NBA Live 10 News Post

EA has posted another NBA Live 10 blog. This one covers, shooting the rock. Screenshots and 10 minute gameplay video included.

"Hi again Live fans. Well, this is the last gameplay blog you guys will see before the NBA Live 10 demo hits PSN and XBL next week. I’m really looking forward to seeing all your homemade videos and reading your feedback. Keep in mind that the demo isn’t final code, so it’s really just a taste of what you’ll see in the full game. Take my word for it, one of the real strengths of Live this year is playing with and against all the different players and teams, which unfortunately, you won’t be able to do in the demo. But I’ll let Novell speak in more detail on just how deep the AI upgrade was this year and how we took player/team differentiation to the next level with Dynamic DNA. I know you sim-heads out there are gonna love it, so expect that blog in the near future.

But with the demo coming soon, we thought it would be good to give you one more tutorial to help you hit the ground running with some of the new gameplay mechanics. And today we’ll talk about everybody’s favorite subject: shooting the basketball."

OMG this game looks so unbelievably great...

Bring on october! Can't wait to play it...

That gameplay 5-5 video is just awesome. The atmosphere is off the hook! The defense chant in the raptors part was so intense.. giving me goose bumps...

Liking the stat overlays and the broadcast style, the wrap up replay after the knicks game, It looked so real...

Live 10 Dev team, thanks for bringing Live Back and making it look like the best looking basketball game ever! Unbelievable you guys were able to make such a giant leap in almost every department of the game!

Is that why Marv Albert called it the Knicks Arena?

Leaps and bounds over last years game. I love how the CPU plays. Also, you could really tell the difference between playoff games and regular season games. Awesome to see Detroit playing in the Finals.

Well the "passing" blog and this blog, just sealed it. Unless the demo somehow (yeah right) is a major letdown, I will be buying a Live game for the first time since Live 04. I can see myself being in the lab for hours trying to pick up the nuances that they have introduced this year. Hopefully two great b-ball games and NBA League Pass FTW!!!

the Heat center had a clear path to the hoop and passed out of it

either that or he's lamenting the fact that McDyess and RJeff both have 24

They used to have it in live 08 too. I would love to see the MSG on the court and TD Banknorth in Boston and would love to hear them say the names.

it won't be like that when you get the game. We had to keep his number that way b/c McDyess hadn't announced what number he'd wear by roster cut off.

Both defenders failed to disrupt the bounce pass. There's also other instances in the video where defenders don't acknowledge the ball when it's passed right infront of them.

Thanks. Can you confirm that you can edit the numbers of players on CPU teams in franchise? Also why dont you guys make it impossible for two players to have the same number on the same team?

I feel you on that, a little, but I subscribe to the adage that no game is perfect. There is a bunch of that even in 2K10's combine but there will be sliders, right Marcus?

Questions/Comments for EA guys-

This might be just me, but the momentum shots seems counter intuitive - the hop jumper should execute if release the stick, and the one two jumper should be if you hold the stick - as it appears the one two jumper will send you further in the direction you're holding.

Also do these momentum shots have different shot types? Like rip hamilton does a momentum shot off screens but his shot release/gather doesn't take as long as it does in this video.
