbid a roster tweak too )and I've seen that working right away.

Tomba,

Would you mind sharing the settings and sliders that you play with?

# 819 footballfanatic1 @ 11/21/09 11:42 AM
Has anyone lowered the collision animation slider? I find it happens a little too often...even when I try to avoid the defender by using the euro step/spin move/hop step, I always get sucked into the contact animation.

^ I didn't play Live, but I read alot abut that. Might try that out and see if it helps. Doesn't happen that much on Varsity, but annoying at times. Sometimes I am forcing so I should get punished. I believe some of the guys in the Live forum found a way to do your moves that would lessen this, but without playing Live much not exactly sure?

So last night I saw some odd play. I played Duke at Michigan and Manny Harris tore me up for 37. He was 15-31 from the field, but what was odd was he would get a pass and just jack it up. He did that at least 8 times and pretty much made all of them. Not sure how I feel about that, a couple other Michigan guys did that as well. I think I read about this happening in Live in well, again not fully sure.

Getting blown out playing any ranked team on Varsity which is good, just need to get better. Vechi, you were right about the fouls, learning how to use controls better and am getting fouled when taking it to the hoop. You seem to have to start your shot from further out to kick the animation in. With fouls at 100, the first half of my game saw both teams in the penalty which is where I want it to be, but the second half it was not close to that level. Mostly because Michigan was jacking. They are up-tempo so maybe this is why they are jacking?
