Enjoying the demo myself. Wish there was some collision detection for the sidelines. I think NCAA09 has some.

It doesn't jive with me, and that's all there is to it. I'm glad people like the game and have fun with it, but I can't. It's the whole package from lighting, to graphics, overlays, sound, animation, presentation etc. I bought 07, and thought it was ok, and it's the same with this game. It's made improvements, but for me to buy a madden again it would have to be a totally DIFFERENT experience.

The game's not the problem, and I'm not the problem - me and the game together is a problem. Everyone else...enjoy.

I'm hoping some "reverse effect" will come into play here. I loved the NCAA demo but didn't like the game that much...I hate the Madden demo....maybe I'll end up loving Madden 09???

I agree. Drops weren't a problem for me, and I'm not a Madden guy by any stretch. I guess it has something to do with the strength of the throw and the coverage of the player being thrown to. I see drops when I send bullet passes to my HB 10 yards away and drops when my WR is tightly covered. So guess what, I adjust the way I throw the ball.

As for the people who weren't "wowed" by the demo, what the heck did you expect? An experience which is exactly like strapping on the pads on actually playing the game? Sorry, it's a videogame and that's not going to happen.

It's a matter of good football videogame or bad football videogame, and I have a feelling that this one's going to be a good.

hey guys, while I was playing the demo I experienced a glitch. I threw a 40 yard bomb to Burress and when he caught the pass near the back of the endzone and it looked like one of those plays that the cpu would challenge. To me it looked like one foot was in and another was out. It allowed me to go for a two point conversion and be able to kick the ball off. I put the game on pause and decided to take some pictures of the score and the players before the kick off. I've been a lurker here for a while and I'm not a troll. Sorry if someone else already discovered this.

I am guessing the game doesn't have play challenges available in the demo? I am not so sure its a glitch that your experienced or the fact that the game either doesn't have challenges available or the Pats didn't feel the need to challenge.

Playstation Blog has been updated (and the demo is confirmed for release today), but the store hasn't updated quite yet. Soon though, I'm sure.

It would be cool if somehow you can force the game into an overtime with that glitch.

alright im uploading the video of the kickoff. I thought I would be able to play defense, but once I tackled the returner it said that I failed the madden moment challenge even though I had the lead. Go figure.

The demo is now available on the PSN store. I'm downloading now, but I won't be able to play until after work tonight. Have fun kids!

Not sure where these ball dropping complaints are coming from. I've quick re-played the demo around 20 times so far, and the only drops from my guys (when no one is around them) came from bad passes from me, or the recievers having an awkward catch animation, which is realistic to me, as guys can drop easy passes quite a bit in real life. I'd also think this is a bit of a way to get some good realistic game stats, and maybe that's what the Madden team was going for. Anyway, probably only 6 drops like that total from the hour or so I've been messing with the demo.

Then again, my IQ training has constantly rated my passing in All-Pro, so maybe that'd have something to do with it.

I guess Microsoft pushed the 360 demo out first. I thought I had to wait till tommorow and it ends up coming out before the PSN demo.

# 176 DGuinta1 @ 07/31/08 07:16 PM
There where a ton of drops for me as well though I skipped the IQ test.

Is there a particular reason Manningham and Mayo two of this year's rookies are playing in the Superbowl. Can we at least can the so called "Madden Moments" right. Great graphics with enhanced NCAA 09 gameplay.

# 178 streamline @ 07/31/08 07:18 PM

Alright here is the video. Sorry for the crap quality, but you can see that it said I failed, but in the other pictures I posted I had the lead.

# 179 Altimus @ 07/31/08 07:25 PM
Every year people go nuts about the new Madden and every year people complain and analyze a demo beyond belief... a demo. A build which is probably months old.

This is a impressions thread, not a another year of 2K football thread.

Those that troll, will receive infractions. Talking about bugs is one thing, but trolling is another.

# 180 sportsdude @ 07/31/08 07:57 PM
EA=fail.

Manningham was on the Giants last year? That's news to everybody outside the EA offices, apparently.

Also, one drive. Not even a full quarter so I can't play defense? What a crappy demo. Yeah, let's put gamers in a Madden Moment from last year's Super Bowl, where they have to run a two-minute offense with no timeouts in a game they've never played before. Please.
