What slider set are you using SKYBOX?

Hopefully they can make it even better in roster updates.
I feel like now that the IE appears to be working right this can be dealt with using rating changes. I could be wrong.

I personally would LOVE to see them revive that Franchise with a lot of the same people that worked on the last one (if possible) (2004). That was a great baseball game (except for the horrible graphics). Microsoft could combat PS3 sales because of the Show (although it's probably not a ton of sales overall) by making their own great baseball game since 2K hasn't been stepping up to the plate since 360/P3.
Having said all that, I do think this game has a lot of promise for the future. This is the first one that VC has worked on, and the first ones are usually a disaster. They really could refine this game, and make it really good for next year.
Even though I have a PS3 and MLB 09 The Show, I hope they make this series good, because it's kind of like Coke and Pepsi. Even though you really may like Coke (MLB 09 The Show), sometimes you're not in the mood for it, and want Pepsi (MLB 2K9) for a change (or Pepsi may be The Show for some of you and MLB 2K9 is Coke, whatever).

So I take it that it still isn't worth buying post-patch? (Trying to catch up here, haven't been on the MLB 2K9 forum in a while)

Next game was completely different. Rangers vs. Indians in Arlington. Sure tell a difference in how the parks played. At Arlington the ball jumped out of the park. Indians win 11-7.

Here's my first highlight.

Well I'm a HUGE The Show fan but 2K9 IS a fun game to play. Having some really good times with is since the patch.

Same here. For my money the Show is the best sports game I have ever played. That being said, I am having a ton of fun playing 2k9.

I was in Target today on my way home, and was really close to picking this up (especially since I had a $20 gift card). The only thing that held me back was the price and concern that I might not play it at all since I have The Show 09. I used to play both in the past. I wonder if there will be a price drop, like NBA 2K9. It's only $39.99 now at Target. I should have picked that up at least. Now I'm regretting not buying one of them, lol. Went to blockbusters and they had 5 copies, and they were all rented. Now I know why I don't go there anymore. Never can find what I want.

Anyway, I think I will have to pick this up and check it out myself. If I don't like it, I can just sell it or trade it in I guess. Thanks for the impressions.

I actually didn't know that. I can remember back when they were Babbages and you could return all games even new ones that were opened. That saved me a lot of money, lol. Software, etc. let you do that in the past too.

After using BigFnJoe's sliders (with some tweaks to compensate for my lack of skills), the game is solid, if not great. The CPU pitcher will throw balls and won't swing at every pitch. I still think the outfield arms are too strong and the outfielders misplay balls more than they should, but overall I'm pleased with the game. Now if I could just find more time to play it...

I'm playing default all star with just one tweak on the CPU strike efficiency slider. I had a great game last night as the Yankees vs Orioles. Threw a complete game with CC and gave up 1 run on 12 hits which is a tad high but got 10k's with 5 of them looking. On the offensive side I drew two walks and hit 3 homers which is the first time I've hit more than 1 in a game. Two were with Tex from each side of the plate, left handed was crushed to right and the right handed HR was hit to right center. The other hr was from Nady.

I thought the CPU was still hitting a few too many first pitches but it may be that I was off with the gestures because I started dominating in the 2nd half of the game. While I had 10 K with CC I didn't get the first strikeout till the 4th inning.

I just rented the game last night and played two full 9 inning games, and it ran seemless. Evidently the patches fixed a lot of bugs. The only bug that I noticed was on an appeal for a check swing, the 3rd base ump was facing the outfield. I can deal with that. I'm a baseball purist so I'm very picky, but I really enjoyed the game last night. I lost to Beckett and the Sox 6-3 and he was throwing smoke. My major problem with the game is that the player models look like cartoons. They are too brightly colored. The Show images I've seen look like they get the shadowing and texture perfectly.

I was the Indians vs. the jays last night. Anthony Reyes threw a complete game shutout with 9 k's Just awesome.
