Madden 2010 News Post

Peter Moore has posted the first screenshot of Madden NFL 10.

"While we have a number of announcements and updates to come over the next several weeks leading up to next month's NFL Draft, I'm excited to debut the first screenshot from this year's game right here this week. The old adage says, "A picture is worth a thousand words", and that is certainly true in this fantastic shot. How many improvements can you pick out? The Madden dev team will call each one out in their blog later this week."

What an exciting day for all of us!
I see you have the team sidelines painted for the steelers (:

That looks fantastic. I hope the gameplay has been raised as well.

stop torchering me. I can't wait until August. The screen shot looks great. I love the ref on field. I give credit to Ian and crew over at ea sports for stepping up this year and I haven't even touched the game yet, but I seriously can't wait.

Gloves look to be all the exact same ones that were in 09, I kind of think I see black wristband tape which in 09 the only way you could have anything black on your wrists was a wristband, not black tape. That's all I can really see though the gloves look EXACTLY the same, which kind of sucks though because there are a lot of new styles being used in the nfl that aren't in the game, all the gloves in the game are dated and most haven't been used in 2 or 3 years cause the nfl puts out a new line of gloves every season.

Here's some we don't have.

Ian, please tell me you guys ain't putting Ben on the cover. We don't need "the curse" in Pittsburgh.

Been wanting to see this for a while because a lot of teams use the secondary color such as orange for the bears, orange for the dolphins, neon green for the seahawks.

it could be one of those big box fans for cooling.

That's a helluva nice screenshot. Not only does the action on the field look sharp (cleats, OL/DL interaction, etc.), but that sideline over there is bangin'.

Ian, you and the gang keep up the great work!

Is it just me? The ball looks to big to me. Like the football should be smaller in size just a little

1. There is no evidence of interactive sidelines. However, I do see live coaches, and that's a huge plus.
This is actually in 09. I wasn't a fan of it because they look terrible, and they look like the same ones from last year. I still believe in the philosophy of less is more in many cases, and I'd rather have one really detailed recognizeable head coach than 3 terrible-looking ones that I can't even recognize.

Last year with 09 we had no Head Coaching presence, and I'd hate to see them make yet the same mistake two seasons in a row. I just have a bad feeling that there is going to be a repeat of that one.

Is it me, or does Sweed (#14) look really, really wide open? For that matter, I know they are only showing maybe 1/3 or 1/4 of the field (with an emphasis on the much-improved sidelines) but I don't see any other receivers. Perhaps this is a Hail Mary with a Prevent defense? I suppose that'd highlight the sidelines and O-line interaction without cluttering the view with too many players.

I wonder if the refs will run down the field with the players in the game. Just having them standing there won't quite cut it.

# 179 Tengo Juego @ 03/23/09 04:10 PM
Wait. So how many things is that in total?

Dang... yeah, the ball's been huge for years... was hoping they'd get that this year. I know it was talked about before '09 came out.
