shadio - You can have an awesome experience online, you just have to be in a sim league where there are many rules and everyone plays by them.
I was in the Extreme Sims league last year and it was the best experience I've ever had with NBA 2K.
yeah i heard of leagues, tried it and i felt the change in sliders made everything feel weird to me...sure the sliders helped out on exploits, but the changes were a bit to extreme. My point here is that the typical gamer will always jump into the ranked games area and come back complaining saying "2k9 was the worst game ever"....lol, i cant even take a online gamer serious...online gaming is for fun, its not made for real competition....
both games will REEK online, but live online will be broken..live online will have smooth animations (smoother than 2k) because there wont be many users on and people will come back saying "live10 online experince is better"...lol
Excuse me ya'll, but shadio take that 2K corporate-sponsor-I-want-a-job-with-2K-they're-the-best-company-ever-I-gotta-2KSports-tattoo-on-my-lower-back s*** back to the 2Ksports forum. You're one of the reasons I removed that site from my bookmarks, just couldn't take it anymore over there with the 2K corporate fanboys.
Let me inform you, OS is a sports purist site. We love sports, we love this sport and any game that does a good job representing it. I understand working for 2K would be a good career move, but there's a "Careers" link on their official site.
Damn I wish I was a Mod! I CAN'T STAND the 2K vs Live s***
If u dont focus hard enough u would think the 2k gif is one of the real ones.
The thing that really gives away the 2K gif is something that has bugged me for a long time. The defender should not be jumping to block the shot. He has zero chance of making a play there, so he looks like a total fool. No basketball game has ever gotten the "give up and let him go" scenarios right. I'm guessing it may be hard to code that kind of recognition into the A.I.
Exactly.. I can be impressed by a trailer that is showing brand new gameplay mechanics and direct comparisons showing improvements from last year's game. Aside from the putback (which we've already seen in the Combine), there was nothing like that in the trailers that 2K has released really. Nothing new here aside from pretty animations and pre-game stuff... That's the difference though, aholbert. If 2K released a video showing off their improved help defense and it looked really tight, I'd say as much.. they just haven't done anything of the sort yet, just the normal edited trailers showing the prettiest stuff they can find.
And yep, my post was totally negative.. didn't say one nice thing about the trailer. Way to paint me into a corner guys haha.. I'll stick to my 2K forums LOA until the demo drops. Haha, not even worth it.
I'm with you Stumble..what you said was not negative at all..
Yeah online gaming shouldn't be a priority when looking for a consistently fun gaming experience. For 1, lag kills the gaming experience. And 2, you have a lot of ppl online that will do ANYTHING to win.
I thought 2k9 was great offline. Defense was also fine in my 2k9 game. It wasn't perfect, but I haven't played a perfect sports game yet. It also takes a lot of statagy and in game adjustments to win. 2k10 will be superior to the competition once again. And it looks like they are putting in a lot of work to polish the game from last year. The turbo meter is a great idea. And also 2k's has the my player, nba today, summer league, d-league, crews(for you online heads) etc...
2k seems to be working hard and I just don't understand why they can't at least get the benefit of the doubt (like the OTHER game). At least until the demo and/or actual game drops. Let's keep it real here...2k basketball has been the consistently superior game on the next gen console and I think they deserve more respect. Just my opinion.

that turbo meter might just be the ONLY true thing needed in 2k10 to make things EVEN. This alone might correct TONS of problems that lay in 2k9...but yeah, i love this time of the year. i love it because its funny how people get caught up in gimmicks for othergames only be disapointed. watch how fast the switch to 2k is.....everybody will come back....some even crawling back..lol
even though i'm not a trailer guy i much rather see unedited videos...that being said this vid served it's purpose it's pretty sick...i love the way the crowd looked and reated to that kobe gamewinner...it's funny my friends that like live is starting to get nervous

As they should be getting nervous! This game is going to be serious!
it's funny my friends that like live is starting to get nervous
Nervous...? Is there an office pool I don't know about betting on Live vs 2K competition this year? Money involved? Pride & ego at stake!?!? LOL
Don't know about anyone else, but I would think we all love bball, so the more the better. Personally, my budget allows for me to cop 2, s*** even 3 bball games if there's 3 good ones. Actually, soon as BehindShadows finishes his CH2K8 rosters I'ma be going hard on 3 bball games anyway, got CH2K8 just waiting here for him (props to BS, I see your thread you doing your thing on those rosters man!).
But you right though, anyone who gets "nervous" about having more than one company providing us with solid bball gaming would be lame X100. LOL
The song was hot, I watched the trailer with my speakers off and was like not bad, then I turned up the music and I was all in..looking good, now 5-5 before 10/6 will make me happy..
Nice. The main difference I see between Live 10 and 2K10 are blocked shots and attempted blocks. In Live 10 the defenders just kind of try to block something in the air while the 2K10 defenders try to actually block the ball. Not a huge deal though. Both games are looking nice.
till this day NBA 2k9 IS GREAT....wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than even live10 (yes, i said it). with 2k9 you cant truelly experience the greatness unless you play fully offline with it.
VC/2k sports fan
why would you even say that 2k9 is better than live 10 when you haven't even played it yet. 2k is a good game and always have been but you can't say the last year's game is better than the next years game when it haven't even came out yet.
YES! finally got to see it! it was agonizing reading through this...its a good thing it got derailed somewhat earlier on so the wait was a bit more bearable lol
Good stuff MO!! it says trailer 1...how many more we getting?
