dont they always just hold The sprint button and press up,down left, right it one of them. it's 2nd nature to me in EA games so i can't remember for sure.

Yes I do buy Madden every year and play it for a week or so until I grow tired of it, but I'm having no problem completing passes in this demo. I just played it again and went 3 for 4 with a long TD to Plaxico. The one incomplete pass was off target becuase I was scrambling. Like I said I'm a 2k football guy and I love this demo and can't wait to get my hands on the full game.
i had a couple drops with brandon jacobs but i just figured it is because his catch rating is low.

the only dropped passes i have seen are from kevin boss and amani toomer. i have no big issue with it cause they never catch the ball in real life anyways.

Enjoyed the demo after not having played 08 at all. MUCH better than 07, especially the running game. I couldn't score against the Pats defense (got to the 3 when time expired, got picked in the endzone) but finally hit Plaxico on a drag and he rounded the corner and went 40-something yards for the score. One of those where he starts motion before the snap -- he just burned across the field and the DB had no chance... seems like YAC will be much better than in the past.

Might pick this up on release. If I can get if from Gamefly somehow, I'll try to do that because it's always cheaper to buy that way.. heh..

i love the fact you can now stiff arm a db as soon as you catch the ball to avoid the quick tackle. YAC is gonna be beautiful thing this year.

More odd stuff

threw a 30 yard TD yet no score, how ever the ball was placed on the GL. I threw another TD yet no score again, however they then had me kickoff to the Pats with 10 sec left. After I made the tackle then the game ended with a Failed.

Ive yet to see the drop ball issue

i disagree. i think they left it out because the cpu offense is broken.

I'd also think this is a bit of a way to get some good realistic game stats, and maybe that's what the Madden team was going for. Anyway, probably only 6 drops like that total from the hour or so I've been messing with the demo.

Then again, my IQ training has constantly rated my passing in All-Pro, so maybe that'd have something to do with it.
get the all-madden rating and you will see it. i had plax wide open on a short slant ...dropped. steve smith wide open on an out route ...dropped. this was back to back, iirc. i think the game punishes you for being good. lol.

btw, i also got all-madden for rushing and i failed three times in a row to pick up the first down on the opening play. (not a bad thing, btw)

lol well i come realize what everyone is talking about with drops. Kevin Boss and Brandon Jacobs have hands of stone.

I really liked the demo.. Might be my first next gen purchase of Madden. & the IQ test is excellent. I usually found the game too easy or too hard.. Now the AI adapts to how good you are.. The blocking is incredible.. & the automatic hurdling tripped me out a bit.. Wasn't expecting that.. The RB has so many moves now..

Yeah, but Plax and Shockey catch just about everything thrown in their direction. One thing I really liked was seeing Plax use his height and jump up over DBs to make some catches.

Overall I think this is a HUGE improvement in Madden and I am glad I haven't seen the fumbling problems of last year . . . so far.

He does it on his own. I don't take control of receivers usually until they make the catch.

Ok... Question on the Madden IQ... does it change while playing Madden Moments? Mine seems to be stuck on 498 (whatever that means). The passing started out extremely hard considering how well I did in the Madden Test (which is a horrible representation of the playing field imo). After a few picks thrown in a row, the passing seemed to have eased up, so I'm not sure if the Madden IQ is altering or not, but I sure hope so.

Will this work on the regular build too? Like say, I decide to not take the madden test (which I have already decided lol), and I play like 5 exhibitions... the game should accurately reflect my playing skill right?

I personally like this addition to the game the most if all of what I hope is true.

60 frames looks so well as far as movement and speed is concerned.. Also this game is 10 times better than 08 on PS3 with the frame rate alone .. last year just sucked.. Wish I could of played more but honestly it feels like a better polished version of NCAA plus the men are a bit more detailed and larger... Passes Zip in faster when standing still and holding the button .. Running feels more smooth and the shaking camera is a nice touch in the open filed.. also Free lance celebrations(LIKE NCAA) is cool i dunk the ball 2wice and missed 1 time because I wasn't in the middle of the goal post .. kinda cool! I pause the game and looked on teh side line and spotted 4 different coaches ..looked cool but the faces was waaay off and they looked like migets LOL

# 317 scoobywho @ 08/01/08 03:34 PM
will there be real coach faces and coach cut scenes this year?? if not I think next year 2010 madden will fully work on presentation like NFL2k5.. atleast teh chain gain and multi pro bowl helmets with sometype of celebration.. imagine winning a real cadillac on the game for MVP how sweet

I am not gonna make a whole lot of comments on this yet as its a demo, but I will say I LOVE the fact that the QBs have to turn and set their feet before throwing the ball. I also like that the balls are not as accurate when throwing on the run.

# 319 Scoop 24 @ 08/01/08 03:40 PM
are we throwing the passes to hard? could this be reason for the drops cause its getting a tad frustrating when you your hitting plaxico in the #s wide open and he just drops it.

by the way bobbling catches are pretty nice touch.

Liked:
The new quick subs
The run game
Play Calling screen
Player Models

Complaints:
The entire IQ thing is entirely pointless.
The drills in no way judge anything that relates to real gameplay.

(BTW im not slandering it, just stating a fact, those drills do not apply to any gameplay, which makes me even madder that this is their big feature. As I have said before rather then take on serious issues like improving Franchise or Online, they chose to add a pointless gimmick that no one was asking for.)
