Madden 09 News Post

I'm back now and wanted to relay some news - we found and fixed the Franchise freezing issue that some have been seeing and decided to delay the patch a couple of days in order to get that in. Major thanks to this community ...a few folks here on OperationSports actually emailed me PS3 Franchise files which allowed us to track the issue down much more quickly. You guys rock - as always!

The patch is now at our internal quality control group, and then on to Sony and Microsoft by (we think) Friday.

We are still targeting about 2-3 weeks from now for the patch to drop, and of course I will keep you updated as things progress.

Ian

Daily amazed by EA. They could definitely screw up a wet dream. I suppose if a patch for a soccer game was released, it would go to Antarctica first and get to Europe later.

You know, it's almost like these guys are sitting around saying "what would be the best possible way to handle this?" Ok, let's do just the opposite.

Ya what's up? It might be sony and ms? Isn't the 360 like the #1 selling console? And don't most people play madden on xbox360? Seems like the first one released should be in the US for the 360. But then again that's what I have so maybe I'm just growing impatient. U think? Any way I'm just happy my repaired or replaced 360 will be here today! I'm off for the next 2 days and would really like to play NCAA and Madden. Here's to trying to stay positive. Sure hope the patch works and is out SOMETIME today.

EA has no hand in the release of the patch, its all MS/Sony. And thus far as far as I can tell, its only Sony thats released the patch in Europe and Austrailia.

Could they have mistaken football for soccer?

Yes, I agree. EA has done their job with getting the patch out. Now MS & Sony are calling the shots of when it is released.

My goodness I can understand the frustration of you all, but it's only a few more hours until it's dispatched.

So for the handfull of people who have it. Are the freezes fixed? Do the players still run out of bounds? How about the cpu quick snapping are they taking at least 5 seconds? Any sim to check out progression?

Thanks
Brandon

cpu snaps take quite along time now... def big difference but it seems always to be like that even if they cpu is losing in the last quarter, it still takes it's time.
i simmed 4 seasons and the progression for rookies is a huge improvement..often up 5,6,7 points (sullivan (c- vikes) went up 14 points on mine after second season??)
regression isn't that obvious yet.. haven't seen any age regression but injured players always go down 2 points (usually taken from speed)...

anything else???
So now we get the computer taking time to snap the ball,( is it realstic?) but now down the stretch they take their sweet time too? So we could have even more poor AI clock management late in the game?

I wonder how the cpu two minute offense is as far as snapping the ball. If they are running the no huddle I hope they don't let the play clock trickle down to 20 or lower. How much time are you seeing and do you get various results? Some quick, some longer etc...? Thanks!

how about field degradation?
Can you play a game in heavy rain, and see what the field looks like in the 4th quarter?

thanks

Have you noticed any improvments with the running game or pass coverage?

14 points? Ouch I hope thats not the norm. Especially with the way some players are coming in from NCAA football. My fear is that they were going to overdo progression because people were calling for it. I would rather have little or no progression compared to players all being the in 90s after a couple years.

passing seemed easier for me and running was the same (but im good at running) so u'll have to judge for urself.

roboqb still exists
cpu cant run
Thanks for the info
