Madden 09 Quick Patch #2 Update From EA

I'm back now and wanted to relay some news - we found and fixed the Franchise freezing issue that some have been seeing and decided to delay the patch a couple of days in order to get that in. Major thanks to this community ...a few folks here on OperationSports actually emailed me PS3 Franchise files which allowed us to track the issue down much more quickly. You guys rock - as always!

The patch is now at our internal quality control group, and then on to Sony and Microsoft by (we think) Friday.

We are still targeting about 2-3 weeks from now for the patch to drop, and of course I will keep you updated as things progress.

lol...I just read on the HC forums that Josh said the HC patch might not be out in the a.m. either. There might be some upset footballers this weekend (though, I guess the PS3 HC players don't really care

). Oh well, that's just how it goes sometimes.

On the Xbox 360 when you start up Maddenn 09 it will disconnect you from Xbox live, assuming you have it, and say an update is available and if you wanna download it. Just highlight the yes option and press the A button and wait for the download. Once the download is finished you will be logged back to Xbox live and Madden 09 will run as normal, with the patch.

I think the PS3 is similar but even though I own one I dont play it much and cant remember exactly what happens but I'm sure its just like the 360.

I have a question for Ian or Phil.

In regards to the player progression fix, will the fix include progression both in preseason and from game to game? Or are these things already included?

Ya good question. I remember when u would get a progression/regression at the end of preseason, every 3-5 weeks during regular season, and right before playoffs or every week in playoffs, can't remember. That was nice and I think more realistic. Any way, can't wait for the patch! And my 360 is fixed and like 4-5 hours away!

Progression needs to be more like NCAA. I think it's pretty realistic in NCAA. It's like Madden has tried to make it so complicated that it doesnt even work properly.

A couple of people on EA forums were saying they downloaded patch#2 and it seems to have fixed their problems. I can't check myself because my 360 is being repaired and sent back to me. Just looking for any confirmation. Ian, Phil or any one else have any info?

There is a roster update that has Kerry Collins starting for the Titans. I don't know if this is (today) new, but it is available for download.

As far as patch #2, I don't see anything.

when i started my game today i went straight to a xbox live update screen.

and yes i have the first patch already.

im just wondering what i download was the 2nd patch or not?

MS sometimes has you download the same patch you updated recently if you haven't played the game in a while.

In all probability, the patch will be released late Monday night.
