yea field degradation is marginally fixed... sucks...

I wish they had toned down those post processing effects that are hiding it as it mutes the vibrancy of the picture too

You must only be seeing what you want to see. I played a regular season game at Jacksonville (with Buffalo, week 2). Sunny skies, no rain at all and STILL, I noticed the field getting all worn out towards the end of the 3rd and start of the 4th quarter.

I only played in the rain but the post processing effects are more prevalent in those so maybe non rain games have field degradation more evident?

I can tell a huge difference in the degradation in rain games dont know why you cant...

All this talk about a field turning brown and everyone overlooks the playclock sitting at :40 for 5 seconds after the play is over. Can't fix simple gameplay issues because everyone is whining about the freakin field turning brown? I hope everyone is happy with this.

Post patch, is the game now better than NCAA?

Random thing I noticed that was fixed is on the PS3 Collector's Edition. Under the CE extras, they've fixed Brett Favre's name. It used to be "Farve", which I thought was hilarious.

As for actual impressions from the one game I've played, I like the time before a snap and I did see some field degradation, but it still seemed hidden by the tint effects. Maybe it's easier to notice in heavy rain games. I was just playing rainy. I did see it clearer in the On-Demand window because there are no/less screen effects layered on that.

You can't be serious...

Anyways, the game plays awesome now and I can finally start my bears franchise!

Make sure you're xbox or ps3 is online when you boot the game up and it will automatically ask you if you want to download it. It takes less than a minute

Guys,

This is my very first post here and I have played Madden since the original version on PC many years ago.

After the patch, and playing on "My Skill" settings, which I might add are pretty high for my level, I have to say that the game seems to be where it needs to be for a fun and "simulating" experience.

I'm noticing that guys on defense must be in position and looking at the ball to intercept or make "super plays" and I'm seeing mistakes on the CPU side of the ball.

I know that my opinion may not be very popular with all the bashing about what still isn't perfect, but I must say it is the game I expected it to be now...finally.

Just my thoughts...I'm not sure if anyone out there agrees at all but it is just my 2 cents worth as a first-time "post-er" here.

The game plays exactly the same. Kickoff coverage is awful and the play clock didn't get fixed. Oh well. We got fields degrading and shoulder pads fixed though!

Two things...

First, is it me or does the CPU run more now? The CPU has NEVER run for 100 yards against me, but in my second game of my new franchise (going with the Chiefs) the Raiders ran for 120 yards between Russell and their HB. Did Russell Always run? I have only been the Giants and Browns for a few franchise games and never noticed a running QB.

Second, my defenders seem more aware of the passes in the air and have batted down MANY more balls. I can't be calling a better game all of the sudden. I think my defenders are useful now.

Robo QB was gone, BUT I played the Pats (GUTIERREZ BECAUSE CASSEL ALSO GOT HURT!) and Jamarcus(who is new to this whole deal).

Guys i just got off work and don't have time to read all 20 something pages(my lil girl wants to go outside ha). I just want to know real quick did they do anything to make the CPU stop throwing at a high %? ROBO QB as yall call it

Edit the guy above said it was gone

Gone, yes, but that may be just because of the two QBs I played. Their completion percentage was 58 and 62 which is fine....but they also are horrible.

I usually watch Rothlesburger run up and down the field and pass at will (especially when under pressure).

So far...

I still see people getting disconnected on kicking situations.

It does play pretty much the same, I mean they weren't going to overwrite the gameplay engine or anything. But the fact that the cpu doesn't quick snap thus allowing me to set my defense up has improved the robo QB thing 10 fold and I didn't think it was that bad to begin with. I just played the 'Phins and Pennington at the half(5 minute quarters) was 1 for 13. Also the fact that penalties now force the offense into long situations opens up the deep passing game. And the fact that the cpu doesn't run out of bounds like a 10 pound waterhead, is a great addition.

So no the game hasn't been overhauled or anything along those lines, but the game doesn't play "exactly" the same. Its better. By how much, well thats for each individual to decide.

just finished my first game post patch. I must say, the patch has made what was to me an already great game even better. Being able to make adjustments on defense and the fact that the cpu no longer quick snaps the ball are very much welcomed additions to the game.

I beat the Phins 13-6 in a game that turned ugly in the 2nd half. In 10 minutes of 2nd half football we combined for 6 turnovers and 13 penalties. Pennington was held to 1 for 13 passing in the first half, but in the 2nd half he got a bit better finishing the game 11 for 29 for 109yds 3INT.

I saw the cpu throw the ball deep a bit more. I was able to make adjustments to my defense to counter what the offense was doing and able to have players in the correct areas in regards to defending the pass. Man it was sweet.

Penalties are something that I'll have to tinker with to see where I want them, but holding and false start at 100 is too much.

The game was already great beforehand in my opinion, but it just got better.

I don't know about realistic buddy. Holding at 100 I was called for holding on a kick return, holding on the first run play and holding on the second run play. That's 3 holding in a row. I don't think that's realistic, We're going to have to look into the penalties and hopefully fix them. I'm going to play a few games and go franchise a go before I comment on anything. As for the holding, almost called on every play.

Played Chargers(me) vs. Jets(cpu) on All-Pro/Hardcore with all penalties jacked. Everything was cool, except Favre went 20-22 w/ no ints.
I lost 21-17 on a cheap play before halftime,so I was giving up mostly short stuff.
I saw far more penalties, cpu run game seemed credible, robo qb in full bloom.
