Have we got any solid Dynasty impressions in this thread yet?

How is the recruiting? Big names schools normally get big name recruits? Top 25 look correct with no 15-20 in rankings like on the demo? How does it stack up against 2K8's Legacy mode (which I know is hard to do)?

I don't know about you but my zones get crushed on rebounds. AI eats me up on o boards in zones. I run a lot of mans and thats where I see the pop outs.

Are you running original rosters? Because if you are not, forget about the pop out!
Thanks, I will try that. Also hoping that some sort of fix would be part of an update. I haven't used a team that plays zone, but I will be on the lookout for the offensive rebounds once I use one of those teams. I will also remove the update once I fire it up in a second.

You know what is interesting is that there are complaints about the rosters and ratings but with default rosters, I'm getting really close stats for all of my players. I don't need a foul update because with practice I'm making moves that generate contact. If they could somehow make the pop out better would be golden. I'm already playing in dynasty and love it.

The dynasty is deep for me. I always got caught up in the mega options that 2k gave us for dynasty but honestly I got lazy and didn't use half of it. I like the way your AD emails you and tells you what players are interested in the program. The customization of schedule is cool in that schools can decline to play you. I was sweating out with no redshirt options but I found that as well. Honestly, these options are all I need. I just hope that a lot of people give this game a shot because we will have some fun online as well.

I simmed a season last night.

My first impressions of recruiting(I did all the recruiting for Wright State). Honestly, if the player was the highest interest in my team it was really easy to get him and it seems no other team really had a chance since I didn't fail to sign anyone.

I signed 7 guys. Five 3* and two 2* players. This is basically right for Wright State because the incoming freshman were right around or below the average rating on my team. The two star players were rated worst on my team. Also, none of the players I signed were getting real interest from major schools, so that might have been why it was easy for me.

Toughest places to play change year by year thankfully. Xavier was 5-24() and they dropped out of the top twenty places to play.

You can't see past the top 25 in RPI standings which is pretty annoying, and I can't find anyway to check my team(hopefully it's possible).

The yearbooks, which show the team leaders and recruits you got last year, seem to be off. It does not include seniors for some reason, because in my first year two of my seniors led a couple categories for my team, but are not listed as the leader for that year.

I was invited to the MAC after the first year(18-12 no tourny), I accepted just for the heck of it.

I'm simming the second year right now. After the first month, top 25 is really nice, no terrible teams rated high.

After second month most everything looked fine, but Duke was #1 at 18-5 and there was a 19-2 Texas team ranked 4th. It looks like Duke was #3 before the #1 and #2 teams lost, so they just dropped one spot each and Duke jumped to #1. Also, Wake Forest was ranked 25th at 12-11 That was the only questionable record in the top 25.

3rd month, everything looked fine basically. Texas was getting screwed still IMO, as they were 25-2 and ranked #2 and UK was 24-4 ranked #1. Not that big a deal to me. No bad records in the top 25.

If you look at Bracketology, you can see the RPI rating(although not RPI ranking) of the teams that are automatic bids, best of the rest, and on the bubble.

For tourney selection, there was one that I thought was wrong. West Virginia(17-14) made it in over Creighton(22-6) and UNLV(22-8), who both had better RPI's than WVU.

Like Vechi said, I like how the AD will email you to tell you that a certain player is interested. Your game will get picked up by espn if you go on a winning streak, and you AD will inform you of it. Not sure what it's like for majors or low majors, but for mid majors it seems if you win 6 in a row or 9 in a row your game will be picked up for tv.

Compared to 2k8, I'm not really sure. You only get to recruit seniors, so 2k has it beat there. I felt it wasn't much of a challenge to sign players, but it was only players who had the highest interest in me with no majors involved. I think it's more of a challenge in 2k8. No weekly highlight show, or preseason show. Tourny selection is just voiceovers(I've never watched it myself, but CB and a few others have mentioned this). I'd say 2k's is still far better, but this is a decent dynasty mode IMO.

I forgot to check the top recruits, but based off of looking off the all american nomination list, I'd say the top players go to the top schools. There were probably 4 or 5 freshman who were standouts, and they were all with big schools. I'll try and look tomorrow for this.

If there is anything else specific you want to know, I'll check it out, but it probably won't be till sometime tomorrow because I'll be gone tonight.

They jus need to adjust some body types of some players whom are too bulky.

Nope. I wish there was an option for it though. I like options.

Free throws can be a son of a gun in this game sometimes.

Zones do usually get outrebounded because it makes it harder for you to box the offense out. I mean, you will obviously get some boards, but it just limits your defensive rebounding so unless you just absolutely can't get a defensive board when playing a zone, this is actually realistic. Also, I have never been more stoked about the varying ways the net rips on this game. I've always wanted a BBall game that had the different ways the net moves depending on the shot, and I finally got it.
