Just the Heat.

It would be incredibly bad business sense to sabotage a season for Gilbert. For one, he needs his young player to play and draw interest. Two, he needs games to make money.

Just because he wants money and wants to screw bigger markets doesn't mean he's trying to sabotage the season.
Its the same effect. The guy did a **** job at managing his team and coddled a superstar who screwed him in the end....what the hell does that have to do with the system or revenue sharing. No one told him to pay Boobie Gibson 4 mil a year or Varajao 9 mil or take on Jamison's deal.

Also I dont think it would be that bad for Gilbert if he lost a season. A lost season would equal a hard cap, Miami and Lebron getting screwed, a second top 5 draft pick and more revenue sharing.

1: I don't think he's pissed about losing money. Nor is he pissed about any of those moves. The guy took Baron Davis just to get an unprotected 1st rounder. And I don't hear him complaining about that.

2: A lost season would equal a year without his two top 5 picks playing, maybe getting a hard cap and MAYBE getting a top 5 pick, although if they do a last three years average, they are screwed.

Gilbert isn't trying to throw a season away. I think he's smarter than that. I do think if he does see an opportunity to screw LeBron, though, he's going to take it. But I don't think he's going to throw away his reputation among the owners just to get even.

Gilbert cant stop a deal anyway because Stern only needs 16. If there is a lost season I GUARANTEE there will be a hard cap. The leverage switches to the owners the minute actual games are lost and paychecks stop coming in. Same thing happened with the NHL.

I think Gilbert has some pull within the owners, he's on the bargaining committee and is considered a leader for the new owners. I don't think he's dumb enough to throw that away. I also think he has enough pull to stop a vote if he wants to as well.

That being said, I don't think Gilbert is that huge of a proponent of the hard cap.

I hope this isn't a hail mary on friday.

If there's going to be a hard cap, I expect some sort of combo of: salary rollbacks, buyouts, hard cap to be phased in

I think it is and that pretty much means we are missing games. More people in a room rarely leads to a deal being done. Also players like Lebron, Kobe and Wade are a part of the meeting yet havent been involved at all. I dont have a good feeling about this.

Stern very ominous after meetings. Says if agreement is not close after weekend talks, "enormous consequences will occur."
