I still see people getting disconnected on kicking situations.

It does play pretty much the same, I mean they weren't going to overwrite the gameplay engine or anything. But the fact that the cpu doesn't quick snap thus allowing me to set my defense up has improved the robo QB thing 10 fold and I didn't think it was that bad to begin with. I just played the 'Phins and Pennington at the half(5 minute quarters) was 1 for 13. Also the fact that penalties now force the offense into long situations opens up the deep passing game. And the fact that the cpu doesn't run out of bounds like a 10 pound waterhead, is a great addition.

So no the game hasn't been overhauled or anything along those lines, but the game doesn't play "exactly" the same. Its better. By how much, well thats for each individual to decide.

Re: Madden 09 Patch #2 Released, Impressions Here

just finished my first game post patch. I must say, the patch has made what was to me an already great game even better. Being able to make adjustments on defense and the fact that the cpu no longer quick snaps the ball are very much welcomed additions to the game.

I beat the Phins 13-6 in a game that turned ugly in the 2nd half. In 10 minutes of 2nd half football we combined for 6 turnovers and 13 penalties. Pennington was held to 1 for 13 passing in the first half, but in the 2nd half he got a bit better finishing the game 11 for 29 for 109yds 3INT.

I saw the cpu throw the ball deep a bit more. I was able to make adjustments to my defense to counter what the offense was doing and able to have players in the correct areas in regards to defending the pass. Man it was sweet.

Penalties are something that I'll have to tinker with to see where I want them, but holding and false start at 100 is too much.

The game was already great beforehand in my opinion, but it just got better.

I don't know about realistic buddy. Holding at 100 I was called for holding on a kick return, holding on the first run play and holding on the second run play. That's 3 holding in a row. I don't think that's realistic, We're going to have to look into the penalties and hopefully fix them. I'm going to play a few games and go franchise a go before I comment on anything. As for the holding, almost called on every play.

I had to turn holding down to 55.....but with everything else at 100, I STILL am not getting but MAYBE 1 PI and a couple false starts per game....no others in 4 games!! I was REALLY hoping they were serious about the penalties being higher, but doesn't look like it.

Played Chargers(me) vs. Jets(cpu) on All-Pro/Hardcore with all penalties jacked. Everything was cool, except Favre went 20-22 w/ no ints.
I lost 21-17 on a cheap play before halftime,so I was giving up mostly short stuff.
I saw far more penalties, cpu run game seemed credible, robo qb in full bloom.

So Matt Ryan just complete 84% of his passes despite my team winning 42-7.

I still didn't "feel" the robo qb like I have been (and actually did sack him four times). Still, probably the placebo effect of a new patch...

I agree, I just played a game against Dallas, and I had holding on the kick return, first play etc. I'm going to lower holding from 100 and hopefully that solves the problem. I will say that it's definitely a plus to see the CPU cut up field for extra yards instead of running out of bounds, gives me a chance to lay some big hits once they cut up the sideline lol.
