"A rookie defensive back sealed the fate of the Ravens today, sending the Titans into the second round of the playoffs in Madden NFL 10.

The Tennessee Titans (9-7) took on the Baltimore Ravens (10-6) in the opening game of the AFC Wildcard game today in a crazy back and forth game filled with dazzling special teams and defensive play. QB Joe Flacco threw an interception as time wound down that rookie CB Ryan Mouton intercepted with less than 20 seconds to go in regulation to seal the Titans victory."

PLayers do get sucked into plays alot in the nfl. It ain't no bug. you are right me friend. People think if a player gets sucked in a fake are something it is a bug. It ain't If happens in real life.

Reed on the other hand the first time it was run it was cover 0, the second time he was the deep safety and he does not do a good job of coming up at all. You say it is not a bug, but it is.

It happens on more than just this type of run. If you look at the video you will see it on a lot of the running plays. Guys just standing still waiting for the blocker, I mean not even moving. Actually if you look at the very first video, the very first play, off tackle play. Watch Jarrett Johnson. Sure the run gets stopped, but an OLB has to move. Johnson should have gotten up the field and forced the run back in to Pryce. Instead he stands there motionless and waits for the blocker and lets Johnson go right by him.
I guess we have different definitions for what a bug is. To me a bug is an unintended consequence of programming. Your complaints (and I agree with them) are simply a matter of the programming not living up to your standards of realism. To me, that doesn't qualify as a bug. But this is all just semantics.

In my honest opinion you need to get rid of the entire running animation system, it just does not look realistic.
Players cut on a dime, slide their feet, swing their arms to wide, etc. etc.... I have no idea in the world how anyone can like the way these players move it looks horrible.

Like how can you look at this game and say it looks realistic? Madden has had 4 years on next gen & this is still what they bring to the table?

Ian Cummings you want a better realistic football, spend the WHOLE year working on animations for Madden 11. Sure you have great presentation & everything else but once the players start moving on the field it looks unrealistic.

Have you ever played Nba 2k9? For the most part it looks like a real Basketball game, 2k sports to me has always had some of the best animations. It's a true shame that their is only one football game out rite now every year.
I'm a die hard football fan & I must say this game just does not look real.....

I pray the Ea license gets destroyed so more Pro football games can be made!

Hit the nail right on the head.

I've said many times that Madden has made some nice improvements but the biggest issue I have is the animations. I just won't be able to look past them. When I have a breakaway TD I want to see my player run for his life. Not see him joggin.

Anyone have any idea what the "BOOST STATS" means at the end?

Overall the gameplay was okay, just things like depth chart, player models and player numbers where things that where wrong

Is that suppose to be John Harbaugh??? It looks nothing like him

Kelly Gregg and Ngata are not big enough. Gregg looks really thin and he is very wide. Ngata legs and arms are far too small as well

Ngata being pushed back by Michael Roos, wouldn’t happen in real life on a running play as it did many times in this game>>

What happened to “players play to strengths and weaknesses like never before”, Baltimorelace’s defensive line is one of the best in the league and they where getting pushed back on running plays.

Le’ Ron McClain is not big enough, the guy is built like a tank

Ray Rice wears 27 not 39

Why is David Hale starting? If Yanda is inured Chester will start and I have seen lace chester in this game so he should be starting

Also why isn’t Gaither playing LT and Oher playing RT, I can only presume he got injured but if he’s not this is a joke, Gaither – Grubbs – Birk – Chester – Oher is our starting offensive line, we don’t have a retired RT playing and a back up RG starting

Flacco stance and throw looks amazing

Crowd is great

Love cutscenses

On the goaline in the first quarter the ravens wouldn’t let a huge whole open for collins to flop over in for the TD, very bad AI and ravens would never allow that TD in the fashion they did. What happened in video 4 on the goaline is much more realistic against the ravens

Love the unbalance line that the ravens use

Ravens offensive line looks too small, Matt Birk has a huge upper body and Grubbs is a very big man with a very thick mid section and legs, they all look rod thin

Did I say that I love Flacco’s dropback and throwing motion, its perfect

Michael Oher looks way too thin. His arms and legs are huge. He is built like a truck, not fat but huge arms, legs and very thick. Looks skinny here

Its pronounced Na – ta not N – ga – ta, Haloti Ngata is a top 3 DT in this league and his name is pronounced wrong. That’s just silly

WTH is up with Flacco’s hair??? It looks ******** and we all know he has a uni brow lol. Its looks like spraypaint on his head

No sacks!!!

He's playing on a dev kit so it might be some cool developer tool.

I saw a lot of things that I really like. I feel like the overall presentation is really solid. Things like the refs conferring for the spot are great touches that seem like they should have always been in the game. Honestly, the only thing holding back the presentation from really being amazing is the subpar announcing. There's just no real emotion or excitement. This is the one area where I feel like NCAA actually seems to have Madden beat. On NCAA, you can hear Nessler get excited during big plays, and it really adds to the atmosphere. Would be cool to have a play by play guy for Madden that could pull off that same kind of delivery. Maybe Mike Tirico, who does Monday Night Football?

It did seem like the running game was maybe a little bit over-effective, particularly in terms of being able to get outside and also with regard to broken tackles, and maybe offense in general seemed a bit overpowered. Overall though, it looked like a really fun game to play, and I'm excited to see the final product.

He is right that guys bite and get sucked in in the NFL, but I don't think he is right about this issue when the same behavior happens on Isolation plays and other run plays by the SAME player, regardless of the team or his ratings. It's only the OLB or the SS lined up at OLB that does this. The OLB has to step his a$$ up the field first before going inside. You guys are really going to be screaming when 2k4 run totals start tallying up on your a$$.

It is a fun game to play, but it could be alot more fun with defense being looked at.

Check out the last video 33 sec mark. Jevon Kearse puts pressure on the qb after doing a spin move. I want to see more of that from the D line.
No wear and tear on field this year?

Hey Ian great vid but i didn't quite like the QB sneak. Could you use pro-tak to incorporate an animation where the QB leans on the backs of his linemen and a pile is formed??? That dive animation that is in now is really bad but i'm glad to see you got rid of the other one

A bug by the Madden Team's definition, as told to me by Ian himself- "Anything that needs to be fixed."

Sometimes I wonder if im being ignored.

Did no one else see the warp tackle on the Ed Reed pick and all the players jumping for a block on the line on the punt plays, or the turn on a dime by the DB on the first Johnson TD?

I saw a few, but not enough for these 2 compared to what they do in real life. That being said, I'm hopeful that with the QB Accuracy slider being separate from the throwing power slider (at least I seem to remember hearing this would be the case) that we can get enough bad throws with the sliders. I didn't like the low frequency of bad throws, the pass rush being too weak still, or the QB sneak failing too many times (then again that is better than it being money.)

I really enjoyed seeing the DB's attack the receivers and their hands to knock some balls away, the presentation, and the variety of realistic reactions on inside runs. I am concerned about outside runs, but I know that Chris Johnson is one of the fastest guys in the game. I'd like to see some of the same plays run by White. Speaking of which, I didn't like that Chris Johnson was completely red in fatigue midway through the 3rd quarter yet he still broke a 15 yard run to the outside. However, I loved that it took about 7 plays of White at HB before Johnson was able to return to the game.

Thanks for the vids man.

Game looks pretty good. Just hope that they add more replays, and a broadcast cam (at least for cpu games) makes the final cut.

Finally.... it looks like Madden is headed in the right direction.
