Thanks for replying to the "demo crowd" issues. Atmosphere is a huge selling point for me and I'm glad the final version will be beefed up in that category.

i noticed that at my last at bat the crowd cheered for like 3 seconds then quiet down and then loud again on my next pitch ..it should be loud the whole at bat not for a short time...
Also in the demo it showed that there were 23,000 people in the stadium,,impossible after being the world champs

actually, i don't mind the Pepsi adds, cuz their red/white/blue. What bothers me, is when billboards appear in stadiums which aren't color-coordinated. In the new Yankee Stadium it looks like SCEA placed a yellow/gold color billboard in left-field. It is an eye-sore. Even if it looked that way in real-life, no need to replicate it in the game.
ditto for any of the other off the wall color billboards, in stadiums.

Playing a quick game tonight (two-player), I slammed one straight at the mound with Howard. It hit the base of the hill and shot up perfectly between Kazmir's legs as he was finishing his follow-through.
I'm an idiot and completely forgot to take a screen and, of course, I'll likely never see it again. I did zoom in on the replay just to ensure that no clipping problems were the cause but it was a clean pass.
So, anyhow, reacting quickly, my wife stopped and jumped, snagging the ball with Iwamura. With Howard being slow as he is, she was able to land and throw me out easily.
Man, I wish we could save replays in the demo as (cool as the feature is), a single screen would never have done the sequence justice.
P.S. I won 2-1 in the fifth on a walk-off solo shot by Victorino, my third or fourth game-winning blast with him!

Seriously, she's pretty good -- I mean she always her own franchises in sports games and I have mine.
edit: And to clarify, she plays on Veteran. She can hit and pitch All-Star but not field. I think she's better at '09, not only against me but also the computer so we'll see!
Last year, she took on a rebuilding Royals squad and had them play .500 baseball. She doesn't know all the players but, yeah, I'd say I can only win around 70 per cent of the time.
She's also very capable at Winning Eleven but man, she's boring to play against in that one!
The funny thing, though, is she's awful at hockey and it's our favourite sport!

I woulden't understand anyone not having the HDMI cable setup with the PS3, however MLB the SHOW09 looks magnificent. DEF a MUST BUY.

I've played many games of the demo so far and yesterday saw a few things that bothered me.
I was playing as the Phillies and hit a weak ground ball to first. That was a good thing. The Ray's 1st baseman missed the ball, animation wasn't pretty, but it was clearly an error. What happened next disturbed me, the 2nd baseman ran over to where the ball was, however did not pick the ball up. The 1st baseman ran back to the edge of the outfield to pick the ball up and throw to 2nd base, my runner was standing on 1st at the time.
The other issue was with a foul ball that was hit on the 1st base side near home plate and a pop-up on the 1st base side of the pitchers mound. My 3rd baseman ran over and caught both of these balls, my catcher and 1st baseman stood and watched.
My last experience was strange, but not sure if it as meant to be a base running blunder. Playing on Legend the CPU had 1st and third one out, a fairly deep flyball was hit to centerfield, I thought it was deep enough to score the run and I would have attempted it, however the runner on 3rd went back to the base to tag up, but never came home. Here is where the strange thing occured. His 3rd base coach came over to the runner on 3rd and started to yell at the runner, extending the arms as he spoke, this is were I am not sure if it was a random base running error.

I have to say I am pretty disappointed in the fact they didn't make collision detection a bigger priority espcially at second base. This seems like way too big of a part of the game to ignore.
I just slid straight through a player on back to back at bats trying to break up the double play. Very annoying.
Like I said I don't see how this wasn't made a top priority. Lots of exciting things can happen on broken up double plays.
I know this may sound harsh but to me for a baseball game on these advanced consoles in 2009 to not have collision detection is not acceptable at all. Alot older baseball games on far less powerful systems had this. PLEASE FIX THIS FOR NEXT YEAR.

Lets not forget were playing a build from early Dec
It's very possible that most if not all of these issues have been addressed and fixed

OK I'm confused...... are you more disturbed that the 2nd basemen didn't pick up the ball or that your runner didn't advance to 2nd base with nobody apparently staying to cover 1st or 2nd ????

man, I am playing on veteran with pitch speed all the way down, HUMAN contact and TIMING all the way up, and I am still getting like 2-3 hits per game only. Do these sliders work? I really dont notice a difference. Or is it just me still sucking cuz Im new to ps3 and the show?? LOL

Finally had a break through game on Legend and put up 5 runs through 4 innings.
But gave up 6 and lost the game.

Sorry for the confusion, I was disturbed by the 2nd baseman not picking up the ball. The shortstop was covering 2nd. But the 2nd baseman clearly should have picked the ball up.
Not to complain (yea, to complain), but I thought the issue with balls going through fielders was resolved or am I wrong here?
Last night, I had a play with a runner on first. The ball was hit sharply to Utley's right. He goes into an animation to move to the ball, yet, because I'm also reacting to the ball, I basically move him out of that animation. As a result, he ends up running and the ball goes right through his torso allowing the runner on first to move safely to second.
What bothered me the most was that there were two outs and the very next hitter hit a 3-run homerun to take a 3-0 lead. Since it's a demo, I just let it slide. If that were during a season game, I would be visibly upset.
Any word on whether or not this has been fixed since this demo's build? It's a frustrating thing that I used to see a lot in the outfield that now seems corrected. Yet, I just saw it pop up last night for an infielder. First and only real issue I've seen since dling the demo. Well, that and making me stay up late playing 4 innings of baseball.
