Since I'm not quite grasping the intricacies of the franchise crashes and the extra game between the Dodgers and Pads, can someone who does let me know... I have a Mets franchise using the second SCEA roster after opening day, currently on April 24th (against the Nats). Is there any reason to anticipate my franchise becoming fubar, or am I in the clear to keep going? I downloaded the most recent patch, obviously.

Honestly I couldnt tell you. If it hasnt crashed yet then thats a good sign but thats not to say that when you play one of the teams who had their schedule fixed, or games added, that it wont crash then. When it crashes its obvious as it will kick you clear back to the XMB.

Best I would say is keep playing and if it crashes then delete the patch, play the series your in and reinstall the patch after that and see if that works. In the end its completely up to you.

Understatement of the year!

I wanted to complain about losing my RTTS 3 seasons in until I realized how much more time you've put into your rosters.

I wish there was somebody that could fix the historical stat glitch. Heaven knows I tried. Someone that works so hard and is such a good person doesn't deserve your headaches. Here's hoping.

Well, it finally happened. I didn't get my replays and when I went into the Vault, and chose some plays, it showed the batter and no one else, lol. The ball was hit and then jiggled around the infield, lol. Weird, to say the least.

Here is what I did different tonight from what I normally do. When they did a flashback for a player that hit a HR, I skipped it, which I normally don't do at all.

Also, at the end of the game instead of watching and listening to everything and NEVER pressing X, I was impatient because it is very very late and I wanted to go to bed, so I started pressing X thinking once I got to the part where they usually show highlights it would show them.
But, no, it just ended after it looked like it was going to show the highlights. Then in the vault the replays were messed up like I described above. I will definitely not be pressing X from now on at the end of the game. Maybe it was coincidence, but that was the only thing I did different this time.

Guess I will be getting the mini-me patch next week afterall.

You guys not getting replays do you make sure you never press X at the end of the game and let it all play out?

Is it a huge letdown to hear that they are in essence doing nothing to resolve this problem? Yes it is.
Yeah, that's a fine way to thank the people who bought the game early on and helped it put up huge sales numbers. I definitely see where you are coming from. Obviously the issue wasn't intentional, but the fact that they are basically telling you to start over is definitely a slap in the face.

It's late, and I have had a long day, and quite frankly, my momma always said if you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all, so...............................................
Well, a fix to the replays is better than nothing... I'm glad there is at least some resolution.

Wow, I just got done with my online game between the sox and cubs at the cell, and it went 20 freaking innings. Top 20th, I pinch hit big-z, he goes yard. Cubs win 2-1. I'm pumped, because I'm going to save the replay or whatever, but guess what? It doesn't work. fail.

For some reason, the highlights get skipped after the game, and I can't check out my plays in the replay vault. Very depressing. Also, sportsconnect has been blocking me out of online sometimes, claiming there is another user logged in. WTF? Also, after a game, the results sometimes show either me or my opponent was the orioles, when neither of us were them. idk.

I downloaded an earlier version of Knights roster and started a franchise. Now about about 18 games into this franchise ( i follow the real season) i turned on the game an the patch updated the game. Now its been 4 games since and i havent seen ONE thing different. My replay vault works, post game highlights work. The Cpu still sets the lineup the way it wants ( i play with roster control on), but thats the way it was before. My question is, why is only some peoples game having problems???????? If i had to grade this patch i would say WHAT PATCH? nothings seems to be different in regards to replays and highlights and lineups etc....

I was on April 27th of my Mets franchise when I downloaded the patch and I've played three games (and simmed six) and haven't had a problem. No crash to the XMB, no lineup glitch, no historical stats glitch, no replay glitch (yet). I have no idea if it'll stay that way, but I'm moving forward with my franchise.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply Russell - I am really shocked that you guys aren't fixing this though. Oh well, no point worrying about it too much.

I understand why SCEA is on these boards, but I fail to see why they couldn't have just said this when they released the information that a new patch will be released. Everything about this patch seems really cryptic, which is probably the most frustrating thing for me personally.

I can't wait to have those replays on the franchises and RTTS that I can no longer play!

Thanks guys.
Are we not supposed to post things that go against Sony or this game? I sure get that feeling sometimes. I love that the developers come here and give us info, but this is a message board and it really feels like, at times, that people can't have a real opinion. This is not really all towards you, but many folks on this board who are quick to jump on anyone that says something negative about this game.

WHATEVER.
The thing is that is really a big reason why we have this mess. The schedule should have been correct to start with, but it wasn't a big enough deal to warrant a patch that fixed nothing else.

I think the Cubs fans are the perfect people to blame.

I dont know if I just noticed it now but I am starting to see Subway ads in the stadiums now post patch that I did not see before? Just curious if anyone else has seen this.

This was something I feared might happen because they did SO much to try and get the management portion improved and the logic tweaked.

Yet with all these changes (subtle to us...probabaly not so subtle to those programming it) people kept demanding more; create-a-team, expansion mode, "real-time" atmosphere, create-a-stadium, etc, etc. The requests ranged from wishlist type hopes, to hostage demands...lol. It's an endless cycle.

I think some of that desire to appease a demanding fan base DOES lead to issues. Take The Chef's gripe. He (and others) lose out on their franchises because a very vocal group had strokes over the Cubs schedule (the rest of the teams with schedule issues, just as "broken", barely registered as blips). Now we have a schedule that is more accurate, but franchises that are toast.

Like I said...balance. To some degree, we have to hold ourselves responsible. I'm not saying how much, or even that SCEA doesn't still hold the overarching culpability (they do, IMO), just that I see where Jim is coming from. I don't think he's letting them completely off the hook. Just pointing out that "more" isn't always better.

In the end, it may be their game, but it's ours too. They've given us an aweful lot of input into what's prioritized. At the very least, this should be a wake up call that they are not machines, not perfect, and we should all probably keep stability in mind when making our requests.
Completely agree with everything you said and I know Jim isn't letting them off of the hook, I guess the way he worded it threw me for a loop. Sony HAS to continue to improve this game in order to keep the majority of their fan base happy, for guys like myself, as long as the core gameplay is unchanged and nothing is broken (that wasn't already before) I'm pretty content with what I have... the best baseball sim ever.

Ok fine, maybe I want fireworks, BUT THATS IT.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this. But, I have seen them pre-patch also. The ads are on the right field baggy in the Metrodome for random games, not all.

Now I can't get that stupid $5 footlong song out of my head, LOL!

Same with me...everything still works perfectly for me. I'm wondering what the deal is why it is affecting some folks and not others.

I think all that is being asked is that feedback, whether negative or positive, is passed on in a constructive manner minus the tantrum like posts that have been seen of late. Nothing more.

Sony I am sure are all for constructive criticism. There is a right and wrong way to go about it though. Examples of both are in this thread.

I thought all one had to do was sim to the next date on an existing franchise and it would not crash.

If you sim to next date, the simulation goes back and picks up the added game and carries on normally from there.

I think the funny thing is that the game was awesome at first - then the patch ironically did the opposite...created way more problems than it fixed. If things were reversed and how the game is now (post-patch) was actually box version and a patch came out that made it the original (pre-patch) version than all of us would be happy campers. Am I seriously the only one who finds the irony in this situation?
