Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA

I'm back now and wanted to relay some news - we found and fixed the Franchise freezing issue that some have been seeing and decided to delay the patch a couple of days in order to get that in. Major thanks to this community ...a few folks here on OperationSports actually emailed me PS3 Franchise files which allowed us to track the issue down much more quickly. You guys rock - as always!

The patch is now at our internal quality control group, and then on to Sony and Microsoft by (we think) Friday.

We are still targeting about 2-3 weeks from now for the patch to drop, and of course I will keep you updated as things progress.

Guy's lets keep it on topic. It's really not that hard, if it's not about the patch, news about patch, or another site's info about the patch, then take it to another forum. I appreciate you guy's helping out with people's dyansty before/after the patch...and thats fine, just stop flaming each other and who's system is better, or more reliable....it's not 4th grade

I'm confused. He's saying "we'll release it" but I thought that just means EA sends it to MS for certification, which takes a few weeks, right?

It was sent 2 weeks ago.

Well NCAA fans had to wait for two patches before that game was playable too, but purchasing after patches will be the smarter move from this point forward.

Im glad to get an update though, hopefully its true.

I agree, the wording is very confusing. It is worded to sound like MS and Sony sent it back to EA for one final test before releasing it. I have no idea who is actually releasing it and I don't particularly care as long as it gets out soon.

It's not confusing at all to me. It's EA who actually uploads the patch, I think - after they get the all clear from MS/SONY. At least that's how it was for the roster update, wasn't it (remember CDowns?).

Thanks for the udpate (by proxy) Phil!

Edit: My mistake - CDowns was the NCAA Patch guy. Which makes the point even more valid.

To try and clear up confusion;

Sony/MS both have the patch and have been testing now for awhile. They, MS/Sony, are in the final testing stages of the patch and if all goes well, they expect it to be released tonight. If there is a problem with the patch(bug, glitch, whatever) it will be sent back to EA for them to fix and re-submit and then we go through this whole process again.

Please keep in mind that there is no guarantee that its going to release tonight even if all goes well. Its up to Sony/MS as to when the patch goes live. So cross your fingers and your toes that all goes well with the testing and that MS/Sony decide to make it live tonight/tomorrow.

That's good to hear. I might be able to play again tonight. This patch will fix the freezing problem right? Man, i can't wait! At lease i have 4 season of NCAA football draft saved.
Oh yeah, does anyone know if this will fix the crazy ratings of the draft players from NCAA? Thanks in advance!

Quick question. What time zone are these guys(those responsible for sending the patch out) in? I ask because its 8:25 pm as I type this so I'm on the Eastern time zone.
