The kick returns are a little better not much. I make it to the 30 before I encounter my first defender when the ball is kicked in the endzone. I should be dodging defenders at about the 18 yard line.

Are you on Heisman or AA and what team are you?
I think kick returns are extremely improved. I make it to the 25-30 yard line on most kicks.
In 6 quarters of playing since the patch, I've fumbled 7 times...without changing the sliders at all...I hope this is an anomoly and they didn't way overdo it. I don't think I fumbled 7 times in a season before. That's not enough, but more than once a quarter is excessive.
The CPU finally beat me. My advantage of insane punt returns and kick returns is a thing of the past. Plus, from what I've seen, I'm much more in control on defense now (but that may just be me).
Thanks to all the EA staff. They've been great throughout all the ordeals for Madden, NCAA and HC.
But please, don't f-up sliders next year!!!

Wisconsin oline was opening holes tanks could drive through. To me the pass rush from my front 4 is still none existant. I need to ajust something in game.
EDIT: I never reset the sliders before playing my first game so that would be why the computer had that kind of rushing day.

Are the pursuit angles any better? Do you still get escorted to the end zone?

The time clock is still broken... I don't notice any difference overall, at least not as markedly as I thought it was going to be, only that I've now gotten two strange things happening (PS3 version):
1. My receivers end up getting hit in the head a lot more and not making the catch where they once did.
2. The animation has gotten really REALLY choppy. It's no longer looking very smooth and you can see where the animation's link...
I like the game a lot more pre 2nd patch... I can only hope that there is a 3rd flawless patch that comes out to address these issues...
Again, the play clock is still taking an aveverage of 20 secs off after picking a play resulting in piss poor clock managment...

I never played with the sliders at all... I had just left them the tway they were originally... What I'm finding so far is that:
1. I fumble the ball now, like I did last year (all the time).
2. The animation has gotten REALLY choppy for some reason. Mainly in the long runs, the runners look like they "hick-up" every four or five yards.
3. My WRs no longer make the catches they once did. As in the ball will hit a wide open receiver in the head and fall to the ground. (I wouldn't use manual catch before, but now I think I'll have to as I can't depend on the computer to do it for me, I use to let the CPU do if as I feel it's more sim.)
- No real change in line pressure on either side of things.
- The play clock is still broken. It'll take an average of 20 secs off the play clock after picking a play, even in hurry up!
I hope there is another patch comming out to fix the bugs that have been created as a result of this last patch, personally, I liked the game more pre #2 patch!

I have played 2-3 games now post patch, all at AA and my own slider adjustment that makes things harder for me, not easier.
I have gone 2-1 in those three games...
I was #17 Maryland in an Online dynasty where I played #20 UNC, the improved defensive secondary really hit me here as I barely won the game 27-23. I am a spread offense and converted Maryland when I took the job there. In this game I noticed...
- Increase in my pass rush, I was actually getting past the line, but the QB still threw the ball before I would sack him. Had one sack all game, but many hurries.
- CPU secondary was greatly improved, My number one WR would usually do his crossing routes that are my safety nets (and used majority of time) and would easily burn the CB or even OLB. In this game, the OLB actually kept up and deflected passes.
- The bad I realized, is the game would 'lag' when I would select a play. I used to pick a formation and toggle through a couple and select. Now I have to make sure my toggle catches up to how many times I press it. Not good, and hope it was only last night.
The other games I played were less significant, I started a season with Troy and had to play Ohio State, I got whomped as expected, 37 - 21 and I didn't even score my second and third TDs til the 4th quarter...
- Still got more pass rush, especially from a smaller school. Troy has Mainor so its not too much of a surprise, but it was OSU after all as well.
- Defense still greatly improved, I barely throw INTs, I ended up with 3. Defenders still can leap an ungodly amount in the air just to bat a ball away....a little annoying.
- Before the game, definitely noticed the recruiting changes...I was finding pitches with a recruit and I noticed it getting over 40 minutes and I went to a 'very high' pitch to make him happy and he still got madder. Excellent improvement there!
The last game was my Ohio State season where I was playing an undefeated BYU in the Rose Bowl. Im a few years into this dynasty so no solid specifics here. BYU had an awesome offense (89) and a 72 rated defense. I slaughtered them, but once again the CPU defense was greatly improved especially in BYU's Zone defense. Angles tacklers take are still awful and can be used to advantage in Punt Returns...
Those are my thoughts so far...oh, CPU QBs throw some incompletions but 3 games in, their still hasn't been a single deep throw...kinda disappointed there...

The sliders work and kick coverage is better but I didn't notice much difference in the core gameplay last night. The sliders will certainly help but if you play with the same slider set I don't think you will notice a huge change. I didn't but that's fine since I actually like the game.

Well, I'm having a big issue since downloading the patch.
Ok...gotta game with one of my dynasty guys. Penn State vs. Michigan. I'm Michigan getting an invite from him. When we get to the helmet screen, my playbook has said Notre Dame, Ohio State, or Michigan State, even though the Michigan helmet is showing. Then, if I scroll through the jeresys...they are the choices of those teams, not Michigans. If we click to say we are ready, I get booted with the message "session no longer available"? Anyone got ideas?

Just want to make sure I did this correctly. When I have the Playstation 3 hooked up to a computer and I sign on to the Playstation network, once the NCAA 09 disc is in I am asked if I want to download an update - Is that the patch?
Thanks.
Thanks.

And one more thing. You're absolutely delusional if you think this game was better before the second patch. Really, you must be on crack to make a statement like that, if you truly believe it.
Nobody said the game was perfect, but it is far superior after patch #2. How could it not be, after they fixed CPU sliders and increased difficulty of the kick/punt returns?
If you don't like the second patch, empty your chache, or whatever it is you need to do, and don't download it again. Problem solved. Have a ball.
