NBA 2K10 News Post

NBA 2K9 led the league in sales and critical acclaim last season while battling against inferior opponents, and has in general been leaps and bounds ahead of the competition for years now. In other words, it's tough being the king. But with the competition finally showing signs of life, NBA 2K10 is now looking to show that it has the goods to hold onto the crown.

As far as animations go I really hope BOTH games can update via patch so all the arguement about having this over that can be nulled. The truth is things that happened last season won't all carry over this season. So ability to patch moves, sig tendencies and intros would be fwd thinking to me. In that case I wouldn't sweat what either game has. The REAL factor is the X's and O's and which game FEELS better controlling the player. Were in 2010, these games shouldn't be locked when shipped. As I said before the next installment of anygame should just be the hardcore execution, presentation, commentary lines, graphics engines etc updated. Little stuff like sneakers, animations, intros should be sent monthly in a patch. I really think Live has this. I hope 2k does as well... Sorry if I went off on a rant lol

the gameplay this year according to draft combine is amazing.. and the combine is only suppose to be 2k9.5 which leads me to thinkin abou how much better 2k10 gameplay will be

Real assistant coaches have also been added. And I would know since I personally witnessed Patrick Ewing sitting reluctantly on the Orlando Magic bench as he waited for someone to offer him a head-coaching job.
lol

There was something wrong with the lobbies, too many people, especially the higher ranked people, would just sit in there and not play anyone. There's no reason to have ranked lobbies when people can duck players.

No, I don't believe so, what they mean is the rituals that certain teams do before a game. Like Cleveland and that picture taking thing, or the Lakers with Lamar Odom in the middle of a circle. But not the starting lineup one by one.

I just want some dang-burn vids of the game. That teaser was not much of anything although u could gather a few things from it. I hope they are piecing together a nice scrumptious trailer to get my mouth watering on some marvelous ish (hmm, that sounds familiar...). Live has me salivating from all the info AND trailers. 2K is just a bunch of info with next to no visuals to go with it. I'm starting to feel like I want both games, again...then again, I feel like Brett Favre....and I'm a Libra, too...Oooohhhh, the decisiooonnnnssss-ss-s!

To the guy on the 2nd page:

The Draft Combine and 2k10 are seriously two different games. Items are left out of DC that are in 2k10 because for one, it's only $5 and secondly, it was added yet.

If the DC doesn't have something you want, doesn't mean 2k10 wont have it either.

Real Starting lineups instead of just an overlay. At least in the playoffs.

[Rant] If these games really wanted to mimic television broadcasts, then they would have the actual starting lineups. Only nationally televised games (TNT/ESPN/ABC) skip over the starting lineups, and even they show the starting lineup presentation in the playoffs (or at least the finals) and the first game of the season. I don't know if 2K10 differentiates between them (I know Live switches the presentation & scorecard for "ESPN" games in its franchise & play now games) but that would be more accurate, as every local CSN/FSN broadcast shows the starting lineups. One of the most misguided changes both companies have made. Starting lineups always got me more amped for the game, even if they end up getting skipped, they had a better chance of being re-watched over time.[/Rant]

The read sounds really good! I like the fact that they enhanced the blocking..

# 56 Pared @ 08/27/09 04:57 PM
You have to at least try the demo of the Draft Combine Dave. The block/tip dunk/lay up animations are crazy.

Hey I'm also big on the idea of starting lineup intros.

# 58 texasgmr @ 08/27/09 05:18 PM
Great read and thanks for that! This game sounds amazing yet again. From the presentation additions to the 10 day contracts and also player intros, 2k10 is going to be amazing!

There are also signature introductions for just about every NBA team in the game. There are also unique player introductions.

nice!!

I'm really excited with this game. If there are the starting lineups
