Are you able to change the batting cam to more of a broadcast view (from behind the pitcher)?

Probably a silly question, but it's been a couple of years since I played MLB2K series.

Thanks.

Go to the Camera Settings
Choose the Pitcher View
Change the setting to get what you like.

I just found a new set that mimics the NESN broadcast, and from the top to bottom I think it is:

Zoom-3
Position-2
Height-6

any way, the numbers from top to bottom are 3,2,6

That is very close to what NESN uses, and you can really see the break of the curveballs, and the view looks just like it does on TV

Lol, you're showing your age MizzouRah. I was in my teens when I had a C64, and I think all of my software was, well, you know. I didn't even know Babbages was around then.

While I love the game, I am FLABBERGASTED at how bad the umpiring is! I had a shot at a 4-6-3 DP. My second baseman flipped to SS who was still 4 feet away from the bag. By the time I realized that he wasn't going to move on his own, the runner had already slid into the bag when I finally moved the SS to step on the bag to attempt the force.

Umpire calls the runner OUT! Even though he had been on the bag for a good 3 seconds. Absolutely AWFUL. I saved the replay. UGH!!!!!!!!!

lmao.... Software etc and babbages.

Although copy games and returning them was not so easy back then

I really enjoy this game.

The only concession Ive had to made to the AI, is that I simply cannot use the 12-6 Curveball as anything other then a waste/setup pitch thrown well outside the strike zone at all times.

The AI batters simply cannot handle this pitch, thrown for strikes.

Ive given up rocket shots on regular curveball's, but the 12-6 curve is this year's Ephus Pitch.

Remember that atrocity?

picked up the game to days ago, gave it a chance, I'm sorry this game is pretty bad, I just can't get past so many things. Put it on ebay already for a cheap price. Even with the patch downland this game just can't be played for me. My psS3 threw up after playing 2K9, the game needs a lot of help IMO.

He was pitching 2 games because I went to an exhibition game to try it out to see if the same thing was happening and I figured I'd try to get the HR achivement by bumping up his stats.

On a related note the number hit batters is out of control post patch.

You aren't doing the gestures accurately then. Turn the Gesture Recognition slider down and your pitches will be just as accurate as they were pre-patch.

It still seems a lot tougher than in last year's game to get pitches to go where you want them to. Been playing with the pitching meter speeds to compensate.

Fielding is still very sluggish, and when you try to change the direction of an outfielder (seems like the computer controls you at first), a lot of fly balls can drop in.

The problem doesn't appear to be the speed of the fielders, but the responsiveness to changing the direction.

CPU hitting aggressiveness seems to have been toned down nicely.

It's amazing how one session can turn me around on this game. I was loving it online, and won every game. Now i run into a string of games where the lag is horrible and the game grinds to a halt. You can't check swing, you can't take pitches. It is just horrible. First time since I've gotten it that I had to stop playing mid-game, I just couldn't get any enjoyment was so ever out of it.

Also, I've noticed:

-fielders can run down anything...anything
-when you steal, even when you're safe, you're called out
-the inability to hit curveballs extends to players as well. It's possible if hung, but if it's low, the player never sweeps it off its arc, just mistimes it.
-most players can't make contact when bunting
-the strike zone extends below the knee

Am I the only one having freezing issues still? others have told me that in game save is broken. that could be a game killer for me. Does 2k8 have in game saves?

My 360 RROD after a couple weeks of 2k9...so i took a break, got it back after the patch and gave the game another fair shot...

I'm sorry but this game is terrible...the best decision i made was trading it back in--though next year i won't even bother with it at all.

Fielding, pitching, and batting are all so bad its laughable--but hey if some people are enjoying it, then to each their own I suppose.

I've saved lots of games in the middle of a game and have been able to load it at a later time just fine (knock on wood).

I have had it freeze twice upon loading my franchise and had to start a new one (now I use multiple saves to be safe), but have not had any issues for quite a while now (again, knock on wood).
