Good News, Everybody!

Labor meeting over, and Derek Fisher says sides will meet again Friday with as many as 15 owners joining players in negotiating room.

The weekend has been left open by owners and players to keep talking here in New York, Fisher said.

Plus, "key" players will be at the meeting.

Source says NBA stars - including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Kevin Durant - are expected in NYC on Friday for players meeting.

I guess Rosh Hashanah is not celebrated on Friday. Or maybe they just want to get it over with. Looks like the talks is heading for an NBA season that will start on time. I know I said I wasn't going to get too excited about these reports BUT it's getting close to October 1st and this is around the time that many predicted that movement towards an agreement would start to materialize.

Hopefully they stick Sarver and Gilbert at the kid's table this time. Some owners should have significantly more say in this than others.

How are you so sure that Sarver and Gilbert are against this?

Just saying...

They are the selected owners trying to sabotage the season. Gilbert in particular.

I don't think he is trying to sabotage the season.

Just the Heat.

It would be incredibly bad business sense to sabotage a season for Gilbert. For one, he needs his young player to play and draw interest. Two, he needs games to make money.

Just because he wants money and wants to screw bigger markets doesn't mean he's trying to sabotage the season.

I love this:

"As Hunter speaks on street, guy rolls up, pounds fist on door panel, and shouts, "We want basketball! Stop the playing and get it done!"
