Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA

I'm back now and wanted to relay some news - we found and fixed the Franchise freezing issue that some have been seeing and decided to delay the patch a couple of days in order to get that in. Major thanks to this community ...a few folks here on OperationSports actually emailed me PS3 Franchise files which allowed us to track the issue down much more quickly. You guys rock - as always!

The patch is now at our internal quality control group, and then on to Sony and Microsoft by (we think) Friday.

We are still targeting about 2-3 weeks from now for the patch to drop, and of course I will keep you updated as things progress.

I have a question about progression. I've read this thread daily and I can't seem to find any definitive answer on this...

I'm in the division round of the playoffs in year three. If I wait until I get the patch to go into the offseason, will this give me player progression in the offseason. OR... does it make no difference weather I go into the offseason or not, the progession won't take place until I "Start New Season", and in that case I would have to wait until the following offseason to see accuarte progression?

I don't think that specific scenario has been addressed, but from the way it was explained it should take place seemlessly. The only thing they specifically said would not work off the bat is edited players. You'll need to re-edit them before they'll start progressing. The problem (as I recall) wasn't that it flat out didn't work, but that it was tuned very low. So, in theory, everything should be fine for you.

What about progression for official EA roster updates. Will you have to start over to see progression with those, or should those progress fine anyway?

my best guess would be sometime during the overnight hours for the 360(5am EST?) and tomorrow evening for the PS3(8PM EST).

Thats how it seemed to work for the 2 NCAA patches. Although the first patch for Madden was on the PS3 first. So...

...wow...this is just amazing...readin' all this stuff...2 be honest I don't post much...as u can see...but I had 2 this time...

E-thing I wanted 2 say is...

...Give those EA Guys some credits 4 keepin' us up2date...they really try to do the best they can...I can tell...

...And...

...Some Credits 4 CB too...e-one can read I suppose...but he's just sharin' his knowledge of w/e...so a big ty CB...

...oh and plz could u stop sayin' "I'll never spend another 60$ on another madden game again"...coz' u know u will...

So you're thinking when we wake up in the morning the 360 patch might be out?

I'd be shocked if it came out Monday morning @ 5am est. Pleasantly shocked. I don't expect it until maybe even Monday night very late. I hope it's sooner.

I think he did, but MS put up the patches for NCAA overnight so I would imagine it would be the same in this case. I am wondering if he said that just to cover both bases, given that for whatever reason, Sony updates later in the evening.

could be right. I was just thinking since they aren't there over the weekend, they can't put it up (maybe that was Phill's thinking too?). Either way, not long now

I doubt the patch will fix the CPU running game, or lack of, which to me, is what's holding the game back. Maybe the DLC/CPU sliders will help.

good point. I wasn't thinking about that. I retract all my previous comments about the patch being up in the morning for the 360, due to new evidence.

However, us PS3 owner will still most likely have to wait until tomorrow evening. I am hoping its available when I get home tomorrow night from work.

I'm going to check tomorrow morning around 5:30am to see if they upload it for 360 and if they do, I will start a thread about it.

For you PS3 guys, I hope you all will get it sooner than later.

All in all, we will be getting a patch tomorrow

Well if they were waiting Friday because the guys were home for the weekend, I doubt we see it up at 530am because no one is usually at work that early.

one must remember though, my mother works in IT, and is a database manager. And they do mainframe backups on the weekends and mondays. While IT opens at 8 AM, every monday, one of the database people has to go in at 2 AM to do the backups, as they have to pull the network down to do it. And, well.....it only makes sense to do it when no one is there to be on the network (or if there is some odd person...who's nuts for being there, they don't care if they boot them)

so, it's not at all unlikely that they would have a network team that would be working the off and odd hours for maintanence, and or updates, and software pushes.

While I am doughtfull it will be up, not that I care as I have to be at work at 6am anywho, I would be happy if it were up by the time I got home tomorrow night.

Have you adjusted your Rush D sliders? I have and the CPU can run a good game. Pass D sliders gets rid of "robo QB" as well.
