I can never get over how real these games look on a lower quality video like the one just posted. Especially 2K9 now with the post-play animations, the highlight reels, etc. -- it's hard to find "videogame things" to point out.

Was playing my friend this morning and he was turboing around so I decided I was just going to own him on getting charges called... I take a charge with Rondo after Kobe damn near ran him over, Rondo stands up and acts like his shoulder is killed and they took him out.. He was acting like D Wade when Wade got hurt against the Rockets

Okay, this game is a must-have for me! I've never played any sports game that moves and looks so realisitc. I played about 10 games on the demo and I'm just blown away! Gotta have it.....

;=] some of the buzzer beating plays I had with Kobe were drop-dead gorgeous... I wish the demo had instant replay =P!
On a side note though, is there a trick to playing post defense? And how do you front a man in the post (I could always pull it off on the PS2 versions of the game but maybe I'm not used to the controls or something because I'm having difficulty doing it on the 360)?
Kendrick Perkins tore me a new one a couple of times...

Here's a repost I made from another forum:
I played for about an hour. It's still solid as ever but I did notice a couple of things that bothered me. Before inbounding the ball the player you're controlling walks through molasses. Once the computer decides to let you control him freely, it's normal, and while it's not affecting gameplay, it's really annoying fro some reason. Also, I don't like the "run into the defender" animation this year. it seems much longer and drawn out. For example, I'm arounf the top of the key, but closer to the sideline. I make a move towards the basket but the defender gets a step and fronts me. No big deal, but the animation of my player pushing into the defender sends me all the way to the baseline and now I'm vulnerable through no fault of my own.
Also, they dumbed down the post moves a bit. Last year if you had a player like KG and you were backing someone down, you could let go of the LT and he would spin in that direction and leave the defender behind. This isn't the case anymore, forwards can still do it, but it seems big men will do a little hopstep and stop in their tracks without you telling them to.

I just played the demo yesterday and the gameplay seemed a lot more polished. I noticed that you have to hold the modifiers to do most of the dribble moves and post ups are now automatic down low. Good gameplay overall, but on my standard def TV the graphics were a little messed up. The players had jagged edges around them and the court logos were blurry. Also the display didn't fit on my screen. Since 2K seems to have made the players/jerseys less shiny, from a distance the game looks almost worse than 2K8 (on my TV). Up close it was okay and the player faces were excellent. I hope there is something I can change with the game to make it look better in standard.

Lol,I played a game where D.Fisher was absolutley unstoppable...draining 3 after 3 at the end he was like 5/6.I was in awe on he kept getting them in, but it was my fault,i left him open twice on the start,he just heated up...
I won my first game (quarter) vs the CPU 15 - 11 .. heres some impressions
KG scored 8 or more of my points.. 4 hook shots all money. not sure if thats good or bad.
shooting has been slowed down alot, lots of blocked jumpers. actually overall the game seems to have slowed down..
I dont know what to make of it yet, my favorite part was the presentation while it was loading .. REAL game shots and highlights .. sweet touch, I cant wait to see the kevin martins little highlight package ..

i still cant really catch and shoot off screens. big gripe of mine right about now. i just now on the harder difficulities my shots wont be going on as they are now.
Btw the CPU lakers had a fastbreak on me. kobe ahead. i was rondo and planted myself in the paint wanting to get posterized. instead kobe throws an alley to odom and I get plowed over by the incoming odom. offensive foul. lovely lovely contextual animations

Hit the shot stick in the direction that you're running instead of pulling it back as normal. I don't believe you can shoot the on-command leaners/floaters with the button. Yet another reason to use the shot stick.

This has to be THE best demo 2K has ever put out... so much so that I can actually see myself finishing up multiple seasons in Association mode. the AI, pacing and shot selection is all there and the D actually has a team system.
PS: Fisher will kill you with the 3 if you leave him... the man does not hesitate to shoot it.

so thats just the leaner animation right? I mean it looks better. but I really just want ray allen to come off a screen, catch and quickly shoot with no real leaning. if thats more effective, ill use it, but itll still be quite a gripe for me

I agree Ruben... the quick catch and shoot needs to be quicker because it screws up your release when it has that little hitch. Same complaint I have with shooting out of the jab step.
