Yeah, I should have mentioned that my pass block sliders are set to 0 as well. Pass rush still looks very broken, IMO. Others may disagree.

NCAA 09 for 360 is one solid game of football now that patch2 is out .. very very nice feel to the game now and those nasty running out of bounce while plenty of upfield room to run are a thing of the past now for all of us..both human and cpu players..yeeeeees!! Now if madden09 gets that fixed and a few other glarring issues..you cant lose with NCAA09 or Madden09 honestly.. sure i expect alot more presentation and atmosphere but these patches really seem to be the answer, instead of having to wait another year for hopes of a solid playing game..we can now have that after a game releases thanks to the patching abiiity with current gen consoles.

NCAA post patch2 is remarkable ..it really is. I just played a game.. and my D line had 3 sacks, unlike before i can get some pass rush going on now with minimal tweaking. Sliders seem to have a more pronounce effect too.

I might just run with NCAA09 until patch 2 and DLC for Madden09 comes out..this is a very well polished game after patch2..wow

That would explain why the patch is announced and only comes out for 360 and we have to wait for PS3 due to complications. They didn't say a 360 patch and a PS3 patch, they said patch 1 and 2 because they assumes it would work for both. It seems like they didn't look into the systems indivually. It is bad enough these patches were needed. They released an incomplete product or the testers did not do their job.
The release should have been postponed a month instead of sending out patches that don't work on all systems. Do you think NFL has a clause in the contract allowing them to release the rights to other companies in this instance? I'll bet they do. Finally, EA should be making amends with PS3 players. EA dropped the ball and did not address the system. A voucher of some kind should be sent to PS3 users of this game for a reasonable percentage off of Madden.
My goodness,

PS3 has gotten the shaft on graphics(when its capable of 1080p like the 360), the shaft on this patch business, the shaft on other little things in general when dealing with EA. It's easy to not care when you have a 360....I had one for 2 years and could've given two cents of concern for the PS3.

EA favored PS2 last go-round.

You think?? IMO, I thought the XboX had far superior sports games from EA then the PS2. I always bought my sports games for my XboX. Better graphics, better control.. That is what I thought at least.

EA coded on PS2 then ported over to Xbox, unless I'm incorrect.

I thought this 2nd patch was suppose to address the custom sounds working when you play on the road?
Did they not fix this, I downloaded the patch last night then started a new dynasty.
When I went to play my first road game the custom stadium sounds did not work. Did I not download the patch correctly??? Or do the sounds still not work?

# 610 jake44np @ 08/27/08 09:23 AM
What do you mean uploaded?
I have all my songs set to all teams and it still only plays when the user is the home team.
Do you have to redo them once you download the patch?
I may have not downloaded the patch correctly???
I created an account last night to be able to get on xbox live, once the account was created I fired up the game while I was connected and it told me there was an update for the game. It didnt say patch it said update is this correct? Anyway once the update was downloaded it started the game back up. If you never downloaded the first patch would it automatically give you both patches on the same download?
I am sorry if I sound like a newby when it comes to all of this but I am a newby.

Is there any other way to tell if I did get the 2nd patch for sure?

I couldn't agree more. Just a couple of ticks on the silders has a noticeable effect. That's good. It's caused me to have to tweak the sliders after every game, still searching for the right combinations. But I'm getting everything I need: No robo QB, better CPU rush game, more sacks, more penalties.

It just plays a good, entertaining game of football now, and that's all I've ever asked.

Agreed. Post patch made all the difference for me. It was so frustrating to watch my defense get shredded by no-name QB's completing 80%+ of their passes every game. I was getting pressure on them sometimes (maybe a sack or two per game), but they usually got the pass off anyway, more than likely to a receiver who had a defender standing flatfooted 5 yards away watching him catch it. Now, the CPU throws the occasional bad pass and I'm seeing completion percentages in the 50's and 60's (sometimes less!). And my defense actually has some teeth now. Scorefests in the 56-48 range have given way to 17-10 defensive battles. I've had some real nail biters post patch. I've lost games I should lose, I've won games I should win, and I've upset and been upset. Some really good games all around.

Offensively, the CPU now has a running game, too. I played a game last night where the CPU out rushed me. That never happen before. In my dynasty pre-patch, I had the #1 rush defense and my pass defense was ranked like #115. Patch #2 has evened that out and I think I'm running somewhere in the middle of the nation on both now.

Overall, I'm having a blast with this game now. Sure, there are still some things that could stand improvement but for the most part, I'm satisfied. Replayability for me is there and I anticipate playing this one for quite awhile. Madden has been sitting on the shelf for quite a few days now. Hoping the patch and DLC hits that one soon as well.

Ok I just dont get it!
My custom sounds still will not work for the cpu's home games but I am alomost certain the sliders are working now.
I just played game 1 of my S. Carolina dynasty and I won 27-13, it was defensive battle and a really fun game.
No more robo qb as the cpu qb was 14-29!!!!! With only 1 pick and they cpu actually ran the ball too.
My next game was at Vandy and there custom music would not work at all! Is anyone else having problems with the custom music working? It still only works for the user home games.

Hey, has anyone (in the 70 pages of this thread) addressed why the Online Leagues web page still isn't working on easports.com? I thought we were supposed to be able to check our league status and information online, after Patch 2 dropped.

The game is now set up to do this but the website is not ready yet.

There was misinformation or a miscommunication about that part. EA is still trying to do that but its not actually related to a patch. They don't need a patch to add it and its still in the work but a few weeks off I believe. I think Adam commented on that somewhere in here or his other thread.

I finally gave up some rushing yards against the computer. I played WVU using Baylor (I know, Baylor doesn't have the best defense) just to see what kind of stats that White and Devine would put up against me. I lost the game 34-17 and was very happy to do so considering the stats against me.

White, 13-19 passing, 195 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT
Brown, 1-2 passing, 23 yards, 1 INT

White, 14 carries, 95 yards, 1 TD
Devine, 23 carries, 174 yards, 1 TD
Brown, 2 carries, 7 yards

Does patch number 2 contain the things that were patched in the first patch? I just rented NCAA yesterday and it installed one patch, but I have no idea if it was just the first one. I played a couple of games as Notre Dame against Purdue and the the Purdue QB was over 80% completions in both games. I could not get any pressure on him to save my life. I lowered the CPU Acc slider to 0 and the CPU PB slider to 0 as well and there was no difference. I also lowered WR Catch to 5.

Could someone at EA please elaborate on how you know if you got the second patch please?
